The surprising road ahead for WND

Online publications such as WND (formerly World Net Daily) face economic woes largely due to the Leftist monopoly of Online Media. In a recent WND e-newsletter David Kupelian writes about the effects of this media stranglehold. Among other Leftist entities that Conservatives are nearly forced to use due to a monopolistic Media, Kupelian uses Google and Facebook as prime examples.

At the end of the newsletter WND provides a link enabling you the reader to circumvent the demonetizing tendencies of monopolistic Media Left. As for this small potato blog, you can show your support HERE.

The surprising road ahead for WND
David Kupelian on defeating the left’s stealth takeover of the Internet

Dear WND reader,
Today, Monday, May 6, 2019, is WND’s 22nd anniversary as America’s first online journalism company. Thank you for your readership, loyalty and support over all these years. We deeply appreciate it. WND was here before Facebook, before Google, before almost all the other Big Tech companies that have come to dominate – and unfortunately, control – today’s Internet. Following is my candid assessment of where we are, the challenges we face in a much more hostile environment, and the clear road ahead for WND.

The Democratic Party – whose presidential candidates proudly advocate allowing convicted mass-murdering terrorists to vote, destroying America’s oil, gas and coal industries, ending private insurance, killing babies after they’re born, inviting never-ending hordes of illegal aliens to invade our country, and imposing socialism on the most successful free-market nation in history – could win the presidency and Congress next year.

How is that possible?

How could such an obviously lunatic – and catastrophic – worldview prevail in the United States of America, you ask?

There are several reasons, but let’s start with a big one: Lies take hold in the absence of truth, and the left is now deeply engaged in a campaign to eliminate truthful free speech and a free press in our beloved country.

I’m talking about the ongoing censorship and predatory monopolistic suppression of genuinely truth-based journalism.

You no doubt are already somewhat familiar with this. Every day, it seems, Facebook or Twitter or YouTube has banned or suspended or demonetized yet another conservative, Republican or Christian.

But behind such headlines, something far deeper and more consequential is happening.

The left in America – with its increasingly blatant totalitarian tendencies – already dominates most of our nation’s major institutions, from our colleges and universities, to today’s Democratic Party, to Hollywood, to the “mainstream media.” Well, now the same “progressive” left has succeeded in taking over yet another gigantic institution: the Internet.

Although WND has published many stories over the last year and a half exposing Google, Facebook and the other tech giants’ campaign to extinguish free speech and independent journalism, we probably understated the problem.

As the original online journalism organization, going way back to 1997, WorldNetDaily – like other independent news enterprises – has been enduring a powerful, concerted, multi-pronged attack.

First, there’s the all-out assault on our operating revenues.

“Journalism, sustained by traditional advertising, is dying,” confirms the respected Washington, D.C.-based Electronic Privacy Information Center, or EPIC. In the research center’s recent written testimony to Congress’s Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection, EPIC summarized its findings starkly: “Two companies [Google and Facebook] dominate the market. The privacy of internet users is under assault. The revenue model that sustained journalism is broken. The ad platforms are manipulated by foreign adversaries. Secrecy and complexity are increasing as accountability is diminished.”

To understand exactly how the “Digital Cartel” has managed to wreak so much havoc, read EPIC’s letter to Congress here.

Bear in mind that what enabled Google and Facebook to accomplish this – to essentially steal the life-sustaining advertising revenues from WND and other online news organizations – is their scandalous practice of invading your privacy and harvesting and monetizing your private, personal information. Totally unrepentant over this, Facebook is now going after your bank account.

But vanishing revenues are just part of the problem.

While Google and Facebook vacuum up four-fifths of all digital advertising, thereby depriving news sites like ours of their traditional lifeblood, these same mega-companies are simultaneously censoring, suppressing and “shadow-banning” independent, right-of-center news and opinion sources. It is now utterly indisputable that the Internet gatekeepers’ leftwing bias is fully baked into their algorithms, which is why – in an era when the Trump economy is expanding, with manufacturing finally returning to the U.S. and employment at record highs – for the past two years, it is almost exclusively stories claiming Trump is a traitorous Russian double-agent that have populated the Google or Facebook news feeds where tens of millions congregate to get their “news.”

Worse, you’ve no doubt heard that many of these Internet mega-companies now rely on the same corrupt hate group, the Southern Poverty Law Center, as their go-to expert on whom to discriminate against as purveyors of “hate speech.” (This, even though the SPLC’s top leaders have recently been ousted amid revelations of internal racial and sexual harassment!) The SPLC is best known for its “hate group” lists where it delights in lumping together genuinely honorable Christian/conservative organizations – like the American Family Association, Liberty Counsel, Alliance Defending Freedom, the Family Research Council and yours truly, WND – with actual hate groups like the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nations and the Westboro Baptist Church.

WorldNetDaily has long been featured on the SPLC’s ridiculous “hate/extremist” label. And since the Southern Poverty Law Center now determines what is “hate speech” or “fake news” for Google, Facebook and others, is it any wonder that these days, WND rarely shows up on a Google search unless you specify “WND” in your search, or else enter the exact WND headline?

There is much more going on, but hopefully it is now absolutely clear to you that, in a multitude of ways, the leftwing appropriation of the Internet is intent on accomplishing what it already has in America’s universities, popular culture, Democratic Party and establishment press. That is, to take it over, impose politically correct speech (and therefore thought) codes, and suppress dissident voices – in this case, making it extremely difficult for journalists animated by American, constitutional, biblical, commonsense values to do their job of digging out the truth and reporting it to you.

So, what does the future hold for WND and other independent media?

It’s no secret that WND has been severely impacted by this ongoing assault and is having to reinvent itself in many ways, from painful cost reductions including layoffs and pay-cuts, to optimizing remaining revenue sources, to inventing new and outside-the-box strategies in every part of our company.

Is there hope? Well, consider this.

Revered economist and technology futurist George Gilder, in his new book Life After Google: The Fall of Big Data and the Rise of the Blockchain Economy,” predicts Google will one day come to an end. Why? Because, says Gilder, at root Google’s “philosophy attempts to lay an axe to the root of human creativity, free will and man’s uniqueness as created in God’s image.”

Let me explain. Gilder, whose track record of anticipating future technology trends is impeccable, predicts that today’s extreme centralization of data, power and wealth will one day give way to a new age of decentralization, restored privacy and individual empowerment. That would mean Google-Facebook’s predatory monopolistic destruction of competitors, wanton invasion of privacy and ideological censorship also come to an end.

However, there’s a catch. Key to that better future, says Gilder, is understanding that the whole idea of “free” is an illusion. As we all have recently learned, when we access Facebook and Google for “free,” it’s only because it turns out we are the product being sold! In place of “free” services that exploit, monetize and censor us, says Gilder, new developments like blockchain technology, cryptocurrency and micropayments will one day play a crucial role in keeping the public square of information open, decentralized, healthy and thriving.

If all this still sounds a bit esoteric, let’s boil it down to its essence: Only one thing is immune to Google/Facebook’s censoring, stifling, starving and shadow-banning independent, pro-American news and analysis like WND. Only one thing can counteract Amazon sucking up all the ecommerce and crippling everyone else.

That one thing that trumps all the predatory business practices, censorship and utopian fantasies of the current Internet gatekeepers is the creativity and goodness of real people acting under the inspiration of Almighty God. Arrogant, wealthy mega-companies cannot interfere with genuine virtue and generosity working through human beings committed to helping each other.

We at WND would love nothing more than to be able to continue working our hearts out doing what we’ve been doing for you for the past 22 years. If you agree, help us. It’s just as simple as that.

The Digital Cartel – and for that matter, the rest of the dark forces of this world – cannot destroy an honorable relationship between you and us. We give to you, and you give back to us. There is no “free.” “It is always a lie,” says Gilder, “because on this earth nothing, in the end, is free.”

Timing is everything. Gilder’s hopeful predictions – that the tech giants will succumb to the self-destruct code they have unknowingly created, and that one day what he calls the “cryptocosm” will usher in a new era of unfettered Internet freedom where ideological censorship is no more, privacy is restored, and sovereign individuals happily pay a tiny amount for the content they like – may take years to come about.

