The American Family Association (AFA) is exposing a pro-homosexual event that is a part of the LGBTQ agenda to further brainwash Americans into accepting the ungodly homosexual lifestyle as legitimate. On a national level the LGBTQ agenda is advocating for Public Schools to have a Day of Silence (DOS) for those poor homosexual victims of Biblical Values (John MacArthur has a great post on the God-view) promoters.

 

I highly encourage you to read and act on the AFA alert posted below. AS YOU read the alert I want to think of a dangerous censorship law proposed in California (AB 2943), disguised as a commerce-consumer protection law that makes such AFA Alerts either illegal or an open path for California homosexuals to bring a civil suit against the AFA for disseminating material that condemns the homosexual lifestyle.

Teacher Shushing for LGBTQ

 

On Friday, April 27, high schools (and many middle schools) across the country will be hosting the LGBT movement’s annual “Day of Silence.”

 

During this all-day event, student activists and even school officials encourage students to be silent for the entire day as a sign of solidarity with the international LGBT movement. Students are encouraged to wear special pro-homosexual badges, stickers, and bracelets – which are often handed out at the school entrances that day. There are also pro-LGBT posters in the hallways, handouts, and even workshops.

 

Although the adult activists claim that the “Day of Silence” (DOS) is put together by “students,” it is in fact organized behind the scenes by adults with the enthusiastic cooperation of school officials. They use materials and instructions from a national homosexual activist group.

 

Please join the national effort to restore to public education a proper understanding of the role of government-subsidized schools.

 

You can actively oppose this hijacking of the classroom for political purposes and help de-politicize the learning environment by keeping your child out of school if your child’s school participates, promotes or allows “Day of Silence” activities.

 

TAKE ACTION

 

  1. Call your local schoolsand ask whether they permit students or teachers to remain silent in the classroom on “Day of Silence.” IMPORTANT: Do not ask any administrator, school board member, or teacher if the school sponsors, endorses, or supports DOS. Schools do not technically sponsor the Day of Silence. Technically, it is students, often students in the gay-straight alliance, who sponsor it. Many administrators will tell you that they do not sponsor the DOS when, in fact, they do permit students and sometimes even teachers to remain silent during instructional time. Also ask administrators whether they permit teachers to create lesson plans to accommodate student silence.

 

  1. Find out what datethe event is planned for your school and warn other parents. (The national date in 2018 is Friday, April 27, but some schools observe DOS on a different date).

 

  1. Inform the school of your intentionto keep your children home on that date and explain why.

Just the other day I had a conversation with my 3rd grade grandson about his reading regimen. He was trying to squirm out of his daily reading by telling me he forgot to bring his book from school.

 

I told him to get a book from home. He tried to tell me we didn’t have any. I knew better. So I told him we many versions of the Bible to read.

 

He told me his teacher said he couldn’t read religious books.

 

I said, “Tough! Get a Bible. I’m going to have to talk to your Public School teacher about Religious Freedom in the First Amendment.”

 

My wife saved our grandson’s bacon by assigning something I can’t recall right now. BUT it really chapped my hide that a Public School teacher said reading the Bible was unacceptable.

 

It’s a good thing I didn’t fly-off the handle. I checked my email later in the day and had received an email from the 3rd grade teacher. Lo and behold – she was asking why I hadn’t been turning in my grandson’s reading record.

 

Oops, my bad I had not kept up with that. Reading the email further reading suggestions were included. Guess what. Religious literature was a part of the approved reading. Now the word “Bible” was not used specifically, but as far as I am concerned “religious” included the Bible.

 

I wish my grandson was as bright in doing homework as he is in slipping out of homework.

 

I was thinking about all this Religious Freedom vs. the mythical Separation of Church and State (See Also HERE and HERE)and I ran into the article I am cross posting below from United Families International about preserving Religious Freedom for our children or in our case grandchildren that we are raising.

This week I received an email from Alliance Defending Freedom, a group of lawyers who defend religious freedom, that began thus:

 

“Dear Diane,

 

Do you ever wonder what the future will look like for your children and grandchildren?

 

We live in a world where religious freedom for future generations cannot be assumed. It must be fought for—every day.”

 

As I have studied the issues, written for UFI, discussed the issues with friends, family, and strangers, and written and spoken with lawmakers, I have often thought, “Have we so little compassion for the destinies of our own children that we can feel just about ignoring the destruction of the freedoms we have enjoyed?”

