I’m with Dr. Carson on Constitution and Islam

I’m not exactly a proponent for Dr. Ben Carson for President. Like most Conservatives I think he is a real nice guy that took it to Obama at a Prayer Breakfast. But I have a sense Dr. Carson will be too easily manipulated by advisors who know their stuff about national or geopolitical issues. AND YET he made some recent comments on the compatibility of Islam and the Constitution that I hugely agree with and added some more respect for Dr. Carson’s beliefs. On Sunday’s Meet The Press Dr. Carson was interviewed. Toward the end of that interview a question arose from Chuck Todd:

“Let me ask you the question this way: Should a President’s faith matter? Should your faith matter to voters?”

And so the conversation proceeded as such:

DR. BEN CARSON:

Well, I guess it depends on what that faith is. If it’s inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter. But if it fits within the realm of America and consistent with the constitution, no problem.

CHUCK TODD:

So do you believe that Islam is consistent with the constitution?

DR. BEN CARSON:

No, I don’t, I do not.

CHUCK TODD:

So you—

DR. BEN CARSON:

As a rule these days I rarely watch the Lame Stream Media because it is too slanted to the Left. Indeed I heard of the Carson/Muslim controversy on Fox News. Now I wasn’t surprised that the Lame Stream Media, Leftist pundits and Muslim-American advocacy groups (groups that are actually Quran literalists) criticized Carson as a religious Islamophobe bigot. I wasn’t even surprised that RINOs joined the Left in criticizing Dr. Carson. BUT was surprised and disappointed that a significant amount of reputed Conservatives especially among those running for POTUS were critical of Dr. Carson’s stand.

Dr. Carson is absolutely correct! If a Muslim stands with the basic tenets of the Quran and Sharia Law, that Islam is totally INCOMPATIBLE with the U.S. Constitution. Such a Muslim SHOULD NOT be voted into any Office in the USA in which the Constitution is a part of the swearing in for service in any government institution rather it be Federal, State or Local.

AND such a belief does not contradict the Constitution in either Article VI of the Constitution or the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights.

Article VI (Pertaining to Religious Test for Office)

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the members of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States and of the several states, shall be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States. (Bold Text Mine – U.S. Constitution – Article VI; Cornell Law School – Legal Information Institute)

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. (Bold Text from website – Amendment I; National Constitution Center)

I bring attention to these two portions of the Constitution because Dr. Carson’s critics use them as a gotcha to smear Dr. Carson’s opinion. Of note I ran into a post (Google surfing) in which former long-time Fox & Friends co-host Alisyn Camerota badgered Dr. Carson’s business manager Armstrong Williams over the stipulation that the tenets of Islam are not compatible to the Constitution and those Dr. Carson would not “advocate” for a Muslim President.

The now Lame Stream Media Left Wing Camerota said Carson’s opinion is only representative of the so-called minority of Islam and not mainstream Islam AND further Camerota proclaimed that Carson’s views violate the Constitution.

Pertaining to Islam: If a Muslim does not take the entirety of Quran as the uncreated words of Allah then you are a bad Muslim. This is why you will rarely hear so-called Moderate Muslims criticize the so-called Radical Muslim’s reasoning but maybe or perhaps criticize the so-called Radical’s actions. To criticize reasoning directly from the Quran is blasphemous. The Quran tells Muslims that blaspheming Islam is worthy of death – this is not a metaphorical death. Look around Muslim majority nations. Muslims angry over some perceived blasphemy rioting oft times in violence are not representative of a minority opinion. Those rioting Muslims are representative of the majority and they are seriously and violently enraged against a perceived blasphemer.

ERGO Camerota’s finger pointing of dividing the majority from the minority within Islam is pure hogwash (pun intended).

THEN Camerota’s accusation that Dr. Carson is advocating an unconstitutional opinion is a load of Leftist bilge. Dr. Carson as much right to advocate NOT voting for a Muslim as a Muslim has a right to not vote for a Christian because they believe Jesus died on the Cross, arose bodily from the grave AND is the Son of God – all blasphemous notions in Islam (Pro-Islam website agreement: HERE and HERE). AND the tenets of the Quran and Sharia ARE diametrically opposed to that which the U.S. Constitution stands for. Should start calling all Muslims – even the alleged peaceful Muslims – Christophobes because their tenets say the centrality of Christianity is blasphemous hence deserving of death?

AGAIN – a bunch of Camerota Leftist-apologist hogwash.

Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson caused a controversy over the weekend when he said that he wouldn’t advocate electing a Muslim as president of the United States. On “Hannity” tonight, Carson said he “absolutely” stands by his comments.