But for WND to survive, that future has to be now.

Please help us today. Otherwise, we will not be around.

WND has a very large readership, millions of people who have freely benefited from its tireless and courageous journalism for two decades. If every reader chipped in just $10, or even as little as $3, we would have no financial problems at all, and in fact could expand our efforts to do even more! If you are able and inclined to donate more (to make up, very frankly, for the majority of people reading this who, for whatever reasons, will not respond), that would be wonderful. And most urgently, if you choose the monthly option for your donation, that helps us enormously as it provides a regular revenue base we can count on.

If you prefer to send a donation check, please mail it to: WND, 580 E. Street PO Box 100, Hawthorne, NV 89415-0100.

Please help us. Time is short. This is a time for action – for all of us. Our adversaries are not holding back, and we need to not hold back either. I pray you will be inspired to join us. Thank you and God bless you.

The Gaza Clashes: What’s Really Happening

By DANIEL POMERANTZ

HonestReporting

Since March 30, there have been intermittent protests, riots, and even armed attacks at the Gaza border.

Much of the media coverage has been so poorly informed or even outright misleading, that it can be almost impossible to understand what’s really happening. Israel has, in many cases, been made out to be a violent aggressor intentionally killing peaceful protesters.

Nothing could be farther from the truth.

That’s why HonestReporting will be actively monitoring, analyzing and communicating throughout these events.

Here, for your use and information, is what we’ve seen so far:

Re-cap of events

  • On April 1, we posted this explanation and analysis of the events up to that date. It was immediately clear that the “protests” also included molotov cocktails, burning tires, rock throwing, and in one case even live gunfire at the IDF.  There were ongoing attempts by rioters to breach the border fence and enter Israel.

  • Of the 30,000 Palestinians present, 16 were reportedly killed by IDF sniper fire. The figure later increased to 19.

  • It was well known since April 1 that at least ten of the casualties had clear affiliations to terror groups, including Hamas. An analysis of open-source information from Palestinian media brought that number up to 15, and HonestReporting was the first to publish that new information on April 5.

  • Another protest/riot on April 6 brought 20,000 people and new violence: including the burning of what may have been 10,000 tires, and further attempts to both attack IDF soldiers and to  infiltrate Israel under the resulting smokescreen. Meanwhile, and this is not a joke, Hamas is now blaming Israel for what it claims is a “shortage” of tires in Gaza. Seriously. You couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried.

Palestinian Protesters

  • A number of Palestinians criticized Hamas for publicizing the deaths of its members, including holding military funerals and rallies. The main objection can be summarized as follows: by revealing that so many of the deaths were actually terrorists, Hamas undermines the PR illusion that this was a “peaceful protest.”

International investigations?

Fatou Bensauda, CC by Max Koot Studio

In the meantime, numerous international parties, including UN Secretary General António Guterres and EU chief Federica Mogherini have begun calling for an international investigation into the actions of the IDF.  Whether Israel adequately investigates itself, and whether the allegations have sufficient gravity are likely to be the key issues in determining whether the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutes a case.

If the ICC does prosecute a case, Israel is not the only party under the microscope:  Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatou Bensouda has noted that Hamas or other Palestinian bodies could be subject to investigations related to war crimes for their use of civilians in covering violent activities.

The UN and EU, on the other hand, are primarily political bodies and can choose to launch their own investigations merely if their members wish to: without any regard to standards of international law.

When the dust settles and the burning-tire-smoke clears, international investigations will likely be the big remaining question.

In the meantime, the IDF has already appointed Brig. Gen. Moti Baruch, head of the General Staff’s Doctrine and Training Division to lead the IDF’s own investigation.

The latest updates

Some of the critical facts and images from Friday’s flare-up have made the mainstream news, yet some of the most informative have remained conspicuously absent.

Take, for example, this image round-up by Israellycool’s Aussie Dave: including telling, often dramatic pictures of events, some of which have not been published by any international news source.

Another telling scene was captured in this photo of a swastika flying alongside Palestinian flags, with tire-smoke all around:

A few nay-sayers on Twitter tried to claim the image was photo-shopped, until they came face to face with this video of the same:

Proof Swastika Not Photoshopped video

http://s22592.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/WhatsApp-Video-2018-04-06-at-21.41.40.mp4?_=1

And speaking of tire-smoke: in this particularly shameless tweet, the Palestine diplomatic office in the US preposterously claims that Hamas’s own tire-fire is actually an Israeli nerve agent.

Here is some additional video of tires and fires throughout the area.

Next time you hear about Palestinians throwing “stones,” keep in mind that in at least some cases, this is what they are really talking about:

Just outside Gaza, JPost’s Seth Frantzman caught up with Richard Kemp, former commander, British forces, Afghanistan. Kemp took the media to task pointing out that they don’t necessarily fully understand events even if they’re physically close up. Specifically, Kemp clarified that this is not a “peaceful demonstration” as is often portrayed by the media but rather:

…a deliberate and specific intent by a major terrorist organization, recognized around the world as terrorists, to penetrate the border of the State of Israel.

Arab world reacts

Though reactions are mixed, at least some residents of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan and other Arab countries, took to social media to lambaste Hamas for its exploitation of the inhabitants of Gaza. Meanwhile, despite a show of support at the official level, it seems Palestinians in the West Bank were largely apathetic to the events in Gaza. Notably, top Palestinian Authority cleric Mahmoud al-Habbash declared:

[Hamas is] sending Gazans to their deaths for good headlines… [is] trading in suffering and blood [and] no longer fools Palestinian people.

And though it’s not in the Arab world, as long as we’re talking reactions we should give credit where it’s due: Reuters was one of the few publications to ask Israelis living near Gaza what they think. Here’s one example:

“I’m sorry about what is happening there. I know the situation is very, very difficult,” Israeli farmer Daniel Rahamim said about economic hardship in Gaza, the Palestinian enclave ruled by Hamas, an Islamist group that advocates Israel’s destruction.

“But I don’t talk about a peace deal anymore. Maybe we can achieve a long-term ceasefire,” Rahimim, 63, said as he irrigated his crops. He said his 24-year-old daughter, still “traumatized by rockets” left the area after the demonstrations started.

Finally, if there was any doubt about the real point of these protests and riots, Hamas leader Yehya Al-Sinwar was crystal clear:

Yehya al-Sinwar quote on killing Jews (Hamas Leader)

Our Guiding Principles

  1. We believe Israel is entitled to fair treatment by the world press according to the same standards applied to any other country.

  1. We believe that public opinion is significantly shaped by media coverage.

  1. We believe that biased coverage of Israel distorts the public’s understanding of Israel and its motives, creating an obstacle to a peaceful resolution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.

  1. We believe people have as much right to criticize Israel as any other state. However, when criticism turns to demonization or delegitimization, it is no longer legitimate criticism.

  1. We believe that the media must be transparent, relevant, accurate, balanced, and ethical. Journalists, editors and publishers must be held accountable for slanted coverage.

  1. We support the working definition of anti-Semitism as adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance in May 2016. We note the fact that this definition stipulates that “Manifestations [of anti-Semitism] might include the targeting of the state of Israel, conceived as a Jewish collectivity.”

I voted for Donald Trump for President. Although I am not surprised, I am a bit annoyed the Left Stream Media is still printing propaganda and disinformation on the Trump team even though his election is a done deal. I am convinced the desperate Dems and their Leftist friends in the Mainstream Media (MSM – aka Left Stream Media) will character assassinate every single Cabinet and Advisor appoint from President-Elect Trump.

Here are a collection of Pro-Bannon posts defending him from the false accusations and false narratives of White Nationalism and Antisemitism.

Character assassination of Stephen Bannon is an attack on all Trump supporters

By Robert Romano

11.17.2016

NetRightDaily

Stephen Bannon, former Breitbart News Chief Executive is one of the true Donald Trump supporters in the incoming Trump administration.