 

There are so many reasons people give to ignore the current erosion of religious freedom– we are too busy; losing our freedom is inevitable; religious freedom marginalizes people with other beliefs; religion itself is bigoted and old fashioned, and so on. The fight for religious freedom is not a friendly fight.

 

It’s true that those on the side of religious freedom are continually disparaged. They are told that their views are based on bigotry and hate for certain groups of people. It’s hard to stand up against such demeaning accusations. And it is certainly not true for most. Most people fighting for religious freedom do so because they believe that everyone should be allowed to live and work according to the dictates of their conscience. They believe in property rights, freedom of belief, and freedom of conscience. They oppose laws that limit the ability of people to live, work, and worship as they believe.

 

In the same email mentioned above, ADF reported that their:

 

“Clients are regular people who were going about their daily business—work, school, church—until they were confronted by a culture intolerant of their faith. A Christian printer faced a boycott and lawsuit because he politely declined to print t-shirts promoting the local ‘pride’ festival. A decorated firefighter was suspended because of a Christian book he wrote in his spare time. A college student was threatened with expulsion because of her Christian beliefs. A church was told that their house of worship is no longer sacred, but just another public accommodation.”

 

These are a few of the ways religious freedom is eroding in North America. It has hit some individuals hard. There are forces working to establish laws that would limit what churches can do in their buildings and even what religious leaders are allowed to preach. There are forces working to regulate private property as if it were public or government property.

 

To help our children and grandchildren enjoy the same freedoms we have enjoyed, we must study the issues, understand current events, and speak up. Losing our religious freedom is only as inevitable as we allow it to be. If enough people act, freedom can still be preserved for the generations to come.

Islam Corrupts Public Education

America’s children are being indoctrinated in U.S. public schools, from Florida to Minnesota and California to Tennessee, through Islamic propaganda in the school’s curriculum that is nothing less than political reeducation disguised as “sensitivity training”. They are being sensitized into viewing Islam sympathetically and as a “religion of peace”, despite all evidence to the contrary, through politically correct messages and base Islamic lies that are aimed at developing “cultural awareness” and “tolerance”, regarding Muslims and Islam, and defusing the fact that Islam is a violent ideology that regularly spawns religiously motivated terrorist attacks, such as 9/11 and the Boston Bombing.

The textbooks are “white-washing” the Islamic faith. Islam is characterized as the underdog suffering injustice, while Christians and Jews are suggested to be unwilling to transcend prejudice and ill-will in order to allow Islam to have equal expression. And yet, there is not any mention of the hundreds of thousands of Christians and Jews being slaughtered and beheaded by Islamofascists across the Middle East or that the 9/11 abattoir was committed by Muslims opposed to our free exercise of religion and our pluralism and tolerance of all.

In an education climate heavily controlled by anti-Christian Progressives, atheists and the ACLU, public schools barely allow Christians to even pray, display the Ten Commandments and read the Bible on their breaks __ their own time __ even though this is protected under the First Amendment. These anti-Christian elements would never teach Christianity in the same manner, as they now teach Islam in the public schools.

With hypocrisy and double-standards on full display, public schools across the U.S. have adopted programs, such as the Islam Project, and they are blatantly violating the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, according to the Family Policy Network, the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) and millions of Americans. These programs promote an agenda that requires, among a long list of other inappropriate and unconstitutional items, that students learn the five pillars of Islam, recite Islamic prayers such as “all people must submit to Allah” and “there is no God but Allah” and learn that Muslims worship the same God as Christians and Jews, a base, outright lie.

In April of this year, Union Grove High school in Wisconsin gave a writing assignment “Pretend you are Muslim”, and not long afterwards, Carly Gammill, an ACLJ attorney, explained to their school district officials that Islam could not be presented in this manner without breaking the law: “By requiring the students to adopt the viewpoint of a Muslim, union Grove has gone well beyond teaching ‘about’ religion. In fact, this advancement of the Muslim viewpoint is specifically what the Supreme Court has deemed a direct violation of the First Amendment.”

