Where I Stand & Social Media

Have you ever been around people who you know you agree with much of what they believe? AND THEN you discover there are one or more issues you disagree with those same people. Indeed, there might be one thing you have an extreme disagreement with.

Disagreement is something I have learned to live with in various Social Media locations in which I have joined either due to fascination or perceived agreement.

Just so you can peg me, allow me to sum up where I stand. I am a Christian Conservative. There are many elements of Neoconservatism that I concur (America first National Interests, Strong Military, not backing down to threats to the American way of life (which does mean meddling in the domestic issues of foreign nations if those nations are determined to mess with America) and Biblical Moral concepts as highlighted through the lens of the New Testament (which means I am a very strong Social Conservative).

Keeping that stand in mind this translates into Big Government is evil domestically yet essential for National Security in foreign relations, I am huge with the rule of law to be viewed via the Original Intent of the U.S. Constitution. I also have a huge distrust of all transformative ideals of the American and global Left (which tends to desire Big Government statism, top-down collectivist despotism, anti-Christian Secular Humanism, a diluted moral society and a basic anti-Capitalist/anti-Free Market economic system. In other words, the Left agenda is representative of EVERYTHING that will degrade and ultimately destroy American Liberty and the Pursuit of individual Happiness.

Also, you should be aware I am a huge supporter of Israel being a Jewish State as well as perceiving the theopolitical doctrines of Islam as antithetical to everything American and Christian. This also pegs me as a Christian Zionist and a Counterjihadist. Both concepts are viewed by the Left as either anti-Palestine or an Islamophobic racist.

If understanding the only Palestine that ever came close to existing was in ancient history an insult to Jews and in modern history a designation for the Jewish return to a national homeland that have been expelled from over and over. Understandably, the Jewish desire for the return of their homeland might be different than my Christian desire for the Jews to have their homeland returned. My Christian perspective is that the return of Israel is a sign of the return of Jesus Christ (who face it, will come to the Jews first and then the rest of the Christians who believe). Whatever the differentia is between Jewish and Christian goals for the existence of Israel, the end goal is the same.

There is one point that too many Christians fail to understand about the Jews. Both religious and secular Jews have a huge reason to mistrust Christians. As non-Jewish Christians began to dominate the faith, some theological rocket scientists … err, I mean Christian intelligentsia, began to teach that ALL Jews are responsible for the death of Jesus Christ. Thus, irrelevant of the Christian leg or denomination (e.g. but not limited to – Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Protestant), the moniker of Christ-killers was brainwashed into the minds of Christian adherents. Sadly, some Christian still use the Antisemitic moniker today. I’ll go into the reasons why this moniker is idiotic to perpetuate later.

Due to the Christ-killer moniker levelled against Jews, European Christians spent a huge part of their history persecuting Jews that included forced migrations, brutal violence, theft and murder. AND this is the reason present day Jews have a huge distrust of Christian motives. Again sadly, what is left of Middle Eastern Christians have this Christ-killer Jew-hatred still ingrained into their psyche. That is one sad explanation Middle Eastern Christians might display the same hatred of Jews that Jew-hating Muslims are disposed to act out as well.

I am a Counterjihadist not just because of Islamic terrorism so prevalent in this day and age, but also because the Quran, Hadith and Sunnah of Islam has Jew-hatred and Christian-hatred actually ingrained in these revered writings. My perspective makes Islam an Antichrist religion. Yup, that bugs me.

NOW, if you have come to this post because of Social Media, I am fairly certain there are aspects of where I stand you either agree with or disagree with AND if you are a Leftist you probably disagree with my entire stand.

As an American I believe everyone has the Right to disagree without fear of retribution on my part. I mean if I have rattled your cage to a vivid angry emotion, your Liberty enables you to choose not to read my thoughts or dispositions. In contrast my Liberty means I am free not to read another’s disposition. The idiom I like for this Liberty is: “Agree to disagree”.

Now here’s the rub of Social Media disagreement for me. I like reading and boning up on Conspiracy Theories. Also, I belong to some Social Media that espouses my Counterjihad thoughts but are a bit too far to the Right for my comfort zone. The unfortunate difficulty I run into from those Social Media Communities is a blatant Antisemitism that blames all Jews for all the ails of the world. I got to tell you, that chaps my hide.

Below is a comment of disagreement one had with my post “Disagreement on Conspiracy Theory Pt 2” at the Google Plus Community Global Info Exchange Our Community!

The link to the G+ comment at this site is HERE. The comment there duly chastised me for flirting with Conspiracy Theories informing me they don’t do that community. So now I have to remember to avoid conspiracies at that G+ location. The second comment by Shawn Jones got me into “chaps my hide” mode.

In full disclosure, I did perform a spell check on Shawn and my posts at the G+ community. So if you do go to the G+ site for varication you will notice slight variations in both our posts. Indeed, I have a feeling that Shawn might respond with a bit of his/her own chap-hide moment. The reason: Shawn is a person that obviously blames the Jews for all the ills of planet earth.

what if I told you Jews are behind the term conspiracy theory cause they got tired of people exposing them.
I suppose with a crusader avatar you would attack me? The Christ-killing Jews always hide behind Crusader avatars on Youtube and news outlets.

Actually Shawn, the Jews are probably the longest victims of idiotic Conspiracy Theories. If that is the sense you are thinking then you’d be correct. ALSO, the reality is Jews are not big fans of the Crusader image. The ***Crusaders slaughtered Jews in Jerusalem more than they did Muslims because of the idiotic conspiracy accusation of “Christ-Killers”.