Bannon was an incredibly effective force for the successful Trump campaign as its CEO, which he was appointed to in August. Now he has been named chief strategist and senior counselor by Trump, a top-tier position in the White House.

Bannon will be the conscience of the White House. As an outsider Bannon will serve as a counterweight to Reince Priebus as Chief of Staff, who is now the outgoing Republican National Committee Chairman. He will likely provide advice to Trump that will differ from that given by Washington, D.C. establishment types. It will help keep Trump honest and remind him of the commitments he made to his political base. Nothing wrong with that.

And so, it is no surprise then that the long knives are now out to take Bannon out. Now, there is the unproven charge being pushed by a few media outlets that Bannon is a white supremacist and anti-Semitic. Total nonsense.

This attempt at character assassination of Bannon is no less than an attack on all Trump supporters, who backed Trump’s message on America first, trade and illegal immigration regardless of race. This deplorable attack on a man who did nothing wrong must not stand.

“That’s just folks that are bitter the election’s over,” Jason Miller, Trump campaign spokesman, said to reporters outside Trump Tower on Wednesday. “They didn’t get the result that they wanted.”

Miller said Bannon is of “very high character” and is “someone who’s been a fantastic example of really being inclusive” and “who’s embraced diversity at every step.”

Miller added, “I think he’ll do a great job working with chief of staff Reince Priebus… to implement President-elect Trump’s vision.”

In fact, at a talk to the Vatican from 2014, Bannon actually dismissed anti-Semitic and racist elements in European nationalist movements as “fringe” that “all gets washed out,” according to a transcript released by Buzzfeed: “I’m not an expert in this, but it seems that they have had some aspects that may be anti-Semitic or racial. Some that are fringe organizations. My point is that over time it all gets kind of washed out, right? People understand what pulls them together, and the people on the margins I think get marginalized more and more.”

In the meantime, top Democrat and emeritus law professor at Harvard University Alan Dershowitz defended Bannon in a telephone interview, saying, “I think we have to be very careful before we accuse any particular individual of being an anti-Semite. The evidence certainly suggests that Mr. Bannon has very good relationships with individual Jews. My former researcher, Joel Pollak, is an Orthodox Jew who takes off the Jewish holidays, who is a committed Jew and a committed Zionist, and he has worked closely with him. He has been supportive of Israel.”

Dershowitz added, “I haven’t seen any evidence of personal anti-Semitism on the part of Bannon,” and “it is not legitimate to call somebody an anti-Semite because you might disagree with their policies.”

Of course, there being no evidence has not usually been a problem for media. Just run with the narrative and find some facts later.

“This is no different than the fake protests being organized by George Soros. It’s all theater being produced by the globalist hard left and certain media outlets,” Bill Wilson, a member of Americans for Limited Government’s board of directors commented.

“Having the media in collusion with the left is nothing new, as we recently learned from the election campaign via Wikileaks. They will do anything to undermine the Trump administration,” Wilson added.

In other words, this is just the latest drive-by hit squad attack by the media that hates Trump and hates the people who voted for him, and hates Bannon. If it is necessary to assassinate Stephen Bannon’s character to undermine the incoming Trump administration, then that is the price to be paid. The only thing that’s not news here is that the media has it in for Trump and his supporters.

The Ellison Challenge

By Caroline Glick

November 18, 2016

CarolineGlick.com

The Democratic Party stands at a crossroads today. And so do the Jewish Democrats.

Out of power in the White House and both houses of Congress, the Democrats must decide what sort of party they will be in the post-Obama world.

They have two basic options.

They can move to the center and try to rebuild their blue collar voter base that President-elect Donald Trump captivated with his populist message. To do so they will need to loosen the reins of the political correctness and weaken their racialism, their radical environmentalism and their support for open borders.

This is the sort of moderate posture that Bill Clinton led with. It is the sort of posture that Clinton tried but failed to convince his wife to adopt in this year’s campaign.

The second option is to go still further along the leftist trajectory that President Barack Obama set the party off on eight years ago. This is the favored option of the Bernie Sanders’ wing of the party. Sanders’ supporters refer to this option as the populist course. It is being played out today on the ground by the anti-Trump protesters who refuse to come to terms with the Trump victory and insistently defame Trump as a Nazi or Hitler and his advisors as Goebbels.

For the Democrats, such a populist course will require them to become more racialist, more authoritarian in their political correctness, angrier and more doctrinaire.

It will also require them to become an anti-Semitic party.

Anti-Semitism, like hatred of police and Christians are necessary components of Democratic populism. This is true first and foremost because they will need scapegoats to blame for all the bad things you can’t solve by demonizing and silencing your political opponents.

Jews, and particularly the Jewish state, along with evangelical Christians and cops are the only groups that you are allowed to hate, discriminate against and scapegoat in the authoritarian PC universe.

From the party’s initial post-election moves, it appears that the Democrats have decided to take the latter path.

Congressman Keith Ellison from Minneapolis is now poised to be selected as the next leader of the Democratic National Committee. This position is a powerful one. The DNC chairman, like his Republican counterpart, is the party’s chief fundraiser. When a party is out of power, the party chairman is treated like its formal leader, and most active spokesman.

Ellison is the head of the Democrats’ Progressive caucus. His candidacy is supported by incoming Senate minority leader Senator Chuck Schumer and outgoing Senate minority leader Harry Reid. Obama has indicated his support for Ellison. Senator Bernie Sanders is enthusiastically supporting him.

Ellison made history in 2006 when he was elected to serve as the first Muslim member of Congress. As the representative of an overwhelmingly Democratic district, once he won the Democratic primary in 2006, he was all but guaranteed that he could serve in Congress for as long as he wishes.

As Scott Johnson, a prominent conservative writer who runs the popular Powerlineblog website reported extensively in 2006Ellison is an anti-Semite. He also defends cop killers.

As Johnson reported, Ellison was a long standing member of the anti-Semitic Nation of Islam. During his 2006 Congressional campaign, the local media gave next to no coverage to this association. But when it did come up, Ellison soothed concerns of Minneapolis’s Jewish community by sending a letter to the local Jewish Community Relations Committee.

In the letter Ellison claimed that he had only been briefly associated with Louis Farrakhan’s outfit, that he was unfamiliar with its anti-Semitism, and that he had never personally expressed such views.

The local media and the Jewish community were happy to take him at his word.

But as Johnson documented, his was lying on all counts.

Ellison’s association with the Nation of Islam dated back at least since 1989 and stretched at least until 1998. During that period, he not only knew about the Nation of Islam’s Jew hatred, he engaged in it himself.

As Johnson noted, in 1998, Ellison appeared at a public forum as a spokesman for the Nation of Islam. He was there to defend a woman who was under fire for allegedly referring to Jews as “among the most racist white people.”

Whereas the woman herself denied she had made the statement, Ellison defended and justified her alleged statement. Referring to her slander of Jews he said, “We stand by the truth contained in [the woman’s] remarks…Also it is absolutely true that merchants in Black areas generally treat Black customers badly.”

As Johnson reported, aside from engaging in anti-Jewish propaganda and actively promoting anti-Semitic messages and leaders, decades before the Black Lives Matter was formed, Ellison was a prominent defender of murderers of policemen.

After the Sept. 11 attacks, Ellison likened the attacks to the Reichstag fire in 1933, intimating that the al Qaeda strike was an inside job. He then agreed with an audience member who said that “the Jews” gained the most from the attacks.

As a member of Congress, Ellison has been among the most hostile US lawmakers towards Israel. He has close relations with Muslim Brotherhood related groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations and Islamic Society of North America. Both groups were unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation terror funding trial, implicated in funding Hamas and al Qaida.

And now, Sens. Schumer, Sanders and Reid and President Obama along with the Democratic grassroots activists and other party leaders are supporting Ellison’s bid to serve as chairman of the DNC.

As Ellison’s statement about “merchants” makes clear, the Democrats’ Jew hatred may not be of the “Jews are the sons of apes and pigs,” variety. In all likelihood, it will be propagated through angry rhetoric about “bankers” and “financiers,” and “the rich.”