In September 2015, parents in Rutherford, Williamson, Maury, Sumner and other Tennessee counties, were furious over the same sort of indoctrination tactics occurring in their schools; however, some administrators, like Rutherford County [one source 9/30/15] Superintendent Don Odom, claimed it was out of the School Board’s hands and blamed the textbook publishers and the state, while others, like Wilson County Director Donna Wright, claimed no wrong was committed. Some of these administrators are simply feckless and ill-informed, and others are knowingly supporting and advancing Islam and discriminating against Christianity and Judaism, in line with the theory that the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

In a deceptive and disingenuous statement, Paul Galloway, who is a Muslim and executive director for the American Center for Outreach, said: “To learn what the first pillar is has nothing to do with indoctrination. You can’t trick someone into being a Muslim.”

Galloway dismisses the fact that these are children in the 6th and 7th grades, who are in their most impressionable and formative years. Any seed of knowledge must be planted with care and full and honest discussion, and in regards to one’s worldview and religion, that responsibility must remain under the domain of the parents concerning the guidance of their children.

Just as Representative Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) stated on September 8th: “There is a big difference between education and indoctrination.”

Reported first by the ‘Columbia Daily Herald’, imagine the righteous anger that flowed from Maury County parents, such as Brandee Porterfield and Joy Ellis, when they discovered their twelve year old children were taught the Islamic conversion prayer and made to write the “Shahada” — “There is no God but Allah; Mohammed is the Messenger of Allah.” And next, they were told by Dr. Jan Hanvey that Christianity would not be covered at Spring Hill Middle School, “because Christianity is not in the school standards.”

Pastor Greg Locke of Mt Juliet, TN (Wilson Co) noted that there is only “a half page of watered-down Christianity” being taught in the sixth grade, while 28 pages of Islamic curriculum are being taught. Locke and many families are highly upset “over all this new Islamic indoctrination in our school system”, which they call “absolute brainwashing”. Adding insult to injury, the Wilson County school system exhibited incredible insensitivity by scheduling a test on Islamic curriculum on Sept. 11th, however, the ensuing uproar in the community forced its delay.

Predictably, Christian parents across the country are also upset to find that the study guide section of ‘Origins of Islam’ presents as fact statements such as, “Around the age of 40, the angel Gabriel told Mohammed that he was to be a prophet of Allah.”

Imagine the outcry we would hear from the soulless Progressives, atheists and Muslims, if students were told that they had to pray the Lord’s Prayer, memorize the Ten Commandments, state that “Jesus is the Messiah” and fast during Lent. Even if we cannot fully or completely explain why Islam is being favored by the U.S. Board of Education and many state and local education boards, the duplicity of the public education system is apparent in regards to Islam.

State Representative Andy Holt (R-Dresden/TN) wrote in his blog: “While I can certainly understand the desire for cultural knowledge, it must never be at the cost of our cultural identity. Many of our children are not being taught the Ten Commandments in school, but instead the Five Pillars of Islam and the ‘Prophet’ Mohammed as a sovereign to Jesus Christ.”

The pro-Islam bias and precepts towards conversion to Islam in public schools must be ended, and all those government officials, educators and superintendents responsible for this situation across America must be held accountable through more than just petitions and lawsuits. Textbook contracts can be voided on the basis of multiple factual errors. Teachers can introduce new curriculum that meets their communities’ approval, with little to zero added cost. And, superintendents unable or unwilling to cooperate can be fired, defeated in special elections and impeached, their contracts ended and damn the cost: America’s parents must join ranks forcefully to ensure that our children receive an honest and fact-based education — the best possible education — through a system built on integrity, incorrupt from exalting Islam above all other beliefs.

I am on the WND email list. And really, I enjoy being on the WND mailing list. One of the draw backs though are I am bombarded with ads from the WND store. I actually read those ads with interest because I am tempted to buy stuff. Fear of the budget minded wife keeps me inline and away from buying on a weekly basis.

 

In saying all that WND sent an interesting ad with a theme I am very interested in. The theme is the effect of Secular Humanist/Marxist thinking invading America’s Public School system to mold young minds away from traditional Christian Moral thought.

Homosexuals DO NOT Need a Special Legal Status

Homosexuality is a perverted abomination practiced by morally reprobate individuals that mock the Word of God.

Regardless of what homosexual activists, Democrats, Secular Humanists, Moral Relativists and so on will tell you; homosexuality is a wicked lifestyle to practice. I do say this knowing that a significant amount of homosexuals are otherwise decent citizens following the rule of law as prescribed by the U.S. Constitution. On the other hand there are a large segment of homosexuals that are so militant to demand societal acceptance that they take their perverted debauchery to the public square. AND many cities do NOTHING to stop the parades or the homosexual festivals that exude public displays of debauchery for all to see.