A majority of the Sanhedrin Pharisees and Sadducees set up a crowd crying “Crucify Him” while barring the Jewish believers in Christ’s Messiahship before Pilate. Pilate ordered the scourging and Crucifixion. Romans forced Christ in humiliation down the Via Dolorosa, it was Romans that drove spikes through Christ’s hands and feet and it was a Roman that drove a spear through the side of Jesus to make sure He was dead.

Sounds to me if you want to blame an ancient people in modern times, you might want to look at Italians and not Jews.

But hey, Jesus said on the Cross before He died, “Father, forgive them, they know what they do”. Whoever to blame for Christ’s death is irrelevant. Jesus forgave, meaning the Father forgave. Then Jesus arose bodily from the tomb for ALL who believe to receive forgiveness of sins. Blame is idiotic.

+++

***While Writing This I sense the need to justify the Crusader icon I use to any Jewish readers that happen by.

As mentioned above, I am aware of the reason that Jews are offended by a Crusader icon. I have adopted the imagery of a Crusader Knight because it drives Muslims crazy that believe their theopolitical religion is perfect, peaceful and just. As I have already mentioned, the Islamic revered writings not only insult/condemn Jews but also condemn the central beliefs of the Christian faith. Islam condemns:

  • That Jesus is the Son of God.

  • That Jesus was Crucified.

  • That Jesus arose bodily from the tomb.

  • That Jesus is both fully human and fully God (essential for Salvation).

And these Antichrist issues are just ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I am aware that religious Jews also have a problem Jesus as the Son of God and the bodily Resurrection of Jesus from death to life. Unlike Muslims, Jews will not threaten to hunt me down and lop off my head for my Christian faith. As a Christian I believe religious Jews will accept Jesus as Messiah when the see the Second Coming of this son of David. Again the Second Coming of Jesus probably is not tickling heart of joy for religious Jews before His return. But I look at it this way.

Every single Apostles of Jesus (The Twelve) were Jewish. Even the traitor Judas Iscariot. The Apostle Thomas was the last to believe in Jesus’ Resurrection from death to life. WHY?

Thomas wanted to see the Resurrected Jesus complete with the scars left by the Crucifixion.

John 20: 24-29 NKJV

24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”

So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” 27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas,[a] because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Take note that Jesus was not pleased with Thomas’ disbelief, but simply said bless are who believe without seeing. If one is a Christian, he believes without seeing. At Christ’s Second Coming, it is my belief the Doubting Thomas Jews will believe when they see Him. Jews simply missed out on the blessing because of unbelief. No blessing doesn’t mean a curse. It merely means you missed when you could have had it earlier.

Christian Apathy Contributes to Terrorism and Anti-Semitism

A close Internet friend sent me a link to an Earl Cox post in Breaking Israel News. Mr. Cox is described as a broadcaster and journalist that is a friend of the Jewish State of Israel. And from the tenor of the article I perceive he is a Christian Zionist – my kind of guy.

Christian Apathy Contributes to Terrorism and Anti-Semitism

Breaking Israel News

Where are all of the Christians who should be standing for right and against wrong? Where are all of the Christians who should be standing for Israel? G-d Himself in Genesis 12:3 said, “I will bless those who bless you (Israel) and the one who curses you (does not stand) I will curse.”

A basic premise of Christian faith and roots has everything to do with Israel. To ignore Israel is to shun G-d’s word of an eternal covenant with His Chosen People, the Jews, and an eternal covenant cannot be broken. Our silence in our own countries also affects Israel, its land and people. It is imperative that Christians all over the world stand and contend for Israel.

By remaining silent or neutral, Christians are enabling evil everywhere to flourish. Being apathetic is yielding to the preponderance and brutal degree of inhumane suffering caused by those who live outside the Judeo-Christian ethic.

The tenets of good and evil based on Judeo-Christian principles have been our standard, even mainstay, for two thousand years and they have served humanity well so why change them? It would be better to perfect the world based on G-d’s principles than to change them based on the world’s persistence on mixing up right and wrong. Evil and wickedness are the result and terror, it seems, is the means in this postmodern world.

It was during the Holocaust that a Christian minister in Germany observed the changing mindset of the people and the Nazi slaughter of the Jews. He is quoted as saying “silence in the face of evil is itself evil. G-d will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” These are sobering words that loudly ring of truth today.

In this time of resurgent violence against Israeli Jews that is by now recognizably cyclic in intensity but always simmering historically, we Christians absolutely must defend our brothers and sisters in Israel. While some have been active for quite a long time, others who should be active are sadly remaining silent and on the sidelines.

The call to stand up for Israel is true also for Jews in order that they do not have their religion and rights undermined by legal means, media opposition or other hostile opposition. As far as media opposition, the Jews of Israel have a lot to lose if a particular Israeli English speaking leftist paper were to have its way. We already see what hostile opposition looks like. There is currently an apparent legal opposition to Jewish history and sacred sites now by the UN with UNESCO’s declaration of Rachel’s Tomb and the Cave of the Patriarchs as being Muslim.

We have a biased international body with certain legal abilities to change history and likely alter visitation rights to holy sites sacred to both Christians and Jews. The modern rewriting of the history of the Temple Mount by Muslims is well known. Injustice to Jewish history must be opposed on all fronts.

