Debunking the Jade Helm 15 Conspiracy Theory

Uh Oh Warning Sign

As of this posting Justin Smith has written four comments pertaining to the post “The Jade Helm 15 Drill is a Martial Law, Civil War and “Red List” Extraction Drill”. In full disclosure I am a huge fan of Justin Smith’s writings and he is a frequent contributor to one of my blogs SlantRight 2.0. In saying that Justin’s comments signify that he finds the Conspiracy Theory about Jade Helm 15 being a practice exercise for a future interagency/U.S. Military instituting martial law on American soil to be a bunch of baloney.

Justin is so passionate about his belief that Jade Helm 15 is baloney that he uses profanity (which I have edited) to demonstrate his displeasure. If you have Justin’s submissions here you are fully aware that he is one NOT prone to profanity. Hence as a respecter of his opinion I trust his thoughts.

In his comments below I am going to add some context links to some info that Justin uses to debunk the Jade Helm 15 Conspiracy Theory. The title used is by me the Editor to aggregate Justin’s comments produced here in four separate segments.

Feel free to chime in with comments with whether or not you believe Justin Smith. I hope there is a enough of a sane discussion that future posts are derived.

This is pure unadulterated BULLS**T! I just went through debunking this with a FB “friend” [I wonder this is the guy] who deleted my comments after asking to have it “debunked”. Some people are only interested in sounding or looking more intelligent than they really are and they care not one whit about the Truth!
David Hodges is one such FOOL
, who writes for DC Clothesline, which is a miserable rag that places just enough truth within its stories to make them plausible to those low-informed readers, who are willing to accept anything without properly researching it for themselves.

I have caught Hodges in so many factual errors, that now when I see his name attached to anything, I automatically discard it. Hodges is a buffoon and a base liar as far as I’m concerned.

Anyone subscribing to this conspiracy simply doesn’t understand the mechanisms and methods at play here. There are many concerns with the NDAA certainly. And despite its illegal and unConstitutional nature, the military leaders will abide by Posse Comitatus as a matter of honor, unless they can be politicized by future Progressive Administrations.

If people want to be concerned, they should look toward the use of the Homeland Security/TSAA [Editor: Going out on limb to guess Justin means TSA], the intelligence groups [See Also USNewsAndWorldReport], progressive groups such as ACORN/MoveOn.org as the other army that Obama spoke of growing and the possible use of military contractors such as Blackwater in conjunction with REX 84.

But even this could not and will not succeed as long as Americans are armed and still have the 2nd Amendment. Plus, no self-respecting U.S. soldier would or will go along with the idea being put forth in this piece of s**t article. Special Forces have long been engaging in these sort of exercises on expansive military lands and throughout federal land areas; this is nothing new.

Army Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria, a USASOC [See Also HERE] spokesman, confirmed that there is an upcoming exercise called Jade Helm 15 which is scheduled to take place this summer at locations in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, California and Nevada. But he denied the event is preparation for some sort of military takeover.

“That notion was proposed by a few individuals who are unfamiliar with how and why USASOC conducts training exercises,” he said in an email. “This exercise is routine training to maintain a high level of readiness for Army Special Operations Forces because they must be ready to support potential missions anywhere in the world on a moment’s notice.”

This is a fact and represents an interesting and potential danger for all America. Rex 84 was started under Reagan in 1984 and it is directed towards any potential natural catastrophe scenario or nuclear war or any other situation that might have devastating effects on the country and cause a societal upheaval.

Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, was a classified “scenario and drill” developed by the United States federal government to suspend the United States Constitution, declare martial law, place military commanders in charge of state and local governments, and detain large numbers of American citizens .

In May 2007, Bush signed executive new orders NSDP51 and HSDP20 to replace REX84. The older order REX84 was an older directive to establish martial law in the event of a national emergency. Everything done in government is done for a reason, and these two new orders are no exception. These new directives surprised and alarmed many real conservatives and true patriots at the time.

These two orders established that the White House Administration would take over all local governments under a national state of emergency, instead of Homeland Security. In May 2007, The Washington Post apparently saw nothing wrong with it and placed the story back on page 13 (a fitting unlucky number for it), according to a CSPAN television interview with well-known author and writer Jerome Corsi [See Also HERE]:

Obama’s DoD v The Constitution

I am a huge fan of The Patriot Post and Mark Alexander. Indeed, I have a Patriot Post banner on my SlantRight 2.0 blog in which you can click to receive a free subscription of the online magazine in your inbox.