 

NOW Congressional legislators that are homosexual activists are preparing to push through legislation that would force Public Schools to that homosexuality is a normal lifestyle followed with explanations on how the homosexual sex act is performed. The legislation is called the Homosexual Classrooms Act. In the House it is HR 988 and in the Senate it is S 555. Homosexual activists have actually began to acquire broad support for this pervert legislation in Congress. Friends, YOU HAVE TO WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMEN!

 

Now let’s be honest though. Neither HR 998 nor S 555 is designed to promulgate the homosexual agenda onto America’s Public Schools. The real name for the Homosexual Classrooms Act is actually Student Non-Discrimination Act. The aim is to stop bullying of sexual orientation that is not heterosexual (i.e. normal). Those that have come out against the Student Non-Discrimination Act (SNDA) have cited some misleading information and directly attributing the information to the wording to SNDA. Here are some examples:

 

*** Require schools to teach appalling homosexual acts so “homosexual students” don’t feel “singled out” during already explicit sex-ed classes;

 

*** Spin impressionable students in a whirlwind of sexual confusion and misinformation, even peer pressure to “experiment” with the homosexual “lifestyle;”

 

*** Exempt homosexual students from punishment for propositioning, harassing, or even sexually assaulting their classmates, as part of their specially-protected right to “freedom of self-expression;”

 

*** Force private and even religious schools to teach a pro-homosexual curriculum and purge any reference to religion if a student claims it creates a “hostile learning environment” for homosexual students.

 

In the summaries of HR 998 and S 555 I cannot find anything close to the suggested outcome predicted by some of my fellow Pro-Biblical Morality compatriots. Forcing students to learn that homosexuality is normal, that homosexual sex acts are not perverted, encouraging homosexual experimentation and punishing heterosexuals for being angry and/or offended by a homosexual proposition of same-sex dating or sex is crazy ridiculous.

 

If HR 998 and S 555 are approved it will be Congress moving the homosexual abomination to a level equal to that of race, religion, sex, creed or national origin. According the First Amendment homosexuals have the right to choose abomination but that does not need the rule of law must afford a special legal status for Lesbians, Gays, Bi-Sexuals and Transgender people (aka LGBT). LGBT people are either a part of a race, a religion, a male or female sex, a creed or a variant national origin than is typical of Americans.

 

The SNDA provides a legal status that will render the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) irrelevant. The SNDA will open the door to the persecution of Christians as homophobe bullies when there is open criticism that homosexuality is an ungodly lifestyle practice. And all those fears of homosexual acceptance in academics listed above will become educational curriculum but not because of SNDA wording. Rather a legal status for LGBT people will lead to an already Left leaning educational environment to begin teaching homosexual acceptance to curtail bullying against LGBT students.

 

So the SNDA text may not be directly point to homosexual propaganda and moral acceptance in school; however the existence of such legislation will lead to the equivalent of a Homosexual Classrooms Act not codified by Federal law but foisted by Federal Policy to make LGBT students feel comfortable about living in abomination as defined by God’s Word in the Bible.

 

If there is a Federal level Bill against bullying, it SHOULD NOT make LGBT people a separate and equal legal status as in race, religion, sex, creed and national origin. A Bullying Bill should exist for all students regardless of race, religion, sex, creed and national origin which would be inclusive of confused kids being taught be part of the LGBT lifestyle is just fine.

 

So we must stop the Student Non-Discrimination ACT to prevent the next step of a Homosexual Classrooms Act. Trust me, the next step will be to brainwash our children to agree with Moral Relativism in a Public School setting. Or worse, Christian schools may be ultimately be forced homosexual lifestyle acceptance to students even though the Bible specifically calls homosexuality an abomination.

 

Eugene Delgaudio representing the Public Advocate of the United States has sent an email out that explains the situation about Homosexual Classrooms Act from the point of view such a law will lead to direct propaganda education in Public School. Then Delgaudio points you to a petition to sign. Yes there will be pleas for donations and you should consider giving some of your money to fight a cause that too many are afraid to do so because a Left Wing MSM and Left oriented Hollywood and TV harangue promoters of Biblical Morality as bigots. If I am a bigot for writing against homosexuality then I am a proud bigot; however I am a supporter of God’s Word. If I am with God then I am in good company. If you are a promoter of the homosexual agenda then you are fighting against God.