It is essential for Christians and Jews to work together. We must take our Judeo-Christian principles to the courts in each of our countries, to the world courts and to university campuses. We must teach and uphold our G-d given Judeo-Christian principles and make certain the facts on the ground are accurately taught (and reported) to be sure students are receiving accurate information in their quest for a balanced education.

It will take every ounce of our strength here in America to keep our government aligned in allegiance to the G-d given land of Israel and to the Jewish nation of Israel. What G-d provides, no man has a right to discard or destroy. The commandments and covenants of G-d are forever and when He says they are eternal that is exactly what He means … forever. Standing for Israel is the same as standing for G-d and vice-versa.

It is only in democratic, freedom loving societies mostly in the U.S., Europe and Israel that Christians really are able to take a stand for the faith without punitive retribution. For the moment this is true but the future is uncertain if we remain silent and allow evil to gain ground and triumph.

Let us remember the haunting words of Martin Niemoller (1892-1984), a prominent Protestant pastor who said, “First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.”

Are YOU a Kafir?

Islamic Hate Crime

What is a kafir (kafr, kufar and any similarly translated from Arabic to English)?

A kāfir (كافر ; plural كفّار kuffār) is a disbeliever, someone who rejects Allah and who does not believe in Muhammad as the final messenger of Allah.[1][2] Although Christians and Jews are called the People of the Book (أهل الكتاب ahl al-kitab), they qualify as disbelievers[3][4][5] according to the Qur’an. The word “kafir” can be offensive to non-Muslims, as it has roots meaning “concealer” and “ingrate” implying that non-Muslims are liars. It is also often used by Muslims as an extremely offensive curse word. Other terms which are used to refer to non-Muslims include “faasiq” (sinner, corrupt) and “munafiq” (hypocrite). (Kafir; WikiIslam; page was last modified 05:44, 3 August 2013 by WikiIslam user WIBot.)

I’m a Born Again Christian Right kind-of-guy with huge Counterjihad sympathies; ergo by Islamic definition I am a kafir.

Let’s presume someone is a Left Wing agnostic/atheist with huge critical thought issues about the existence of any religion. YOU would be a kafir.

I came across a little 4 minute 23 second teaching moment by Bill Warner that exposes just how much Islam is taught to hate anyone that fits the kafir bill. Warner uses an example of Muslim prayers that utilize the Arabic word “kafir” but which Muslim apologists might hide the meaning with that word by translating it into the English semi-equivalent “unbeliever”. Or further talk about kafir-Jews and/or kafir-Christians with cryptic meanings left for the Muslim to assume and for a non-Muslim think of a nicer equivalent from their own faith.

For instance in Christianity the Holy Bible says to pray for enemies. In Islam it says kill your enemies for disrespecting Allah or Mo. In Christianity we are taught that unbelievers of the Resurrection of the Son of God Jesus Christ will pay the price with eternal separation from God in Hell with Satan, the Antichrist and False Prophet. BUT God is the Judge thus an unbeliever has the opportunity to repent of unbelief right up to their last breath to be accepted into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son. In Islam if one remains an unbeliever in a state of refusal to submit to Allah, that unbeliever is worthy to suffer a horrible death today because Allah will inflict horrible torture upon the unbeliever in death in hell.

One surah Warner will talk about is Quran 1: 6-7:

Keep us on the right path. The path of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed favors. Not (the path) of those upon whom Thy wrath is brought down, nor of those who go astray. (Bold text The Religion of Peace)

In the Hadith Bukhari 56: 662 Mo was asked for clarification of the above sura about who are those of “upon whom Thy wrath is brought down” and upon “those who go astray”.

Narrated Abu Said:

The Prophet said, “You will follow the wrong ways, of your predecessors so completely and literally that if they should go into the hole of a mastigure, you too will go there.” We said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Do you mean the Jews and the Christians?” He replied, “Whom else?” (Meaning, of course, the Jews and the Christians.)

Warner will tell you in the video the first reference are Jews and the second are Christians.

The very theopolitical religion known as Islam is a hate crime waiting to happen. The Muslim excuses to justify a hate crime against a kafir are all in the Quran, Hadith and Sira. If a Muslim ever tells you that Islam is peace, that person is either an outright deceiving liar or under the delusion of believing a lie.

Here are two fantastic analyses of the hate crime religion Islam:

·         Islam teaches Hate Crimes; By JAKE NEUMAN; FaithFreedom.org; 5/20/13

And now to Bill Warner’s roughly four minute teaching moment about Islam’s real theopolitical ideology on kafir.

Prayers for Kafirs

April 1, 2015

Since over half of Islamic doctrine is about Kafirs (non-Muslims), it follows that prayers would include Kafirs too, so every day, a Muslim prays for the punishment and suffering of all Kafirs. The prayers also follow the Koranic doctrine that Muslims are not to be a true friend of them. Muslims are to forsake and turn away from Kafirs.

Not only are all Kafirs to suffer punishment in hell, but Christians and Jews are singled out to be worthy of Allah’s anger and are condemned in their beliefs.

In the end, all references to Kafirs in Islamic prayer are negative, demeaning and hateful.

About politicalislam.com

What is Islam?

Islam is a cultural, religious and political system. Only the political system is of interest to kafirs (non-Muslims) since it determines how we are defined and treated. The Islamic political system is contained in the Koran, the Hadith (the traditions of Mohammed) and his biography, the Sira.

Our Mission

Our mission is to educate the world about political Islam, its founder Mohammed, his political doctrine and his god, Allah.