On Wednesday Alexander posted an exposé of the United States Air Force Academy’s persecution of religious freedom in which points a finger at guess who for officially instituting such a policy? If you are a Conservative you KNOW it was the America’s own Marxist-in-Chief President Barack Hussein Obama. The atheist tool needling Obama’s military policy at the Air Force Academy (AFA) is Mikey Weinstein.

I am cross posting Mark Alexander’s essay below in its entirety. Interspersed throughout the essay are “Comment” and “Share” links which I am leaving intact. Feel free to utilize them but note the links are under the auspices of The Patriot Post and not my blog.

Obama’s DoD v The Constitution

Suppressing 1st Amendment Religious Expression in the Air Force

By Mark Alexander

Mar. 19, 2014

The Patriot Post

Email Notification Sent: 3/19/2014 1:07 PM

“God who gave us life gave us Liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever.” –Thomas Jefferson (1774)

Yet another case of BO’s D-O-D v G-O-D…

During the rancorous debates that preceded passage of the 2014 DefenseUSAFA Free Thinkers ad - Ask an Atheist Day budget – the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 – one of the proposed amendments was designed to protect the First Amendment rights of members of the Armed Services.

The NDAA as signed by Barack Hussein Obama in December of 2013 included an amendment based on the protective rights language proposed by Rep. John Calvin Fleming (R-LA). Regarding that amendment, Fleming noted: “The conscience rights of our men and women in uniform and their chaplains must be protected. While existing protections have focused on their beliefs, my amendment will extend that protection to the liberty granted by the U.S. Constitution, namely the freedom to exercise those beliefs in speech and actions. This amendment is aimed at stopping the unjust threats and reprimands against service members who have been speaking or acting in accord with their deeply held beliefs, while ensuring that military necessity and readiness are not compromised.”

Indeed, Section 532 of the NDAA, the “Enhancement of protection of rights of conscience of members of the Armed Forces and chaplains of such members,” was implemented as a first step toward achieving that goal.

Last week, however, the Air Force Academy, with a little help from perennial atheist agitator Mikey Weinstein, tested the protection of those rights. Recall that Weinstein heads the “Military Religious Freedom Foundation,” or what would be more aptly named the “Military Freedom From Religion Foundation.” (Other Service Academies are not burdened with Weinstein because he has made the AFA his testing ground for atheist challenges.)

One of Weinstein’s resident cadre of campus atheists complained to the Academy’s Superintendent, Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson, about a Bible verse posted on a Cadet’s dorm door whiteboard: “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me…” (Gal. 2:20) Those erasable whiteboards are on all Cadet doors, and they are used for personal messages and statements. There is no AFA restriction on what can be posted on them, and Cadets have a respectful understanding of what might be offensive to others – which most assuredly should not include a Bible verse.

That notwithstanding, it was promptly “suggested” to the Cadet that he remove the Bible verse, even though such posts are common.

Johnson claimed in an official statement, “The scripture [on the Cadet’s door] could cause subordinates to doubt the leader’s religious impartiality.”

Really?

On Tuesday of this week, a Cadet with the same leadership rank and position in his squadron as the Cadet who posted the Bible verse on his dorm door, invited the entire Cadet Wing, both in a public announcement to the Wing assembled and by official AFA email, to the “Ask and Atheist Day” event. The event flyer was advertised all week on Academy bulletin screens.

So, are we to believe then that promoting atheism to the entire Cadet Wing through official channels does not raise doubts about “the leader’s religious impartiality”?

The Cadets who contacted me about the atheist event indicated that they were not objecting to the promotion of that event, but to the hypocrisy of that promotion, versus a fellow Cadet being asked to remove a Bible verse from his door. Obviously, only the Christian expression of faith is the target of AFA discrimination, and it is Johnson’s “religious impartiality” which should be in contention.

AFA Cadet White Boards with Scriptures

Of note, Johnson’s press release stated, “While we swear an oath to Support and Defend the Constitution of the United States, Airmen are also bound by [Air Force Instruction 1-1].” (Shouldn’t that read “Airpersons”?) Instruction 1-1 is a regulation put into place in 2009 by Obama’s DoD administrators to suppress religious speech.