 

Delgaudio may be a bit off on the effect of the anti-bullying homosexual Bill; nonetheless there is a can of worms that when opened quite probably will lead classroom propaganda listed in the Delgaudio take action email.

You see, the Homosexual Classrooms Act contains a laundry list of anti-family provisions that will:

 

*** Require schools to teach appalling homosexual acts so “homosexual students” don’t feel “singled out” during already explicit sex-ed classes;

 

*** Spin impressionable students in a whirlwind of sexual confusion and misinformation, even peer pressure to “experiment” with the homosexual “lifestyle;”

 

*** Exempt homosexual students from punishment for propositioning, harassing, or even sexually assaulting their classmates, as part of their specially-protected right to “freedom of self-expression;”

 

*** Force private and even religious schools to teach a pro-homosexual curriculum and purge any reference to religion if a student claims it creates a “hostile learning environment” for homosexual students.

 

And that’s just the beginning of the Homosexual Lobby’s radical agenda.

In fact, it will set them up to ram through their entire perverted vision for a homosexual America.

My friend, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you this is not a fight we can afford to lose.

In fact, other countries like Britain are already experimenting with this kind of legislation, such as mandating public schools inject pro-homosexual content into every aspect of education.

Word problems in math classes are now to include homosexual characters.  History classes will document the “civil rights” struggle against the “oppressive” pro-family establishment.

In California, lawmakers want to “require schools to portray lesbians, homosexuals, transsexuals … as positive role models to children in all public schools.”

Kevin Jennings, Obama’s “Safe Schools Czar,” has clearly stated that “every school, public, private or parochial has an obligation” to teach a pro-homosexual curriculum.

In fact, Jennings denounced school choice programs as “very dangerous” because they make it much harder to impose the Homosexual Agenda on our kids.

“Lord forbid a Baptist or Mormon school,” he added.

Jennings’ ultimate goal is for all curriculum in “kindergarten, and first grade, and second grade – every grade” be infused with a pro-homosexual slant.

Traditional values will be squashed and demonized as old fashioned or out of date, or even as bigotry.

The term Muslim Mafia (SA HERE) has been an appellation associated with CAIR by authors Dave Gaubatz and Paul Sperry. The term Muslim Mafia in actuality can refer to numerous Muslim-American organizations that have deep ties to the Muslim Brotherhood or other Salafi-like Muslims either in the USA or exerting theopolitical ideology from a foreign nation.

 

Some of these Salafi or what many would call radical Islamic ties has extended to Muslim enclaves and schools in America. And when I say school I mean Public School utilizing taxpayer funds to educate K-12 students to drill the tenets of radical Islam into young minds.

 

One such case is a Muslim Charter School in Minnesota called Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TiZA). ACT for America has sent an email that is facilitating information of the Islamist nature of a Public School receiving taxpayer funds. TiZA has become so abusive in its secrecy that it is utilizing Lawfare and thuggery threats to keep the public from knowing that the Islamic religion is part of the curriculum of the school. The thought behind the TiZA Public School is to provide an environment of Middle Eastern Culture influenced by Islam to students that either have roots to the Middle East or are foreign students from an Islamic Culture. That premise is crazy enough since it is NOT conducive to assimilation to American Culture. The crime is TiZA’s infusion of Islamic religious practice (probably Islamist) on the public dime. AND here is the amazing tidbit of information: The TiZA mafia has angered the deep pockets of the ACLU!

 

The very name of the school should give pause to Americans. TiZA was named after its namesake (which many variations of spelling). Tarek (Tariq) ibn Ziyad invades Christian Spain in 711 AD. Ibn Ziyad’s victory over Visigothic ruler King Roderick spelled the beginning of brutal and humiliating oppression Spanish Christians under Islamic rule. It is kind of like naming a Public School in American culture Benedict Arnold High School.

In early 2008 journalist Katherine Kersten broke a story about suspected inappropriate Islamic activities in a public, taxpayer-funded charter school, the Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TiZA).

 

When ACT! for America learned of this we swung into action. Chapter leaders contacted local and state officials. Letters to the editor were sent to newspapers. Guy Rodgers, ACT! for America Executive Director, talked with an official at the Minnesota Department of Education (MDOE) regarding a possible investigation.

 

MDOE did launch an investigation, and cited TiZA for two violations of law. During that time, a TiZA official assaulted a news cameraman.

 

Then the ACLU sued TiZA, alleging improper religious activity at a public school.