The Five Principles

Islam’s Trilogy of three sacred texts is the Koran and two books about the life of Mohammed. When the Trilogy is sorted, categorized, arranged, rewritten and analyzed, it becomes apparent that five principles are the foundation of Islam.

All of Islam is based upon the Trilogy—Koran, Sira (Mohammed’s biography) and Hadith (his Traditions).

Most of the Islamic doctrine is political, not religious. Islam is a political ideology.

Islam divides the world into Muslims and unbelievers, kafirs.

Pinky and the Brain - World Domination

A person going by the pseudonym ‘Phirst Lasname’ placed a comment to the NCCR post “Grand Jury Probable Cause Evidence”. That post is roughly a comparison of the police caused deaths of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri and of Eric Garner in NYC. Both deaths were the result of an attempted arrest that was being resisted by Black Americans by White American Police Officers. My position was Brown’s death was justified because of an intimidating robbery followed closely by an extremely life-threatening resistance to Officer Darren Wilson’s arrest. And Garner’s death was unjustified even though he put up a resistance to about four NYPD Officers of which one – Daniel Pantaleo – placed Garner in an illegal (per NYPD rules) choke hold resulting in death. Brown’s crime was robbery and a drug crazed attack. Garner’s crime was selling single cigarettes black market style. To most of America it seems silly to arrest someone for hawking cigs on the streets but it is disdained in NYC because that city charges an exorbitant surcharge on cigarette packs and cartons. A deadly choke hold in Garner’s case is a bit exorbitant for a non-violent white collar black market crime.

That lengthy summary of that post was necessary because Phirst’s comment really did not make a lot of sense to that post. Phirst’s comment is a political-racist-Conspiracy Theory diatribe against Neocons, Christians and Jews.

Phirst begins his comment with a quote from me as the launching pad for his diatribe. The problem is the quote is from a December 7 cross post that was from United With Israel. He is commenting to my intro:

If you have read any posts on this blog pertaining to Israel you know I am an avid supporter of Israel. Also I am a bit off the politically correct path in today’s world in that I do not believe the Arabs that call themselves Palestinians are deserving of a sovereign nation in land originally intended for a Jewish State at the end of WWI AND from a Biblical perspective the Land is promised by God Almighty as the home of the Jews.

That being said President Barack Hussein Obama’s treatment of Israel is heinous as both a U.S. ally, the treatment of Israel in light of the Bible, the treatment Israel in promoting the Arab fakers that call themselves Palestinians. Not to mention that these pseudo-Palestinians are nothing but a combination Jew-hating Islamic terrorists and/or those that are Jew-hating supporters of Islamic terrorists.

Obama’s throw-Israel-under-the-bus mentality to create a sovereign Palestinian state will set Israel up for the destruction that Muslims around the world pray to their demonic deity Allah to occur. Part of sovereign Palestine fallacy is to rip half of the City of David which is Jerusalem away from the Jewish state to give it to the psycho-pseudo-Palestinians.

United With Israel reports that Obama’s insidiousness against Israel continues by threatening sanctions for building homes for Jews in their own Capital City. At the same time Obama continues to placate an Israel-hating Iran by removing sanctions emboldening this Muslim rogue nation to produce nuke Inter-Continent Ballistic missiles.

I am going to cross post Phirst Lasname’s diatribe for your reading displeasure, but first I am going to share my thoughts on Neocons, Christian world domination and Jewish world domination.

Neoconservative World Domination

Neocons are unpopular with both Leftists and Conservatives (particularly Paleoconservatives). The reality about Neocons is that many don’t agree with other. Some Neocons lean toward an affinity for some Leftist ideals, some lean more toward more traditional Conservative ideals yet have an affinity for big government especially in the sense of maintaining a high budget military and some definitely have the appearance of a Neocon yet may identify themselves as a Liberal or Center-Left Liberal or as a Center-Right Liberal or just a mere Centrist Independent. The thing is Neoconservatism have been so vilified that the appellation Neocon has become epithet to a large amount of the Left and Right.

The most critical on the Right and who is the most noted Paleocon is Pat Buchanan:

‘… [N]eoconservatism [is] “a globalist, interventionist, open borders ideology.”’ (Quoted from – quoted in the New York Times on September 8, 2002 and found at Wikipedia)

Buchanan’s venom is typical of the detractors of Neoconservatism. Now read a quote from the person considered the godfather of Neoconservatism – Irving Kristol:

‘Perhaps the most famous of Kristol’s aphorisms is that a “neoconservative is a liberal who has been mugged by reality.”’ (The Moral Realism of Irving Kristol; By ERIC COHEN; National Affairs – ISSUE NUMBER 2 ~ WINTER 2010)

In full disclosure I have Neocon leanings yet I definitely lean more to the Right than the typical Neocon stereotype. In my youth I was not really a political person but I came from a loyal Dem Party family when it came to voting. My Grandmother was an adult during the Depression and my Mother was a teenager just after the Depression. Ergo my family unwittingly were devoted Dems because they were propagandized to believe FDR delivered America out of the Depression.

I grew devoted to Democrat Senator Henry (Scoop) Jackson who ironically many of the Neocon persuasion hail Jacksonian politics as a precursor to Neoconservatism. Like the youth of my day I was anti-Vietnam War but not because I felt the war was wrong. Rather I thought the military strategy in Vietnam of maintaining a status quo until the very corrupt South Vietnamese government was able to defeat both the Viet Cong rebels and the North Vietnamese regular army was a defeat waiting to happen – and defeat did come in 1975. Wars should be fought to win with whatever it takes or ultimately a defeat will occur.