Johnson’s reference to “swear an oath” is ironic, given that, as The Patriot Post first reported last year, somebody at the AFA removed the words “So Help Me God” from the Officer and Enlisted Oaths in the AFA’s official handbook. Those words were removed in 2010 and are still AWOL from the current handbook – in violation of federal statutes and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

My column, “End Run on ‘So Help Me God’,” details this omission, and the matter is now the subject of a Freedom of Information Act inquiry to determine who removed those words and why. (I bet Mikey Weinstein’s name pops up.) Suffice it to say that removing “So Help Me God” from official oaths is a far more egregious offense than the current dispute over the Bible verse, but both fall into the same category of faith suppression. However, we may never get an answer given that “the most transparent administration” has stonewalled far more FOIA requests than any other administration.

Regarding the whiteboard Bible verse, Weinstein told Fox News that it “clearly elevated [fundamentalist Christianity] over all others at an already virulently hyper-fundamentalist Christian institution.” He added, “It massively poured fundamentalist Christian gasoline on an already raging out-of-control conflagration of fundamentalist Christian tyranny, exceptionalism and supremacy at USAFA. You cannot put a picture in front of your room of a white person whipping a black person. You can’t put a picture of anything that’s denigrating outside your room.”

Got that? Posting a passage from the Bible on one’s personal whiteboard is akin to posting a picture “of a white person whipping a black person.” (Shades of Joseph Goebbels in Weinstein’s über -hyperbolic rhetoric.)

Former spec ops commander Lt. Gen. William “Jerry” Boykin (USA Ret.) says, “The very troops who defend our religious freedom are at risk of having their own taken away. The worst thing we can do is to stop Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, especially the chaplains, from the free exercise of their faith. … If a scripture scares [the AFA administrators] this much, then [some of those they are training] may not be very effective when confronted by a committed enemy who is willing to die for his or her beliefs. This academy should be training warriors. Scripture is hardly a threat.”

The AFA’s leadership malfeasance spilled over into Air Force budgetA.F. Secretary Deborah Lee James & A.F. Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh testimony before Congress last Friday, with both Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James and Air Force Chief of Staff General Mark Welsh being asked for a detailed explanation of why the AFA is suppressing religious expression. Reps. Doug Lamborn (R-CO), Joe Wilson (R-SC), Michael Turner (R-OH), Mike McIntyre (D-NC) and Randy Forbes (R-VA) pressed for answers.

Lamborn noted, “The Air Force Academy is in my district, and … I’m very disturbed by what happened with this Cadet. I think it’s a suppression of religious rights.” He has written a letter of protest to Johnson, noting, “We are asking future officers to perhaps give even their very lives to protect and defend the Constitution and yet denying them rights from that same Constitution.”

As Forbes put it to Sec. James, “Can you imagine a young Cadet when he’s forced with the entire chain of command coming in there and telling him basically this is inappropriate?” He objected further, “Perhaps most offensive, the Air Force said this was a teaching moment, that the Cadet’s action of putting the Bible verse on [the whiteboard] was inappropriate based on leadership principles.”

Forbes then asked Gen. Welsh, “What other inspirational quotes have Cadets been forced to remove from their personal whiteboards other than verses from the Bible?”

Welsh insisted the “single biggest frustration I’ve had in this job is the perception that somehow there is religious persecution in the United States Air Force.” He added, “We remove hundreds of quotes from those boards. … You have to get the facts right on every one of these cases.”

Now, I’ve met Gen. Welsh, and I found him to be in possession of strong character and leadership qualities – and a devoted Christian. But if he’s been told that the AFA has removed “hundreds of quotes from those boards,” I for one would like to see the evidence of those removals, preferably without issuing another FOIA request. According to a response I received from Gen. Welsh regarding the issue of “So Help Me God” being removed from the AFA’s official handbook, he was told that was “a printing error on a wall calendar,” not an obvious omission from the handbook.

Memo to Gen. Welsh: You can’t “get the facts right” if somebody at the AFA is feeding you misinformation.

So what now?