Ellison, a supporter of the anti-Semitic BDS movement, has libeled Israel by likening the Jewish state to apartheid South Africa. Under his leadership, we can expect for Democratic politicians to veer even further away from Israel and to embrace the slander that Zionism is racism.

The populist Sanders’ route seems more attractive to the Democrats than Bill Clinton’s moderate path because the notion is taking hold that Sanders would have been a stronger candidate in the general election than Clinton was.

This view is hard to accept. Most Americans reject socialism, and populist or not, it is difficult to see how Sanders would have sold his radical positions to an uninterested public.

The other problem with the “Sanders would have won,” argument is that it misses the distinction between Trump’s populism and Democratic populism.

Trump’s populism stemmed from his willingness to say things that other politicians and authority figures more generally wouldn’t dare to say. Trump’s allegation that the political system is rigged, for instance, empowered Americans who feel threatened by the authoritarianism of the politically correct Left.

Trump’s opponents insist that his populism empowered white power bigots. But that was a bug in his ointment. It wasn’t the ointment itself. Trump’s willingness to seemingly say anything, and certainly to say things that were beyond the narrow confines of the politically correct discourse, empowered tens of millions of voters. It also empowered white bigots at the fringes of the Right.

Whereas empowering white bigots was a side effect of Trump’s populism, empowering bigots is a central feature of leftist populism. And this is where it gets dicey for Jews.

As Obama – and Ellison – have shown, when Democrats channel populism, they use it to demonize their opponents as evil. They are “fat cats on Wall Street.” They are “racists,” and other deplorables.

There are scattered voices on the Left that are calling for their fellow leftists to revisit their authoritarian practice of labelling everyone who doesn’t walk lockstep behind them as racists and otherwise unacceptable. But for the most part, the populists are winning the argument by essentially demanding more ideological radicalism and more rigidity.

This policy is completely irrational from a political perspective. It’s hard to see the constituencies that will be swayed to support an angry, hateful party.

But this brings us to the Jews, who voted 3:1 for the Democrats, and to the American Jewish leadership whose support for Clinton was near unanimous.

When anti-Semitic, populist voices like Ellison’s began taking over Britain’s Labour Party, British Jews began heading for the exits. When push came to shove they preferred their individual rights and their communal rights as Jews above their partisan loyalties.

So far, this doesn’t appear to be the case among Jewish Democrats.

Consider the Anti-Defamation League’s unhinged onslaught against Trump’s chief strategist, former Breitbart CEO Steve Bannon.

While ignoring Ellison’s record of anti-Semitism and support for Israel’s enemies, as well as his ties to unindicted co-conspirators in funding Hamas, the ADL launched a scathing assault on Bannon accusing him of being an anti-Semite.

The ADL’s assault on Bannon follows its absurd claim in the final days of the campaign that Trump’s ad criticizing George Soros was anti-Semitic. It also follows the group’s bizarre condemnation of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s recent video clip in which he stated the plain fact that the Palestinian demand that Jews be ethnically cleansed from the territory they wish to take control over is an anti-Semitic demand.

As many prominent US Jews on both sides of the partisan divide have made clear, the accusation that Bannon, whose Breitbart website is one of the most pro-Israel websites in the US, is anti-Semitic is appalling on its face. The allegation is simply unsubstantiated.

So why do it? Why allege that a friend of the Jews is a Jew hater while ignoring the actual anti-Semitism of another man?

The answer is depressingly easy to discern.

The ADL appears to be trying to give cover to the rising forces of anti-Semitism in the Democratic Party. By falsely accusing Bannon and through him Trump of anti-Semitism, the ADL defuses the real problem of Democratic anti-Semitism. And if the ADL doesn’t think there is a problem with Ellison taking over the DNC, but alleges that Republicans hate them, then rank in file Jews will stay put.

The ADL of course isn’t alone in sending this message.

Following the election, Conservative and Reform congregations in major cities throughout the US organized communal “shivas,” to mourn Clinton’s defeat as if it was a death in the family. Such actions, along with characterizations of Trump and his advisors as Nazis or Hitler or white supremacists work to bind Jews to a party that is inhospitable to their communal interests while blinding them to the fact that Republicans do not hate Jews or the Jewish state.

For decades, American Jews have been at the forefront of every major social movement on in the US. But the Democratic Party’s move towards anti-Semitism, a move made apparent through Ellison’s rise, is one movement the Jews mustn’t lead.

Can You Spot the Hypocrisy?

The Realistic Observer

Since Sunday evening, ABC, CBS and NBC (along with a host of other establishment media outlets) have been engaged in a feeding frenzy over Donald Trump’s appointment of Steve Bannon, with reporters relentlessly employing phrases such as “white nationalist,” “white supremacist,” “extremist,” “racist” and “anti-Semitic” to solidify the image of Bannon as a dangerous pick for a top White House position.

But since Friday, those same networks have been blind to the controversies surrounding the top candidate for Democratic National Committee Chairman, Rep. Keith Ellison. Ellison has been accused of ties to the radical Nation of Islam, the Muslim Brotherhood, and once suggested the 9/11 terrorist attacks were akin to the infamous Reichstag fire used to propel Hitler’s Nazi party into absolute power in 1933 Germany.

From Sunday night through Wednesday morning, MRC analysts found the Big Three had already churned out 41 minutes, 46 seconds of coverage devoted to Bannon’s appointment. An analysis finds that nearly three-fourths (74%) of all references to Bannon were negative; the only positive comments viewers heard came from interviews or soundbites with other Trump campaign officials or Republican officeholders……

The coverage has been so ridiculously excessive, The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro — who dislikes Bannon — said it was evidence the media had “gone nuts” over the appointment:

They claim that he’s personally anti-Semitic and racist and a white nationalist and anti-Israel, without evidence. This is ridiculous. And all it does is provoke defense from the right. For God’s sake, I’m now defending Steve Bannon! The media can’t stop their overreach, because everybody on the right is Hitler to the media, which means that Bannon must be Super-Duper-Hitler.

Contrast that with news coverage of a Democrat accused of radicalism. Since he was first mentioned as a potential candidate on Friday, Rep. Ellison’s bid to take over the DNC has received only two minutes, nine seconds of network airtime, and none of it has focused on his controversial comments or associations.

The only spin network viewers heard was positive. On NBC’s Today show on Sunday, MSNBC’s Joy Reid was brought on to sing his praises: “Keith Ellison as a young legislator, as a Muslim, as an African-American, he really feels like sort of an ideal candidate.”

Ellison has been endorsed by incoming Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer, a move which has led to protests against the New York Senator. While CBS has not mentioned those protests, their New York affiliate has done the reporting:

On a trip to Israel last summer, Ellison posted a photo of a sign in Hebron declaring Israel to be an apartheid state. He also proudly defended Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan against accusations of being anti-Semitic.

“(H)is vile beliefs… ought to disqualify him outright,” said Joel Mowbray, a consultant to Jewish groups. “If Chuck Schumer actually did his due diligence and is supporting Ellison anyway, that’s shameful.”…

Longtime terrorism expert Steve Emerson in 2010 documented that Ellison had financial “donors with a history of Muslim Brotherhood connections.” And in March 2010, according to Emerson, “Ellison attended a private fundraiser at the northern Virginia home of a man who led a group tied to the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Add it all up, and Ellison sounds at least as controversial as Bannon. So, if charges of extremism against a potential Republican White House aide are worth massive network coverage, where is the similar coverage of the radical ties of a Congressman who hopes to lead the Democratic Party?

Dr. Bill Warner gives an insight into Islamism

A jihadi said that beheading Kafirs, non-Muslims, is like killing chickens so he has no remorse. And why would he feel nothing? Could it be that he believes that Kafirs are worse than animals? Allah says:

Koran 25:44 Do you think that most of them hear, or understand? They are just like animals; no, they are far worse.

The jihadi has the moral right to behead the Kafir. He is following Allah’s commands:

Koran 8:12 Then your Lord spoke to His angels and said, “I will be with you. Give strength to the believers. I will send terror into the Kafirs’ hearts, cut off their heads and even the tips of their fingers!”