I favored Unions even though Unions were not a powerful element in Washington State. I was a bit New Agie but hardly dedicated. I thought there might be something to Socialism but Communism I considered an evil of the ages. I held humanist ideals and questioned Christian ideals as outdated. But really the politics of it all was definitely not at the top of my list. I was a party-hearty doper looking for the next party.

Then I set out to prove the Bible as irrelevant to my than future first wife. I can’t explain how it happened, but I didn’t get past the four Gospels before I became a Born-Again Spirit-Filled Christian in the late 1970s. My old lifestyle definitely did not match my new man in Christ Jesus. So I plunged into studying the Bible eventually heading to Oklahoma to attend RHEMA Bible Training Center (now RHEMA Bible Training College).

Becoming a Conservative was not an immediate transformation in my case. In my mind Republican Conservatives were epitomized by Reagan loving nuke button pushing warmongers. I could not bring myself to vote for Reagan in 1980 but I didn’t wasn’t voting Democrat. So I delved into Libertarianism becoming a lover individual choice and a Market Economy. Over the next few years I began to realize Libertarians were dominated by Social Liberals as equally as they were to a Market economy. Again that didn’t match up with the new man Christian I had become. So I shed the Social Liberal Libertarians, kept the Free Market ideals and politically became a part of the Christian Right on a social level.

In 1984 I not only voted for President Reagan I relished in the moral-market-Conservatism he came to symbolize. Then came 1988 and my first disillusion with the GOP. Republicans nominated Vice President George H. W. Bush as President – he won. In my mind GHW Bush was a part of the corrupt cabal of Richard Nixon of notorious Watergate infamy. Gerald Ford gave Nixon a blanket pardon to protect him from prosecution. In January 1976 Ford made GHW Bush Direct of Central Intelligence (DCI) which lasted through January 1977.

As far as I could find GHW Bush had no direct link to the Watergate cover-up; however Nixon was cozy with Prescott Bush and thus moved GHW up the political ladder of the GOP Establishment all the while GHW being extremely loyal to Nixon even through the Watergate expose of illegal activities and the discovered cover-up.

With Ford blanketing Nixon from prosecution, Bush’s loyalty to Nixon and the subsequent Ford appointment of GHW as Director of Central Intelligence; on a personal level I had a great distrust of GHW Bush as Reagan’s VP and subsequent election to POTUS in 1988. In that 1988 election I voted for GHW because the other choice was über Leftist Michael Dukakis. In 1992 Ross Perot was Free Market Conservative enough that I voted for him. This undoubtedly led to Clinton’s victory.

By 2000 I had become closer to the Neocons. I went from reading the Objectivism of Ayn Rand to a fascination with Leo Strauss. Although it is doubtful that Strauss would identify himself as a Neocon, the fact remains that many former students and admirers have the label of Neocon. Strauss may have more critics than even the Neocons do. Strauss had an affinity for the ancient philosophers through to the 18th or perhaps early 19th century. Strauss believed that the bottom line of those philosophers was an esoteric teaching that only the intelligent elite might comprehend. But most of the criticism of Strauss is his highlighting of Plato’s Noble Lie. The Noble Lie is the thought the intellectual ruling elite by necessity keep negative info away from the general population to promote a religious and moral mythos that provides inner stability within society itself.

I got to tell you though the aspect of Neoconservatism I am all in with is the promoting of the principles of American Exceptionalism even if military action is required to do so. I was originally all in with the concept of nation building with the democratic-republic being taught to formerly despotic nations. I have modified that view with America’s decade-plus long war prosecuted in Afghanistan and Iraq demonstrated that the American principles of individual Rights, Liberty and Freedom will never stick among a people that totalitarianism is infused into cultures dominated by Islam.

Is there a Neocon cabal intent of global domination?

NO!

Closest thing to a Neocon cabal are a group of people intent on working within the framework of the U.S. Constitution to prevent Marxist principles from ruining America’s Liberty and to have a strong enough central government to maintain a strong military to at the very enforce a Pax Americana within our borders. Everything in between is in flux according to how far Right a Neocon might be. For instance on the issue of immigration would support reform to provide a stable manner of incorporating immigrants into an assimilation of American culture. Yet Neocons will have a difficult time forming a mutual consensus on booting out the current illegals or processing a program that promotes assimilation rather than multicultural diversity. Face it promoting multicultural diversity instills cultural chaos rather than societal common ground.

Christian World Domination

The closest thing there has ever been a Christian World Dominating polity is when Constantine the Great made Christianity the Roman State religion and made an effort to unify divergent dogmas via Ecumenical Councils.

On a personal level I believe the Presence of God was present in the early Councils via the Holy Spirit; however whenever human hands take the reins of interpretation human hands screw up the Will of God on the Divine grand design and only the unfathomable Grace and Mercy of God delays that grand design giving humanity every opportunity to draw nearer to God. There will be a time when the polity and culture of humanity will look closer to the days of Noah. When those days come God Almighty will force the issue of the Divine grand design for humanity and the earth in general.

There will be a day of a Christian World Domination but it WILL NOT be by the hands of humanity. Read the last couple chapters of the Revelation of John and discover World Domination will be instituted by the return of Jesus Christ as the Messiah/King who will eventually rule in perpetuity. By the way a message to you Jew-hating White Supremacists, Christians and Muslims: the return of Jesus entails returning Jews first the Land Promised them then to the rest of the nations of the world.