To ratchet up the stakes, some AFA Cadets are standing their ground in protest by posting this offensive note on their door whiteboards: “IN GOD WE TRUST”. By “offensive,” I mean an offensive strategic move to challenge the culture of religious suppression at the AFA. (The Patriot Post is offering 4″x6″ stickers with our flag over the words “IN GOD WE TRUST” free of charge to Cadets at any service academy. E-mail GodTrust@PatriotPost.US to inquire about obtaining quantities of these stickers.)

US Flag - In God We Trust

Of course, Mikey Weinstein is furious: “This is an absolutely horrible, shameful disgrace. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an open rebellion like this happening at any military academy. It’s like they’re sticking their middle finger up at what the academy did.”

Will AFA Superintendent Johnson demand our National Motto be removed from her Cadets’ doors?

If so, a religious Liberty coalition, including the Family Research Council, the Alliance Defending Freedom, the Liberty Counsel, the Liberty Institute and the Thomas More Law Center, announced they will provide legal defense for any Cadet brought up on charges.

Liberty Institute attorney Mike Berry believes the AFA actions are a direct violation of Section 532 of the NDAA as noted previously, saying, “If the Cadet didn’t violate any rules, then why was the quote removed? … This is not only morally wrong, it’s illegal. … We met with Col. Paul Barzler, the Air Force Academy Staff Judge Advocate [and] pointed out that under the Constitution, federal law, and military regulations, Cadets have the right to religious exercise. I was shocked when he responded that [according to Obama’s DoD policy] the term ‘religious exercise’ does not include written or verbal speech.”

Personally, I’m not sure why anyone would be shocked at any directive from the Obama administration.

Under the pretense of “religious tolerance,” Obama’s administration has been advancing his mandate to remove all expressions of faith from government forums. This eradication serves the Left’s strategic objective of replacing Rule of Law with the rule of men – because the former is predicated on the principle of Liberty “endowed by our Creator,” while the latter asserts that Liberty is the gift of government.

Stand your ground, Cadets!

Obama’s Disgust for Christianity Observed in NDAA

BHO vs Christianity banner

John R. Houk

Militant atheists and Americans that believe themselves to be Christians yet demand that Christianity be removed from the Public Realm are degrading American Culture. The Founding Fathers – even those devoted to Deism – acknowledged Christianity or at the very least Christian principles, to be the center of beneficial laws under a government.

I received an email from Mathew Staver of the Liberty Counsel pertaining to a militant atheist that is a Christian-Hater in particular. Stave informs that atheist Mikey Weinstein is a huge influence on President Barack Hussein Obama. What a surprise, right?

There is some bipartisan agreement to add an amendment to the next National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which will allow members of the Military the Religious Freedom of expression that all civilian Americans enjoy under the First Amendment (OR DO WE?).

Guess who is strongly opposing this Religious Freedom Amendment as part of the NDAA? If you read my posts you have probably made the correct guess that President Barack Hussein Obama is resisting the Religious Freedom Amendment to the NDAA. According Mat Staver it is Mikey Weinstein that is exerting advice on how to resist Religious Liberty in the United States Military. However, there is a history of Obama Administration extricating Religious Freedom out of our Military. Ted Starnes has an article in Townhall.com entitled, “Groups Say Religious Liberty in Military is in Danger”.

Starnes writes about the Religious Freedom Amendment, Obama’s opposition to it, lists a short list of Anti-Christian rules imposed on Servicemen and the twelve Groups (including Liberty Counsel) that are engaging with Congress to make sure Religious Freedom is available in the Military.

You can read Obama’s contempt for Christianity RedState.com:

The amendment was authored by Rep. John Fleming, R-La. It would have “required the Armed Forces to accommodate ‘actions and speech’ reflecting the conscience, moral, principles or religious beliefs of the member.”

The Obama Administration said the amendment would have a “significant adverse effect on good order, discipline, morale, and mission accomplishment.”

“With its statement, the White House is now endorsing military reprimands of members who keep a Bible on their desk or express a religious belief,” Fleming told Fox News. “This administration is aggressively hostile towards religious beliefs that it deems to be politically incorrect.” (Bold Emphasis Mine – Obama ‘Strongly Objects’ to Religious Liberty Amendment; by toddstarnes (Diary); Red State; 6/13/13 03:51 PM)

If Leftists, Democrats and Separation Church-State secularists don’t see this as a war on Christianity they either lying or are ignorant. Now that I think of it probably both lying and ignorant.