In the early Koran of Mecca, Allah condemns Kafirs to hell 146 times. Of these 146 condemnations, only 9 involve moral wrongs such as greed and lying. The other 137 times are because the Kafir did not think that Mohammed was the prophet of Allah. Kafirs reject Mohammed as a prophet and deny the Koran. Killing them by beheading is jihad. Raping them is jihad. The jihad advances Islam.

There are other chickens (cowards), as well. Chicken religious leaders do not stand up for persecuted Christians. There is a chicken media that does not tell the truth about Islam or criticize it. And there are chicken professors who do not teach the truth of the suffering in history caused by jihad over the last 1400 years.

We must stop being chicken cowards. We may have fear, but we must speak out. Only then can we prevent our civilization from being annihilated.

When Leftists Call Fiorina a Liar

When Leftists Call Fiorina a Liar

YOU KNOW there is a warping of a real truth

By John R. Houk

© September 18, 2015

I was watching Leftie Fox News contributor Alan Colmes call Fiorina a liar about her passionate disgust with of a baby abortedI mean – murdered fully intact with the heart beating and people talking about harvesting baby’s brain. It was an abhorrent description of infanticide. So I decided to look for that video.

An unsurprising Google search turned up numerous Left Wing websites calling a Fiorina a liar just like Colmes. The fact is, after you hear a Leftist say something is a lie, it is more than likely the truth.

The truth is the video in question does not actually show an intact baby allegedly aborted but heart beating on a table. The video does show former StemExpress employee Holly O’Donnell describing the exact event that Carly Fiorina accused Planned Parenthood of at the CNN GOP Debate on Wednesday. In fact the O’Donnell description flashes to a fully baby that has the appearance of being taken from a women prematurely (as in the skin was all red) with one of the tiny precious legs have a spasm. Included with the video below is the entire Youtube description (This video is a repeat performance of an earlier cross post – “The Secret History of Planned Parenthood”):

Whistleblower Who Harvested Aborted Baby Parts Inside Planned Parenthood Clinics for StemExpress Describes “Most Difficult Experience I Had There” In Latest Documentary Episode

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19–The third episode in a new documentary web series and 7th video on Planned Parenthood’s supply of aborted fetal tissue tells a former procurement technician’s harrowing story of harvesting an intact brain from a late-term male fetus whose heart was still beating after the abortion.

The “Human Capital” documentary web series, produced by The Center for Medical Progress, integrates expert interviews, eyewitness accounts, and real-life undercover interactions to explore different themes within Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted fetal tissue. Episode 3, “Planned Parenthood’s Custom Abortions for Superior Product,” launches today at: http://www.centerformedicalprogress.org/2015/08/human-capital-episode-3-planned-parenthoods-custom-abortions-for-superior-product/

The series focuses on the personal narrative of Holly O’Donnell, a former Blood and Tissue Procurement Technician for StemExpress, a biotech start-up that until last week was partnered with two large northern California Planned Parenthood affiliates to purchase their aborted fetus parts and resell them for scientific experimentation.

O’Donnell describes the harvesting, or “procurement,” of organs from a nearly intact late-term fetus aborted at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s Alameda clinic in San Jose, CA. “‘I want to see something kind of cool,’” O’Donnell says her supervisor asked her. “And she just taps the heart, and it starts beating. And I’m sitting here and I’m looking at this fetus, and its heart is beating, and I don’t know what to think.”

The San Jose Planned Parenthood does abortions up to 20 weeks of pregnancy. Referring to the beating heart of the aborted fetus, O’Donnell remarks, “I don’t know if that constitutes it’s technically dead, or it’s alive.”

State and federal law require that the same treatment be given to an infant born-alive after an abortion as to a normally delivered baby (1 U.S.C. 8, CA Health and Safety Code 123435). California law also prohibits any kind of experimentation on a fetus with a discernible heartbeat (CA Health and Safety Code 123440). StemExpress has been cited in published scientific literature as a source of fetal hearts used for Langendorff perfusion, which keeps a heart beating after it is excised from the body: http://www.hindawi.com/journals/omcl/2015/730683/

O’Donnell also tells how her StemExpress supervisor instructed her to cut through the face of the fetus in order to get the brain. ““She gave me the scissors and told me that I had to cut down the middle of the face. I can’t even describe what that feels like,” she says.

The video also features recordings of Dr. Ben Van Handel, the Executive Director of Novogenix Laboratories, LLC, and also of Perrin Larton, Procurement Manager of Advanced Bioscience Resources, Inc. (ABR). Novogenix is the company that has harvested fetal organs from abortions done by Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, in Los Angeles, while ABR is the oldest fetal tissue procurement company and works with Planned Parenthood in San Diego and other clinics around the country. Van Handel admits, “There are times when after the procedure is done that the heart actually is still beating,” and Larton describes abortions she has seen where “the fetus was already in the vaginal canal whenever we put her in the stirrups, it just fell out.”

CMP’s Project Lead David Daleiden notes, “Today’s video contains heartrending admissions about the absolute barbarism of Planned Parenthood’s abortion practice and baby parts sales in which fetuses are sometimes delivered intact and alive. Planned Parenthood is a criminal organization from the top down and should be immediately stripped of taxpayer funding and prosecuted for their atrocities against humanity.”

SO AGAIN, is Carly Fiorina a liar?

NO!

The Planned Parenthood history of culling the herd for a better eugenic population is quite old going all the way back to the murder clinic’s founder Margaret Sanger (The Religion of Eugenics and the State – 2011 and Nazism, Eugenics and Abortion – 2009). America’s Left, viz. the Democrat Party (wittingly or unwittingly) is a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood NOT because women’s health issues, but rather to cull the herd.

So when Leftists and Dems call Carly Fiorina a liar YOU KNOW it is disinformation to fool the masses of Leftist good intentions that are really a continuation of the transformation process Obama began inflicting America with in 2008.

Liberals Accuse Carly Fiorina of ‘Lying’ About Graphic Planned Parenthood Video Description During GOP Debate — but What’s the Full Story?

By Billy Hallowell

Sep. 17, 2015 1:15pm

The Blaze

Some on the left are accusing Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina of lying after she said during Wednesday night’s debate that undercover Planned Parenthood footage shows a “fully formed fetus” alive on a table as “someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.”

Slate flatly accused Fiorina of “lying” after she directly challenged Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama to watch the videos, while a writer at Refinery29 dismissed Fiorina’s “graphic” and “upsetting” claims as “totally made-up.”

The debate is noteworthy given the general consensus that Fiorina’s excoriating comments were among her strongest moments during the debate.

“Anyone who has watched this video tape — I dare Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama to watch these tapes. Watch a fully formed fetus on the able, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain,” Fiorina said. “This is about the character of our nation. And if we will not stand up and force President Obama to veto this bill, then shame on us.”

VIDEO: Carly Fiorina Response to Planned Parenthood on CNN Debate | The Blaze

Slate writer Amanda Marcotte correctly noted that the publicly released undercover footage released by the anti-abortion Center for Medical Ethics does not show such a scene, writing that there are no images of babies “kicking or hearts beating.” Vox reporter Sarah Kliff also declared that Fiorina was “wrong,” noting that she watched all 12 hours of released footage and never saw such a thing.

However, Fiorina was not concocting the story out of thin air; most of the details that she described were recounted in an accompanying mini-documentary series also produced by the Center for Medical Progress.

Holly O’Donnell, a former blood and tissue procurement technician, described in the Center for Medical Progress’ “Human Capital” documentary series how she once saw the heart of a baby still beating after an abortion.

“[The] episode tells a former procurement technician’s harrowing story of harvesting an intact brain from a late-term male fetus whose heart was still beating after the abortion,” a press release accompanying the video’s release last month stated.

The majority of the documentary — the seventh video released overall by the Center for Medical Progress — focused on O’Donnell recounting how she was once asked to help procure brain tissue from a fetus, an experience she said shook her to her core.