1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John,[a] saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me,[b] “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

6 And He said to me, “It is done![c] I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things,[d] and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving,[e] abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Revelation 21: 1-8 NKJV)

12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”[a]

14 Blessed are those who do His commandments,[b] that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But[c]outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. (Revelation 22: 12-17 NKJV)

Check that last two chapters to reading the last three chapters. Hmm … Just read the entire Revelation of John. Now that is Christian World Domination the God-way and NOT the man-way.

Jewish World Domination

There has NEVER been a Jewish agenda to rule the world. All that religious Jews ever wanted is to return to their homeland once expelled. Secular and dimwitted … err I mean unwitting Leftist Jews that embrace the Zionist movement of the early 20th century and desire a land to live in peace free of the global persecution they have experienced for thousands of years living as a Diaspora among predominantly Antisemitic/Jew-hating Gentiles.

If there are any morons out there that use the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion as proof positive there is a cabal of Jews intent on World Domination your both deceived and delusional. This document was never written by any learned Jewish elders. It is proven that it is a hoax put together under the administration of Czar Nicholas II (the same executed by Communist Lenin) in the late 19th century which was adopted from a fiction story concocted in France then enhanced in Prussia and finally reaching to Czarist Russia (See HERE, HERE and HERE is a moronic page asserting the authenticity of the Protocols).

Jewish World Domination theologically is definitely not a present day phenomena. The true Jewish agenda from the very Orthodox to the Reformed is to better one’s self. From my brief gleaning of information most Jews (primarily the strictest Orthodox through Conservative) believe in some kind of Messiah coming to better the world’s existence, BUT that future Messiah is not of Divine origin as Christian’s do believe in Jesus Christ and His Second Coming.

Apparently there is a dispute among Jewish theologians that a Messianic age arrives depending on two sides of a coin. Some believe when the world has achieved a harmonious enough existence a Messiah will emerge to perpetuate that harmony eternally for the Jews and extending to the Righteous Gentile nations (no forced conversions to Judaism). The other side of the coin is the belief that the world becomes so sinfully and politically corrupt that a Messiah emerges to bring global harmony for the Jews and the Righteous Gentiles in perpetuity (Again, no forced Judaic conversions). The key for both sides of the coin is global peaceful harmony for all humanity because Jews and Gentiles alike will just know to do right and eschew doing evil. As a Christian Zionist myself that is the simplest summary I can think of yet I am positive from a Jewish perspective I have not provided a summary that Jews would find acceptable enough. As in theologies it is a bit more complicated.

ONE thing is certain though. Like the final outcome a Christian World Domination, a Jewish World Domination has nothing to do ruling by might, human emotional whims nor totalitarian despotism. Rather everyone just knows what is Right.

Some good websites that fill in the details of the Jewish “World to Come” (Olam Ha-Ba) are below for my fellow Gentiles and/or Christian Zionists:

With all this being said, you have to know I was a bit annoyed with this guy who goes by the pseudonym Phirst Lasname. His warped sense of reality is pretty summed up by this quote from his comment below:

Neocons, Christians? And Jews? Alike, are a lot like arsonists posing as firefighters, a lot like John Orr.

I wasn’t sure who John Orr is. Apparently he was an arsonist that actually was an arson investigator: See HERE and HERE.

Phirst is thus comparing Neocons, Christians and Jews to a murderer who killed by fire.

CREEP!

If you have read any posts on this blog pertaining to Israel you know I am an avid supporter of Israel. Also I am a bit off the politically correct path in today’s world in that I do not believe the Arabs that call themselves Palestinians are deserving of a sovereign nation in land originally intended for a Jewish State at the end of WWI AND from a Biblical perspective the Land is promised by God Almighty as the home of the Jews.” [Blog Editor: Old ‘Phirst’ placed this comment under “Grand Jury …” but this quote is actually from my blog post entitled, “Obama Threatens to Punish Israel for …”. The quote is from my intro to a “United With Israel” cross post on NCCR from December 7, 2014.]

Is an Israel Firster any better than a blame America Firster?

Khazars who call themselves Jews.

Land promised by God 3000 years ago, and was lost 300-400 years later. Enter the New Second Covenant. Jesus. Christianity. A clean slate.

The new zionist state was created in 1948. Was that the third covenant?

WW1, people should listen to the Benjamin H. Freedman 1961 speech, and read his 1974 speech.

Israel did 9/11, and everyone right, left and center who is informed and honest, knows it.
Al Qaeda and ISIS/CRISIS are of, by and for the neocon agenda, militant zionism, Israel.

When it comes to Benghazi, all means, motive and opportunity points to neocon involvement, and the only beneficiary was at that time was then presidential candidate Mitt Romney…A manufactured foreign policy crisis against Obama was Romney’s “October Surprise” in September.

Nothing else adds up.

There are few things more insidious than misdirected patriotism.

Neocons, Christians? And Jews? Alike, are a lot like arsonists posing as firefighters, a lot like John Orr.

Watch the HBO 2002 tv movie ‘Point of Origin’ starring Ray Liotta as John Orr, and you will see how the neocon masters operate.

I used to be passionately pro-Israel for years…there was a time when I wanted Benjamin Netanyahu to be president of the United States.

But eventually I woke up, and I started to see things for how they actually are.