This is crazy and unconstitutional. Activist Living Constitution Judges and Justices have brought America to this point in which Christianity is slowly being stripped out of the fabric of America. Christian Morality is what has made America great and exceptional. Without Christianity ceases to be exceptional.

Atheists and Democrats believe they have hit the nail on the head when they propagandize that the majority of the Founding Fathers were not Christians because they were Deists – minions of the Enlightenment that did not regard the supernatural of any religion let alone Christianity.

The haters of Christianity fail to inform that Deists in America differed from Deists in Europe and France in particular. French Deists were as close to being atheists without denying the existence of religion completely. American Deists contrarily and in the majority had a high regard for the principle inherent in Christianity that contributed societal morality and civil order.

See what you can glean from some Founding Fathers involve the Declaration of Independence, the writing of the Constitution and the ratification of the Constitution. Consider some these quotes in no particular order from the Founding Fathers:

Thomas Jefferson

We commit our injuries to the even-handed justice of that Being, Who doth no wrong, earnestly beseeching Him to illuminate the councils, and prosper the endeavors of those to whom America hath confided her hopes, that through their wise direction we May again see reunited the blessings of liberty, property, and harmony with Great Britain. “Whereas true religion and good morals are the only solid foundations of public liberty and happiness . . . it is hereby earnestly recommended to the several States to take the most effectual measures for the encouragement thereof.” (From Quotes of the Founding Fathers)

“We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings, that “except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it.” I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages. Alexander Hamilton (A Federalist Paper author)

“Whether the New Constitution, if adopted, will prove adequate to such desirable ends, time, the mother of events, will show.  For my own part, I sincerely esteem it a system, which, without the finger of God, never could have been suggested and agreed upon by such a diversity of interests.”

“The Sacred Rights of Mankind are not to be rummaged for among old parchments or musty records.  They are written, as with a sunbeam, in the whole volume of human nature, by the Hand of the Divinity itself; and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power.”

“The results of your joint deliberations hitherto, will, I trust, be productive of solid and durable advantages to our constituents, and which, by conciliating more and more their approbation, may tend to strengthen their attachment to that constitution of government upon which depend, under Divine Providence, their union, safety, and prosperity.”

“The scruples of delicacy and propriety, as relative to a common course of things, ought to yield to the extraordinary nature of the crisis.  They ought not to hinder the taking of a legal and constitutional step to prevent an atheist in religion, and a fanatic in politics, from getting possession of the helm of state.”

“The pious and moral weep over these scenes as a sepulchre destined to entomb all they revere and esteem.  The politician who loves liberty, sees them with regret as a gulf that may swallow up the liberty to which he is devoted.  He knows that morality overthrown (and morality must fall with religion), the terrors of despotism can alone curb the impetuous passions of man, and confine him within the bounds of social duty.” (Read More at Quotes from Alexander Hamilton)

“[It is] the duty of all wise, free, and virtuous governments to countenance and encourage virtue and religion.” – United States Founding Father, John Jay, “The Speeches of the Different Governors to the Legislature of the State of New York, Commencing with Those of George Clinton and Continued Down to the Present Time”, (Albany: J.B. Van Steenbergh, 1825), p. 66, Govenor John Jay, November 4, 1800

“Whether our religion permits Christians to vote for infidel rulers is a question which merits more consideration than it seems yet to have generally received either from the clergy or the laity. It appears to me that what the prophet said to Jehoshaphat about his attachment to Ahab [2 Chronicles 19:2] affords a salutary lesson.” – United States Founding Father, John Jay, “The Correspondence and Public Papers of John Jay, 1794-1826”, Henry P. Johnson, editor, (New York: G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 1893), Vol.IV, p. 365

2 Chronicles 19: 1-3 (NKJV):

1 Then Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned safely to his house in Jerusalem. 2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you. 3 Nevertheless good things are found in you, in that you have removed the wooden images from the land, and have prepared your heart to seek God.” [SlantRight Editor: Bold Emphasis Mine – The Scripture quote is added by me]

“I … recommend a general and public return of praise and thanksgiving to Him from whose goodness these blessings descend. The most effectual means of securing the continuance of our civil and religious liberties is always to remember with reverence and gratitude the source from which they flow.” – United States Founding Father, John Jay, “The Life of John Jay: With Selections From His Correspondence and Miscellaneous Papers”, (New York: J.J. Harper, 1833), Vol. I, pp. 457-458, to the Committee of the Corporation of the City of New York, June 29, 1826 (Read more at United States Founding Fathers – John Jay Quotes)