“Since the fetus was so intact [my coworker] said, ‘This is a really good fetus, and it looks like we can procure a lot from it. We’re going to procure brain,’” O’Donnell says in the video. “She takes the scissors and she makes a small incision … and goes, I would say to maybe a little bit through the mouth, and she was like, ‘OK, can you go the rest of the way?’”

Watch the video below (caution — graphic): [Blog Editor: I am not showing video as The Blaze story does because it can be viewed above.]

No images from the incident O’Donnell described were shown; however, there are other photos and clips interspersed throughout the video that feature late-term and stillborn fetuses.

One of those photos caused some critics to object last month that the Center for Medical Progress was misleading viewers: it showed an image of a stillborn baby as O’Donnell described the brain procurement procedure. Kliff described it as “stock footage.”

The image of the stillborn baby, Walter Fretz, who was born at 19 weeks, was originally included without any notation about where the photo came from; his mother has since said that she did not agree with the use of her son’s image by the Center for Medical Progress, according to the Christian Post.

At another point in the documentary, footage of a different fetus was interspersed, seemingly for effect, as O’Donnell described in a voice-over the features of the fetus from which she procured brain tissue. As she spoke of the baby’s facial features, video rolled of a late-term fetus moving its limbs, with a credit that read, “Courtesy of Grantham Collection & Center for Bio-Ethical Reform.”

Mollie Hemingway speculated in the Federalist that Fiorina was speaking broadly about the 10 videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, noting that the seventh video featuring O’Donnell “does, in fact, show a fully formed fetus, heart beating and legs licking.”

Other videos in the series did feature the remains of deceased fetuses inside pathology labs as well.

VIDEO: Carly talks to Good Morning America about the debate and Planned Parenthood

Fiorina appeared on “Good Morning America” on Thursday morning to discuss her debate performance, doubling down on her claims about Planned Parenthood, while pushing back against some of her critics.

“I didn’t misspeak … . This kind of butchery erodes the character of our nation,” Fiorina said. ”Rest assured, I have seen the images I talked about last night. Rest assured that human lives are being aborted fully formed in order to harvest body parts.”

David Daleiden, the project lead for the Center for Medical Progress, told TheBlaze in a statement that “the footage in question was from Grantham Collection & Center for Bio-Ethical Reform used to illustrate the first person eye witness testimony of Holly O’Donnell of the barbaric acts committed inside Planned Parenthood abortion facilities.”

“Planned Parenthood and their supporters are afraid to watch and talk about this footage because it shows their illicit baby parts trade for what it really is: the industrial-scale commodification and exploitation of tiny human beings,” Daleiden said.

House Passes Bill to Hold Planned Parenthood Criminally Liable for Harvesting Aborted Babies Still Alive

By STEVEN ERTELT

September 18, 2015 12:56PM

LifeNews.com

The House of Representatives today approved a pro-life bill that would hold the Planned Parenthood abortion business criminally liable for harvesting body parts from aborted babies who are technically still alive.

The center for Medical Progress has released 10 videos catching and exposing Planned Parenthood officials selling aborted babies and their body parts. One of the most shocking videos caught the nation’s biggest abortion business harvesting the brain of an aborted baby who was still alive.

The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, sponsored by pro-life Congressman Trent Franks would make failure to provide standard medical care to children born alive during an abortion a federal crime. It would also apply stronger penalties in cases where an overt act is taken to kill the abortion survivor.

Under the pro-life bill there is also a civil right of action for mothers of children who survive an abortion to hold the abortion provider accountable.

Congressman Chris Smith implored the House to pass the bill.

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately

“Undercover videos by the Center for Medical Progress have again brought into sharp focus that some babies actually survive abortion,” the New jersey congressman said. ”

Dr. Savita Ginde, Medical Director of Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains says “sometimes we get—if someone delivers before we get to see them for a procedure—they are intact…” that is, Madame Speaker, born alive. Breathing, crying, gasping for air. One fetal tissue broker describes on the video watching a “fetus …just fall out.” And left to die.”

“We have a duty to protect these vulnerable children from violence, exploitation and death. Humanitarian due diligence requires that born alive babies be taken to a hospital to obtain care and enhance prospects of survival,” Smith added. “Abortion clinics have no incentive whatsoever to save the child. Abortion clinics do not have neonatal intensive care units—they are in the business of killing babies, not saving them.”

“The Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 3504), authored by pro-life champion Trent Franks simply says any child who survives an abortion must be given the same care as any other premature baby born at the same gestational age. This legislation builds on the landmark Born Alive Infant Protection Act of 2002 authored by Steve Chabot by adding important enforcement provisions,” he concluded.

The House voted 248 to 177 for the bill with 239 Republicans voting for the bill and 5 Democrats joining them. No Republicans voted against the pro-life bill while 177 Democrats voted against it. One member voted present.

A rpo-life sneator (sic) says he will introduce the Senate version of the bill on Monday. Senator Ben Sasse told LifeNews.com that he will introduce companion legislation in the Senate when Congress resumes its work on Monday.

He said: “If this isn’t the most non-controversial sentence in American politics, it’s time to check our national conscience: newborn babies must receive care and attention. Societies are judged by how we care for the vulnerable and surely anyone with a heart— regardless of where they stand on the abortion debate— should be able to agree that our laws should protect newborns. I’m grateful that a bipartisan majority of the House stood up for babies and I look forward to introducing companion legislation in the Senate next week.”

Despite passage of the bill, the Obama administration says President Barack Obama would veto the measure. The position statement explaining the opposition to the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act says the pro-life bill “would impose new legal requirements related to the provision of abortion services in certain circumstances, which would likely have a chilling effect, reducing access to care.”

As pro-life Congressman Chris Smith explains, this has Obama on record once again opposing care for babies born alive who survive abortions. Obama clearly either believes that killing babies after they are born is a reasonable part of an abortion or he fears that abortion companies like Planned Parenthood would stop doing abortions before they would be willing to comply with a requirement to save the babies that survive them.

“Late yesterday the President demonstrated that his subservience to Planned Parenthood is absolute and without question,” said Smith. “Blindly following the orders of Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the country, the President issued an extreme unequivocal statement that he would veto the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, a bill that simply says a child that survives an abortion must be given the same care as any other premature baby born at the same gestational age and forbidding acts of lethal violence against such babies.”

Smith told LifeNews.com: “We are talking about babies that have been BORN ALIVE and are separate from their mothers,” Smith said. “Yet President Obama’s extreme obsession with promoting abortion doesn’t stop with killing unborn children. Even abortion survivors are not safe from this President and Planned Parenthood. Can we not treat these tiny infants as a person—as patients? According to the Abortion President and the largest abortion provider in the nation, the answer is a resounding NO.

Follow LifeNews.com on Instragam for pro-life pictures and the latest pro-life news.

Smith continued: “These extreme statements demonstrate just who we are dealing with in the White House, but the question remains. Will Members of the House and Senate follow the lead of the abortion giant, Planned Parenthood? Or will they at least draw a line at infanticide and vote for a law protect abortion survivors and ensure people like Kermit Gosnell who kill babies who survive abortions are prosecuted and brought to justice?”

In the video CMP released exposing how Planned Parenthood harvests organs from babies who are still alive, the video features Holly O’Donnell, a licensed phlebotomist who unsuspectingly took a job as a “procurement technician” at the fetal tissue company and biotech start-up StemExpress in late 2012. That’s the company that acts as a middleman and purchases the body parts of aborted babies from Planned Parenthood to sell to research universities and other places. StemExpress was partnered with Planned Parenthood up until last week, when it quietly announced it ended its relationship with the abortion corporation.

The video includes O’Donnell’s eyewitness narrative of the daily practice of fetal body parts harvesting in Planned Parenthood abortion clinics. She tells the harrowing story of harvesting an intact brain from a late-term male unborn baby whose heart was still beating after the abortion.

O’Donnell describes the harvesting, or “procurement,” of organs from a nearly intact late-term baby aborted at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s Alameda clinic in San Jose, California.

The procurement of body parts from aborted babies who are still alive is a violation of the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, a pro-life bill President George W. Bush signed into law to protect unborn babies who survive abortions. Now, Congress wants to add teeth to that law to make it so Planned Parenthood or other abortion companies would be held criminally liable for breaking the law.