As for Obama, the gay Muslim socialist from Kenya, he must be doing something right for all the zionazis to hate him so much… Maybe it’s because he doesn’t believe in the White Horse Prophecy like Romney does.

Obama doesn’t want Apocalypse Now, and all the twisted nihilists and zionazis do, and they hate him for delaying their dream, what every sane person would call a nightmare.

Romney was a Rhino? … Does that mean he wasn’t nihilistic enough?… I think he was.

You wanna be real patriots?

Support the Constitution, RESTORE the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Repeal the so called “Patriot Act”, and ban the TSA.

You want to really support the troops?

Then, BRING THEM HOME.

Do you love your children?

Then, DON’T START A NUCLEAR WAR.

Stop provoking the Russians in Ukraine, which used to be a democracy until the neocon mafia staged a coup and overthrew the Kiev government. THEN Crimeans voted to secede from the dictatorship in Kiev, which is every people’s right throughout the world, including in America. People have the right to self-determination.

If there was a coup in Washington, the states would have the right to break ties with Washington.

As for “terrorism”.

The neocons ARE the terrorists.

The real enemy and threat is militant zionism. The real caliphate is the zionist caliphate.
The real jihad is the neocon jihad against democracy and peace.

The war on terror is in truth a war OF terror by Israel, Washington and Riyadh. In that order.
The neocon war of terror is self-fulfilling and a vicious cycle that can only escalate and grow worse until it goes nuclear.

You want to win the war?

STOP FIGHTING IT.

Stop fighting a phantom menace, manufactured enemies like ISIS.
Tell Netanyahu to send his terror army back home, and end the genocidal proxy war against Syria.

Make peace with Iran…Iran would be a better ally than a fake enemy.

Throw Israel under the bus, and Britain, too — with friends like that, who needs enemies?

If Not Now … When?

Superman- Truth, Justice & American Way comic jk 2

Norma Zager uses just the right metaphors that should get Americans to at least generate some thoughts on the Western World’s most obvious common enemy – the believers of the purest-minded theopolitical ideology inherent in Islam.

Norma self-analyzed herself as to the reason her favorite comic book hero was Superman. She chose a valid yet a little different reason than I for Superman to be her favorite. As Norma pointed out Supes was born on another planet (Krypton for you non-comic book readers). For me this represents the American melting pot. America is a land of immigrants that have assimilated into one Anglo-based culture recognizing England as the Mother-Country. Former cultures honored – one culture upheld. Superman’s assimilation is represented by the experience I remember from childhood in that Supes stands for Truth, Justice and the American WayRed, White and Blue.

In reality Superman’s image has evolved (See Also HERE) according to the pressing needs of the times from creation to the present. I did comics from roughly 1963 right up to the end of eighth grade in roughly 1970. I grew up with Superman the consummate Patriot incapable lying, definitively knows the difference between good and evil, defender of the weak and an upholder of the Liberty and Freedom that this present day’s Conservatives understand. That is my Superman.

[I’m an Evangelical-Charismatic Christian that is extremely pro-Israel. So if you are in my same boat you will be interested in how the then teens Siegel and Shuster began their concept of Superman. Can you say two American-Jewish boys? They lived in an era when antisemitism was not only rampant but cool.]

If Not Now … When?

By Norma Zager

Sent: 11/7/2014 4:55 PM

“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality… I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.”  Martin Luther King

Spending time last weekend at Stan Lee’s Comikaze among the superhero population, aside from the fun raised some important questions I have yet to answer.

First in my mind is why has my favorite superhero always been Superman with the plethora of choices from which to select.  Although I had never before given it much thought, believing it was because he was one of the first to arrive on the scene and capture our imaginations, on reflection I understand that is not the truth.

Truth be told, my adoration for Superman stems from the fact he is from another planet. Could this have been some deep seeded and early cynicism within myself that we on earth were not capable of saving mankind from itself?

It is entirely possible, for my attitude has not changed.

Despite the numerous times in history when Jews and Christians have come together to combat evil, we are now more than ever before at odds. Evidence of the success of such an alliance exists at the Garden of the Righteous at Yad Vashem (Jerusalem, Israel), for the many gentiles who saved Jews during World War II.

It is a fact that although many Christians have more openly and furtively supported Israel in the past ten years, there remains no alliance that is forged strong enough to combat the significant threat we face.

Sadly in a world that now allows murder and genocide to reign supreme, the voices raised to speak out against these atrocities are few.

When Christians were facing wholesale extinction recently in Iraq and in numerous other places throughout the continent, not even Christians stood and called for war against this evil.

The Pope, the world’s most prominent and well-funded religious leader, was silent until recently when he condemned the killings.  But words are not actions.

Of course I am not saying speaking out is not a good first start, but it does little to stop the kidnappings, beheadings and heinous crimes being perpetrated hourly against Christians.

With the creation of the modern Jewish State of Israel in 1948, Jews became protected. They were no longer a people wandering and visiting among nations. The strength and resolve of Israel has been a blanket of safety for Jewish people, and all cultures and religions likewise maintain a net of safety and freedom while living in Israel.

However the world is now facing its greatest threat. A holy war is raging and few acknowledge its existence. This Neville Chamberlain mentality has led to terrorism poisoning the fabric of the world and like a cancer, killing the healthy cells.

So what is the chemotherapy necessary to overcome this deadly virus, and has it metastasized too far to be eradicated?

The response to evil by world leaders has been so mediocre it is barely audible through the noise of death and destruction raging and killing across the world. So tepid are the waters of discontent, it is difficult to discern them at all.