I should include George Washington and the other signers of the Constitution sent to be ratified by the States that eventually created the United States of America; however Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, Hamilton and Jay were influential in the establishment and early interpretation of the Constitution. Jefferson was actually away representing the Articles of Confederation government as Ambassador to France and had no actual hand in what was in the Constitution other than his friendship with James Madison. The point though is this: The Constitutional Framers regardless of their affinity to Christianity either as a traditional Believer or as a Deist asserted that Christianity was essential to the formation of the USA and Christianity would be basis of virtuous and moral foundation for Society and government.

Below is Mat Staver’s email about Mikey Weinstein and Obama’s disdain for Religious Freedom in the Military. AND there is a link to sign a petition to use as leverage to get Congress to listen that Religious Freedom for all Americans – Civilian and Military.

According to his own organization, the so-called Military Religious Freedom Foundation, “Mikey Weinstein is the undisputed leader of the national movement to restore the obliterated wall separating church and state in the most technologically lethal organization ever created by humankind: the United States armed forces.”

Mikey Weinstein is also responsible for publishing some of the most vile and abusive rhetoric used against American Christians, particularly those serving in the military. He has access to the Pentagon and is shaping President Obama’s anti-religion policy there.

Please carefully read my important update below – Mat.

John,

Don’t let the bogus name Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) fool you. What Mikey Weinstein wants is freedom FROM religion, particularly in the United States military.

I don’t need to characterize Weinstein to you. Instead, his own words tell you everything you need to know about this dangerous anti-Christian activist.

In response to the Religious Liberties Amendment being appended to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) – a measure Liberty Counsel is strongly supporting – Weinstein said this on his MRFF website…

“This danger [to our troops] is not a “jihad” of exotic, international origin. Quite on the contrary, it is a homegrown Holy War emanating from belligerent fundamentalist Christian bigots in government who delight in fancying themselves as the prodigiously proselytizing foot-soldiers of a modern-day ‘Crusade.’ The latest vicious whirlwind imperiling our service members, and consequently our national security, comes in a two-pronged effort to implant “Religious Freedom” amendments in the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

Section 530 [of the NDAA Amendment] would allow every bigoted slimeball within the American armed forces – the homophobes, Islamophobes, anti-Semites, misogynists, anti-Constitutionalists, fundamentalist/dominionist Christians, and/or all of the above – to be given absolute free rein to slither out of their stinking closets of putrid prejudice and spout their twisted, Christian-jihad poison”(emphasis is as originally written).

++The MRFF’s attacks on Liberty University.

Weinstein is outspokenly against any Christian influence whatsoever on our military.  One recent MRFF headline reads, “‘Drones for Christ’: The Horrifying Prospects of Merging Church & State in the U.S. Military,” and the body of the article demonizes Liberty University’s cutting-edge aviation programs….

“Liberty bills itself as ‘one of America’s top military-friendly schools.’ It trains chaplains for the various branches of the military. And it trains pilots in its School of Aeronautics (SOA) – pilots who go up in planes and drone pilots who sit behind desks wearing pilot suits… Liberty has been turning out ‘Christ-centered aviators’ for a decade… [This] starkly illustrates the immense gravity of MRFF’s mission.”

The MRFF mission is clear:  To demean and belittle people of faith while promoting a religion-free military and destroying the First Amendment rights of our servicemen and women.

+Weinstein’s extraordinary Pentagon and White House access.

It’s clear he is a vicious anti-Christian blowhard, but just how influential is Mikey Weinstein?

According to the Huffington post, in a recent demonstration of his personal power, Weinstein called the Pentagon and demanded that the Air Force remove a painting from one of their offices entitled “Blessed are the Peacemakers.”  He gave them one hour to comply and in 56 minutes the painting was gone.

In 2012, Weinstein was declared one of the “100 Most Influential People in U.S. Defense” by Defense News. Weinstein also won the “Person of the Year” award from Americans United for Separation of Church and State in 2011.

++Weinstein’s mission is now Barack Obama’s mission.

Mikey Weinsten’s influence in the administration’s military policy making is one of the major reasons why the Religious Liberties Amendment must be passed in the Senate!