The National Right to Life Committee provided LifeNews a detailed analysis of the groundbreaking new pro-life legislation, H.R. 3504. The information comes in the form of a letter from top NRLC officials to members of Congress urging a vote for the bill.

In 2002, Congress approved, without a dissenting vote, the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act (BAIPA), subsequently signed into law by President George W. Bush and codified as 1 U.S.C. §8. This important law states that “every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development” is a “person” for all federal law purposes. The bill defines “born alive” in terms of explicit criteria – “complete expulsion from his or her mother . . . at any stage of development, who after such expulsion or extraction breathes or has a beating heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, regardless of whether the umbilical cord has been cut, and regardless of whether the expulsion or extraction occurs as a result of natural or induced labor, cesarean section, or induced abortion.”

The BAIPA was a response to troubling indications, well summarized in the House Judiciary Committee’s excellent 2001 report on the legislation, that some abortion providers and pro-abortion activists did not regard infants born alive during abortion procedures as legal persons – especially if the infants were deemed to be “pre-viable” (i.e., have limited life expectancy due to prematurity). Such a mindset puts a substantial number of live-born infant persons in jeopardy of gross neglect or overt violence. Live birth, as defined in 1 U.S.C. §8, may occur a month before “viability.” BAIPA made it crystal clear that life expectancy is entirely irrelevant for purposes of legal personhood.

However, in the years since 1 U.S.C. §8 was enacted, evidences have multiplied that some abortion providers do not regard babies born alive during abortions as persons, and do not provide them with the types of care that would be provided to premature infants who are born spontaneously. In some cases, such born-alive infants are even subjected to overt acts of deadly violence. In 2013, Dr. Kermit Gosnell of Philadelphia was convicted under state law of multiple homicides of such born-alive infants, but such a prosecution and conviction is uncommon. In some jurisdictions, local authorities seem reluctant to investigate reports of infants born alive during abortions, or to bring appropriate indictments even in cases in which the publicly reported evidence of gross neglect or overt lethal acts seems strong.

Public concern has been increased by a recent series of hidden-camera videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, in which various persons described events and practices within certain Planned Parenthood abortion clinics that, at the very least, raise questions about whether it is generally recognized among abortion-clinic personnel that a born-alive baby is a legal “person,” whether before or after “viability.” Other passages raise similar questions regarding some persons who operate firms that obtain and sell baby body parts, obtained from abortion clinics.

National Right to Life believes that it is time for Congress to act decisively to put the entire abortion industry on notice that when they treat a born-alive human person as medical waste, as a source for organ harvesting, or as a creature who may be subjected to lethal violence with impunity, they will do so at grave legal peril. H.R. 3504 would enact an explicit requirement that a baby born alive during an abortion must be afforded “the same degree” of care that would apply “to any other child born alive at the same gestational age,” including transportation to a hospital. This language does not dictate bona fide medical judgments nor require futile measures, but rather, requires that babies born alive during abortions are treated in the same manner as those who are spontaneously born prematurely. This language is based on very similar provisions contained within H.R. 36, passed by the House of Representatives on May 13, 2015.

In addition, the bill applies the existing penalties of 18 U.S.C. Sec. 1111 (the federal murder statute) to anyone who performs “an overt act that kills a child born alive.” This would apply, for example, to an abortion clinic staff person who dissects a breathing born-alive infant in order to harvest an intact liver, or to an abortionist who ends a born-alive baby’s whimpers with a sharp blow to the skull, or by snipping the spine.

In addition, the bill provides a civil cause of action to women who are harmed by violations of the act. The civil action provisions are similar to language in H.R. 36.

When Jews Stand Silent

Concentration Camp Murdered Jews

Result of Jew-Hatred – My GOD Don’t Forget!

After Hitler’s Holocaust was discovered by the winning Allied

armies, the West experienced a collective guilt on how badly Jews were treated in a horrific Jew-hatred manner. In Ari Bussel’s essay he expresses the very legitimate concern that the pre-Holocaust days are here again – even in America.

When Jews Stand Silent

By Ari Bussel

Allow me to start with a bit of family history.

During WWII, among the Allied forces, my grandfather was in General Anders’ (Polish) army fighting the Nazis.  At the end of the War he was in Italy.  After the war, my grandfather joined his brother in NY and remarried (my grandmother had been murdered by the Nazis).

To his last day, my grandfather lived on the Upper West Side, whereas his brother lived on the Upper East Side.  NYC was his favorite city, a magical place with much to do.  He regularly attended operas and concerts at the Lincoln Center.  I remember when my father and I were packing his things, after my grandfather passed away, and found stacks of programs of performances he had attended.  We may still have some of them.

My grandfather is buried in NY, where he is likely turning in his grave, at how—after seventy-five years—we have come full circle backward.  Not just in Europe, but in the USA as well.

Today, everything is permissible, even in America.  Acceptable now, first and foremost, is Jew-hatred.

Once we knew how to differentiate between right and wrong, good and evil.  Today, the lines are blurred, terrorists become “freedom fighters,” and the blame always lies with someone else, most readily and easily with Israel and the Jews.

Metropolitan Opera of the pro-terrorist, anti-Semitic, anti-Israel opera “Death of Klinghoffer.”

Tonight at the Met is the opening night of Death of Klinghoffer.  So what is all the fuss about?  “Munich” humanized the terrorists who targeted and murdered Israeli athletes because they were Jewish.  Its director was none other than Schindler’s List director, Steven Spielberg, himself a Jew.

Many movies in recent years that vilify Israel and glorify her enemies are made in Israel and are supported by funding from the Israeli government.

So why is everyone up in arms against yet another such occasion, one that happens to be at my grandfather’s favorite city and performing arts center?

Those who do not understand the premise we must fight all these instances may stop here.  Others will dwell into the following questions:

* Who stands up and takes action?

* What type of action is sufficient to effect change?

* Can we even fight modern-day anti-Semitism?

I will attempt to answer these three questions.

Good people are expected to fight back but seldom do.  A major shock to the system is necessary before they spring to action and for its effects to remain etched in memory.  The Holocaust was a drastic shock and its effects lasted some seven decades but now have almost faded away.

Short of a major system-wide tsunami, as we learned time and again, “money talks.”  To effect change, one must get to the major source of funding.  Then those at the helm pay attention.  For change to be meaningful and lasting, rather than passing, pressure must be sustained.

Thus the call for major funders of the NY Met to withhold their donations must be a consideration.

Experience, though, teaches us that such efforts rarely work.  Ha’Aretz, Israeli leading intellectual paper, is still up and running, none of its advertisers has backed off, despite its working tirelessly to bring about the fall of the Jewish state.

Not only in Israel.  The NY Times, LA Times and other major papers still exist and their main advertisers (many Jewish) have not backed off, despite a systematic anti-Israeli approach.

And this experience extends well beyond the printed media.

To effect change, there has to either be a major groundswell or the major benefactors behind an operation must take a stand (i.e. stop the flow of funds) and remain firm on their convictions. Either one will create the necessary shock effect.  Yet, this is as rare as a major earthquake here in California.

There are instances when we must stand up and take action, not just hope that a storm will pass and everything be forgotten.  These shocks have positive effects, for they force us to change the status quo.  And what is happening today is not good, by any stretch of one’s imagination.

So allow me to highlight a friend, who is now on a plane to NYC, to participate tonight in the demonstration in front of the Lincoln Center.  She will be sitting in a wheelchair this evening at the Klinghoffer Demonstration against the Met.  It is inspiring, but not enough.

Several years ago, a professor from Ben Gurion University, the head of the Poli-Sci department, wrote an op-ed that was published by the Los Angeles Times.  It was not personal musings, rather the professional presentation of a person very established in this field.  He called to “Boycott Israel.”

Jews were outraged.  The University President flew in to Los Angeles to meet with the major donors who were very upset.  She refused to meet with anyone else; they were of no concern or value to her.  The major donors were appeased, and nothing much has changed since.  Post-Zionism is alive and well at BGU.