 

Not surprisingly, as Kersten reports below (highlights added), TiZA is engaging in intimidation and non-compliance tactics to prevent exposure of what it has been doing behind the closed doors of its school—a public school, paid for with tax dollars!!!

The battle over the role of Islam in a Minnesota public school is heating up again in a federal courtroom in St. Paul. The conflict began in January 2009, when the ACLU of Minnesota sued Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy — a K-8 charter school with campuses in Inver Grove Heights and Blaine — for violating constitutional prohibitions against government endorsement of religion.

TiZA since has fought tooth and nail — erecting procedural barriers to prevent the ACLU from investigating what goes on behind its doors. The school’s tactics have gone far beyond the usual rough-and-tumble of lawyers in our adversary system. Its chief tool has been attempted intimidation of all who would draw back the curtain on its secrets.

 

One of TiZA’s first targets was the ACLU itself. A few months after the suit began, the school filed a $100,000-plus defamation claim, citing ACLU executive director Chuck Samuelson’s simple statement that “[TiZA is] a theocratic school … as plain as the substantial nose on my face.” The court dismissed the claim.

 

In January 2010, the ACLU was back in court to seek a protective order, on grounds that intimidation by TiZA was discouraging potential witnesses from appearing. The ACLU filed affidavits by a former TiZA parent and a former TiZA staff member, who described what they interpreted as threats of violence against them. In her affidavit, the female staff member said that Asad Zaman — TiZA’s executive director — had suggested after she displeased him: “We could just kill you, yeah tell your husband we’ll do his job for him.” (Zaman has no recollection of making such a statement, he said in an affidavit.) The court barred witness harassment or intimidation by either party.

 

In June 2010, the ACLU returned to court to quash what it described as yet another TiZA attempt to intimidate current and former employees from speaking about what they had seen at the public school. TiZA’s “Staff Handbooks include a secrecy clause, and related threat of legal action for violating it,” according to the ACLU’s court filings. TiZA “wields [these provisions] as a sledgehammer to keep former employees quiet about what they saw at the school.” As a result, “former TiZA employees have expressed fear about speaking to the ACLU.”

 

According to the ACLU, TiZA’s refusal to agree not to enforce the secrecy clause “sends the ominous signal that current and former employees who talk to the ACLU may be forced to defend themselves against a baseless, expensive lawsuit.”

 

On Oct. 1, Judge Donovan Frank agreed — affirming an order the ACLU had earlier won barring TiZA from enforcing the confidentiality clause in the context of this litigation.

The court’s order and memorandum spoke volumes: “It appears that information related to TiZA’s business, finances, operations and office procedures is public data and cannot be kept secret.” “The relevant question … is why TiZA, a public charter school, does not want to allow its former and current employees to participate in the informal discovery process to ascertain the truth about how TiZA operates.”

 

The court’s strong language in response to TiZA’s actions was unusual: “[I]ntimidation and threats will not sit well with a fact-finder such as a jury.” As a result of the school’s actions, “[T]he Court may be required to draw adverse inferences about how TiZA operates as a result of TiZA’s efforts to keep information about its operations secret. … [TiZA’s] behavior during the discovery process thus far … has not been consistent with a good faith search for the truth.”

 

The ACLU has characterized TiZA’s recent actions regarding the secrecy clause as “only the last in a long line of intimidation efforts.” Not quite. Last month, an attack was launched from a different front.

 

Several organizations that are not even parties to the lawsuit went to court in an attempt to disqualify the ACLU’s lawyers — Dorsey & Whitney — from representing the ACLU on grounds that Dorsey personnel had previously communicated with Zaman about entities involved in the litigation. The organizations include the Muslim American Society of Minnesota (MAS-MN), MAS-MN Property Holding Corporation and the Minnesota Education Trust (MET).

 

What might they fear? Perhaps that Dorsey lawyers are in a position to prove that the scandal thus far — and Zaman’s role in it — is just the tip of the iceberg. Dorsey lawyers had this to say in a Sept. 10 letter filed with the court:

 

“The ACLU believes Mr. Zaman’s testimony relating to control of virtually every significant event at TiZA, MAS-MN, MET and MET’s subsidiaries, coupled with his efforts to hide such control, constitute powerful evidence against TiZA’s denials that it is a Muslim school and that it funnels state and federal money to other Muslim organizations.”

 

Every time we read about this lawsuit, we have to pinch ourselves and say: We’re talking about a public, taxpayer-funded school.