Service members turning to God and relying on their faith for personal strength in times of danger is a practice as old as mankind itself, yet our President has deemed that expressions of faith somehow undermine “good order” in the military!

We are calling for the Senate to pass the Religious Liberties Amendment as proposed by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Ted Cruz (R-TX), amending the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

We have drafted a petition which will be delivered to leaders in the United States Senate strongly declaring, “I Support the Religious Liberties Amendment” and we need your name to be included.

Click here to add your name to this important petition:

++Our defenders need to be defended from the likes of Mikey Weinstein!

Our servicemen and women put their lives on the line every day in order to protect our constitutionally guaranteed rights, including the expression of our beliefs.  Congress must ensure that we are protecting them, as well!

I urge you to take a minute right now and support our military in this tangible way by defending their rights – even as they fight to defend ours.

Click here to stand against Mikey Weinstein’s anti-Christian counsel, his so-called Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and President Obama’s threat to veto the entire NDAA if it passes with the Religious Liberty Amendment attached…

http://www.libertyaction.org/385/petition.asp

Liberty Counsel wants the Religious Liberties Amendment overwhelmingly passed in the Senate as it did in the House!

We want to force President Obama to make good on his outrageous “veto” promise or make him back down when the opportunity arises!

That’s why we are aggressively calling for a bipartisan passage of the Religious Liberties Amendment in the United States Senate.

If you are already one of the many thousands of signers of this petition to pass the Religious Liberties Amendment, please consider sharing this link on your social network pages:

God bless you for taking this important action with me!

Mathew Staver, Founder and Chairman

P.S. Mikey Weinstein and his organization are hell-bent on removing religion from the ranks of our military and demonizing people of faith.

Weinstein’s malicious rhetoric and work in oppostion to the Religious Liberties Amendment is all the more reason why we MUST see that the RLA passes. Please do everything you can to help further this cause.

Stand For Liberty

Rand Paul filibuster

Justin Smith utilizes Senator Rand Paul’s recent filibuster as the foundational starting point to write about the Obama Administration’s – with Attorney General Eric Holder as a reference – abuse of the U.S. Constitution.

Stand For Liberty

In a fascinating and charismatic stand for Our U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights and Liberty for all Americans, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) demanded on March 6, 2013 that Obama and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder specifically give clarification regarding the Obama administration’s policy on using unmanned armed aircraft (drones) overseas and on American soil. When Holder gave several ambiguous statements and circled any honest answer pertaining to provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act, enacted by Executive Order on 12-31-12, allowing the president to detain U.S. citizens indefinitely and to kill Americans who are deemed terrorists or “enemy combatants,” Senator Paul vowed to block the nomination of John Brennan to head the CIA until he received some satisfactory answers (Presidents have long used the word “privelege” in Article I Sec 9 as a tool to ignore habeas corpus). And thus ensued an amazing lesson in government and the U.S. Constitution, as Senator Paul delivered a thirteen hour filibuster!

Twelve other Republicans and one Democrat, Ron Wyden (Oregon) supported Paul during his 13 hour soliloquy, but the bulk of the Republican Party was notably and unfortunately missing in action during this intense, momentous and historic moment, which prompted Senator Paul’s observation, “If there were an ounce of courage in this body I would be joined by other senators… saying they will not tolerate this.” So, in stark contrast Senator Rand Paul struck a blow for all Americans and Liberty, as Republican-in-name-only Senator Lamar Alexander’s (R-TN) office would not divulge his whereabouts during the filibuster; and, RHINO Senator Bob Corker (R-TN), who had dinner with Obama and eleven others during the filibuster, gushed like a teenage girl over the attention they received, as they were groomed to once more betray their constituency and the American people regarding upcoming financial matters.

Senators Graham (R-SC) and McCain (R-AZ) suggested that Senator Paul was doing “a disservice to Americans by making them think that somehow they’re in danger from their government.” As McCain added, “They’re not. But we are in danger from a dedicated longstanding, easily replaceable-leadership enemy that is hell bent on our destruction,” I thought that statement was fairly applicable to Obama and the Progressive Democrats as much as it was to Al Qaeda.