The Jews have persuaded themselves that everything is OK, someone else is to blame (clearly noise created by some troublemakers) and there is nothing the university president can actually do.  Life continues.

The same happened when J Street, the self-proclaimed “pro-Israel, pro-peace” (anti-Israel, undermine-AIPAC) organization came into being.  The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles was gravitating toward supporting it, until Newt Becker went from one friend to another (all major donors) and made it an issue.

Then, and only then, the Federation paid attention.

Promises were made.  The Federation resorted to legalities and ultimately confused the issue.  “It depends what ‘supporting’ really means,” they said, and the shenanigans continued.  United we stand, divided we fall, and J Street continues to bring about the fall of the walls of Jerusalem.  Alas, it happened before, we will survive it again.

Newt’s actions were a necessary, but not a sufficient condition.

In Orange County, activist Dee Sterling has been fighting the Olive Tree Initiative (and the world-wide travel intifada) for years. Philanthropist Dr. Shelley Ventura Cohen arranged several meetings at the Federation here in LA, alongside a major contributor.  The president of the Federation had to make time for these meetings, but not much has resulted.  Shelley passed away, the philanthropist spends her time abroad and the Olive Tree Initiative goes from strength to strength, having expanded now to numerous other universities.

Major Met Donors Deafening Silence Is An Operatic Kristallnacht- If Bloomberg, Annenberg, Neubauer, Toll Bros. Spoke Out, Anti-Semitic “Klinghoffer” May Have Been Cancelled

Mort Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, in a press release this morning, calls the Deafening Silence of major Met donors “an Operatic Kristallnacht.”  He names names – Bloomberg, Annenberg, Neubauer, Toll Bros – and points out that had they spoken out, the anti-Semitic Klinghoffer may have been cancelled.

He recognizes a necessary, but not necessarily sufficient condition.

But I am a simple, practical person, and I know that ZOA’s calls will not bear fruit.  Not yet at least.  Tomorrow is another day, and life continues.  Today’s “noise” becomes tomorrow’s history, thus must be relegated to oblivion.  That is exactly what we learned with the President, the Democrats and Benghazi.  The 2012 “Spontaneous” attacks did happen, whether because of a video or not.  “Who really cares?  Get on with your lives, Republicans, you are just starting trouble” has been the prevailing attitude.

ZOA’s call is a call to action.  It follows James 2:14-26.  It expects the obvious, which is simply too much.

The Annenbergs were Jewish, but their main focus was the arts.  Alas, Jews in the USA were not very concerned about their brethren in Europe.  Life here was somewhat isolated.  Life was good.

That was then.  It evolved into an anti-Israel sentiment coming first and foremost from American Jewry today.  It is well concealed under layers of “just criticism of Israel,” “disagreeing with policies,” “love and strength to tell the truth,” “the overarching community tent,” and on and on as a never-ending list of excuses that permits Israel hatred to blossom.

A few years ago, Wallis Annenberg opened her “Space for Photography” in Century City with a National Geographic exhibit about water.

Covered with the most beautiful dress of “National Geographic” and a brand new “museum,” hatred became the new truth.  Israel became the guilty party.  20% of the exhibit was focused on Israel.  But rather than highlighting all the good Israel has bestowed on the region and the world in terms of water (including conservation, reclamation, desalination, development of drought resistant crops, drip irrigation, regional cooperation and assistance), Israel was highlighted and portrayed as the wasteful thief and the source of all evil.

Reality was obfuscated in favor of baseless attacks and a most amazing portrait of lies, most befitting the new Annenberg Space.

Apparently, this sells.  More accurately, it is acceptable.  It spreads like bacteria on a Petri dish.

Where were the Israelis and the Jews?  Where were the State of Israel and her local representatives?  How about other sane and rational people?

Were there any demonstrations?  Was the exhibit scrapped or corrected?  Annenberg definitely has the clout to achieve it, had she only wanted.

Some people remember work done “behind the scenes.”  Alas, the exhibit continued as planned, and the many thousands of visitors were exposed to one of the worst viruses ever to dwell on earth – the purest form of anti-Semitism, blood libels distilled to such high proof, their potent strength alone is dangerous.

Wallis Annenberg was being courted at that time for money for the new Beverly Hills Cultural Center.  Money, it seems, is the solution for all the world’s ills.  One would ignore evil for a payment of $25 million.  Oh, how satisfying.

Israelis in Israel were busy too, and the National Geographic special issue was allowed to stand, thus remaining a testament to a new reality.  Students in the near future will study water shortage and its aftermaths, and they can always refer back to an amazing pictorial presentation, accompanied by some of the most horrific lies; “it is all Israel’s fault.”

Likewise, the President of Iran’s Conference on the Holocaust-that-never-was also remains a factual resource for future generations, of history that was re-written while the world, Jews and Gentiles alike, stood silent.

Mort, salvation will not come from Wallis Annenberg.

From her fellow mega-donors?

My experience has taught me that until something affects them directly, we can talk and shout until we fall exhausted out of breath, and nothing will happen.

A case in point:  A member of the Board of Regents for the University of California system was kind enough to hear my ranting about what was happening at the UC Irvine campus with dangerous activities of the Muslim Student Union, the threat to Jewish students and the implications to all of us.

She was kind not to me, but to a close friend of hers, whose guest I was year after year after his wife died.

Except, nothing was internalized.  I talked and was gently dismissed as the “Meshugane” (the crazy one, not really in possession of his faculties).

This continued until Israeli Ambassador to the US, Prof. Oren, came to give a talk at UCI.  Until the pressure on Jewish students and others intensified so much that people started taking notice. Everything I had described time and again happened, and everyone was shocked at the “discovery.”

It happened right under their watch.  They enabled it.

We can continue with other examples.  I seem to carry a bag full of them.  But allow me to return to my own family history.

I am the son and grandson of Holocaust survivors.  Not much was left of our family, and all of us here and now have an obligation:  Not to Forget.

When we remember, we know that our true mission is to protect Israel, thus protecting the Jewish people.

Remembering, the essence of “Never Again,” does not translate to the fanfare usually connected with “remembering” the Holocaust.  Rather, it is off the well-traveled road that we venture.

In Israel, one started “remembering” the survivors when the deplorable living conditions of many were highlighted for all to see.  It shamed Israel into action.

While survivors are struggling in their last years, there is a robust and thriving “Claims Conference.”  Many years ago, they told my mother they did not reach her mother’s year of birth.  They did not reach it until my grandmother passed away.  But throughout the years, they enjoy their salaries, benefits and other perks, like clockwork.  It became their “entitlement,” not the survivors’.

For those who wonder, not much has changed with the Claims Conference.

In Los Angeles, I regularly pass the statue of Raoul Wallenberg and stop to salute.  The plaque reads “he restored our faith in humanity,” signed “the survivors.”  (For those who may want to read more, here is the link to “The Angel of Faith” I wrote in 2010: http://newsblaze.com/story/20100404083512buss.nb/topstory.html)

Not long ago, LA Councilmember Paul Koretz held a major event at the intersection where the statue stands.  There were numerous Holocaust survivors in attendance, yet not a single child from all the religious day schools or the high school (Fairfax High) just a few blocks walking distance from there.

No one bothered to clean the square where the statue stands, daily the sleeping place for homeless people.

The act of “remembering” has to translate to action, and that action must be meaningful.  I found the ceremony lacking, since it did not translate into meaningful action.  No one thought of bringing children, and I stood at shock and wept.

Somewhat like the neighborhood itself, once the heart of Jewish LA, turned into a heap of eateries and trendy t-shirt, shoes or skateboard stores, the generation of survivors is slowly disappearing into the memory bins of history.  A sad story, for who may remember the past? Should we even bother with it? Will it ultimately be rewritten out of existence completely?

My grandfather, Newt, Shelley, Atara, Roz’s mother and so many others are up there, in council, looking down, advocating on behalf of the Jewish people. Hoping now is the time for all sane, rational beings to ponder.

They understand well when good people stand silent, evil is triumphant, and tonight will be no different.