Remember that Holder has been undermining the U.S. legal system for a long time. The Holder Justice Department has prosecuted U.S. agents unfairly due to previously approved methods of interrogating terrorists, who have no standing under the U.S. Constitution (parallels “piracy”) or the Geneva Convention. Holder himself has represented Al Qaeda terrorists pro bono during his time with the law firm of Covington and Burling. He has unconstitutionally overseen the military trial of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Mohammed; now, he once again has conferred Constitutional rights on a terrorist/enemy combatant where none should exist and, in fact, do not exist in the case of Sulaiman Ghaith, Osama bin Laden’s son-in-law and chief propagandist for Al Qaeda. And this is the man we are supposed to trust when he states that “no intention” exists to use drone strikes in America… the very same Eric Holder who ignored due process in the international child custody case of Elian Gonzalez.

Due process of the law has been integral to the American way since George Mason and others penned the Bill of Rights, and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) pointedly stated, “The question of whether the United States government can kill a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil when that individual does not pose an imminent threat or grievous bodily harm is a fundamental issue of Liberty. It is an issue of enforcing the explicit language of Our Constitution.” It is within this context that all Americans must take pause and object to Holder’s reluctance and hesitancy to offer an unequivocal and certain, “No…the president does not have the authority to kill a U.S. citizen on American soil who is not engaged in combat,” as he eventually did on March 7, after a month and a half of pressure from Congress!

This controversy largely arose over the Obama refusal to allow Congress to see the legal opinions that authorize drone strikes, although regular reports have been made to the House and Senate Intelligence and Armed Forces Committees. The critical question centers on Congressional oversight of a covert war against suspected terrorists, as Obama has grabbed too much power and violated the U.S. Constitution in his so-called “efforts to keep the nation safe.”

Virginia E. Sloan, the president of the Constitution Project (civil liberties group/DC), stated in February, “We have this drone war, and the American public has no idea what the rules are, and Congress doesn’t know much more… speeches are absolutely no substitute for the actual memos in hand.”

Mark Potok, a senior fellow at the Southern Poverty Law Center, said: “What Rand Paul had to say about drones absolutely fired up conspiracy theorists on the left as well as the right.” Setting aside conspiracies, a known fact represents reality; and, America’s reality is an Obama administration and Homeland Security who warned of the ranks of potential terrorists being filled by “right wing extremists” and “Christian conservatives.”

Attorney General Holder has not told us the criteria used to mark a person as an enemy combatant. He also did not back off his contention that the president has the authority to pursue military action inside the U.S. in extraordinary circumstances, which is currently and technically correct; however, this also requires numerous signatures from the other branches of government, and it still gives the impression of flying in the face of Posse Comitatus [NCCR Editor: Read HERE, HERE and HERE]. And it was this assertion that sparked Senator Paul’s filibuster, as he declared, “I have allowed the president to pick his appointees… But I will not sit quietly and let him shred the Constitution.”

One should also note that the U.S. has developed miniature drone listening devices that go unnoticed as they hover over areas, like something out of Bradbury’s ‘Fahrenheit 451’ or Orwell’s ‘1984’. That’s well and good if they’re hovering over a terrorist camp, but do we really want to use this in America? … Embrace Big Brother… And even if we do, shouldn’t we still demand the application of the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments?

Over the course of the filibuster several senators, such as Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, attempted to lessen the strain of the effort on Senator Paul by asking questions and speaking themselves. Cruz read passages from ‘Henry V’ and lines from the movie ‘Patton’. At one point, Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL), who struggles with a cane due to a stroke, delivered hot tea and an apple to Paul’s desk, but a doorkeeper removed them; not to be outdone, House Republican Louie Gohmert from Texas stood off to the side of the Senate floor in a show of support.

One person can make a difference when they stand up for a righteous cause, and no one should take any U.S. President’s word, especially this one’s, that his administration’s policy in any area remains consistent with our laws and systems of checks and balances, regardless of claims of “transparency”. By offering his resolution stating that the use of unmanned, armed aircraft on U.S. soil against American citizens violates the Constitution and delivering 13 hours of explanation and education, Senator Paul opened the eyes of many Americans, who want a better balance between protecting our security and protecting our Liberty; even CodePink called and thanked him “for standing up against abuses of power.” So, the next time you hear Senator Rand Paul, or anyone, ask “are you so afraid that you are willing to trade your freedom for security,” reply “No!”…and stand up for Liberty!