So what can be done?

Many things, but they must be done aggressively and immediately if the poison is to be eliminated from the human spirit.

First, Jews and Christians must put their differences aside and realize they face a common enemy. I liken it to earth being attacked by aliens. We have all now become members of one team, like it or not.

Whatever petty quarrels exist between Jews and Christians are far less important than stopping the murders of children.

However, this alliance cannot solidify unless Christians also acknowledge the bad blood amongst themselves.  The Christian world is as divisive as the Sunni and Shia sects in Islam. There is no ability to join together and unite against a common enemy when they see other Christians as enemies.

Then the Muslims must also speak out in a louder voice.

Meetings between Israel and the Saudis filled me with a renewed sense of hope. At last I believed the leaders of Arabia have seen the light and the wisdom of putting hatred aside to battle a common evil.  This excitement was short lived however when I realized Saudi schoolbooks and policies still preach hatred and condemnation of Jews.

This outward façade of working together, of joining in battle, is far too weak to sustain any strength of resolve.

Ancient hatreds are powerful and embedded deeply in the psyche of a nation and cannot mend overnight, especially when they are still perpetrated among the masses. Only by removing all emotion can we hope to succeed and save ourselves.

Teaching children to hate and kill Jews will not build a united army against a common enemy. Although the only hope for the world is to overcome hatred and separatism, no one has yet been able to cut it out of the body.

Even in the United States where all live freely to practice their religions, race baiters continue to preach hatred where none exists to line their own financial coffers and political agendas.

If it happens in the U.S. shall we be surprised it remains a large part of the Middle Eastern mentality?

I don’t wish to sound hopeless, so I must believe that walking the walk will follow talking the talk and ultimately become the norm.

If it is no longer true that my enemy’s enemy is my friend, we are lost.

We must join together, for whatever commonalities we can conjure, to battle this new evil before it overtakes the world and destroys humanity.

Jews and Christians more than any other religions share much in common. This is the time for them to solidify their efforts to battle for good in an evil world.

If not now, when? After we have all been eradicated and the last voice of reason croaks out a regret from his deathbed? “We should have done more together…we were fools to put petty differences ahead of humankind…” cough – cough – cough and silence.

Antisemitism of Middle Eastern Christians

John R. Houk

© September 15, 2014

Senator Ted Cruz was the keynote speaker at the In Defense of Christians (IDC) summit held in Washington DC on September 10 of 2014. The IDC summit was a bit historical due to the attendance of some Eastern Rite clergy leaders that do not always see eye to eye on matters of theology. In order to make a long story summarized Senator Cruz not only stood with the solidarity for the plight of Christian genocide executed by ISIS but made a stand for Israel as a friend for Christians in the Middle East. This didn’t go over so well with the Eastern Rite Christians visiting the summit away from their homelands in the Middle East.

So at this point it might be a good idea to look at the IDC Awareness and Advocacy page to see what they are about:

Awareness and advocacy are the two fundamental components of IDC’s work. Awareness is broadly focused on bringing attention in the United States and the western world to the plight of the ancient Christian communities of the Middle East. Advocacy is narrowly focused on the U.S. foreign policy community, influencing policymakers to promote values abroad that are consistent with the universal human rights of religion and conscience.

These values are not exclusively Christian, nor does IDC seek only to protect the human rights of Christians, but all religious groups. These rights are universal, applicable to all human persons. In this sense, “Christian” refers not only those who confess the Christian faith, but also Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, Baha’i, and even the freedom to confess no religious belief at all.

IDC believes that America’s foreign policy apparatus, especially the State Department, too often projects indifference on the question of persecuted religious minorities in the region, especially Christians – a policy that only invites further violence.   In some instances, the U.S. government even provides significant foreign aid to regimes that persecute Christians, as with Pakistan and now Egypt.  With a vigorous and sustained public awareness and advocacy campaign, IDC believes this can change.

So to be clear, the IDC peers through the eyes of a diverse Christian perspective that is inclusive of the civil rights of other religious faiths. As one of those kind-of-guys that Christ is the only way to God I may have a bit of a problem of the inclusiveness of other faiths, especially Islam. I don’t have a problem with diversity within Christianity as long as long as those diverse sects, Denominations and Rites follow the basics of Christian faith, viz. Jesus was crucified, died on the Cross, was in the grave for three day and arose in Resurrection to Redeem humanity from this wicked world. As well as include that Jesus Christ is the one and only (First Begotten) Son of God and devoted to the mystery of the Trilogy – Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three persons consisted simultaneously in ONE God. All the other theological mumbo jumbo – in my humble opinion – will not affect one’s Salvation.

On the other hand it is a righteous thing to defend the civil rights of a persecuted people. If Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Baha’is or other religious people are being singled out for violence and/or extermination; it is a Christian godly move to denounce the persecutors for heinous acts. Nevertheless I am suspicious of Christians that water down their faith to be inclusive rather than respectful of religious faiths.

And just for clarity’s sake I nearly always give a pass to Jews that are suspicious and critical Christian motives. Jews have been the recipients of heinous persecution for thousands of years. NONETHELESS, I refuse to denounce Jews or Judaism for its insularism or it dislike for outsiders for one primary reason: Salvation is of the Jews.

I realize this is a reprehensible thought among Jews but I believe Jesus Christ is as much the Messiah to Jews as he is to non-Jews. I believe it was a part of the God’s plan for the Redemption of all humanity through Jesus who was born as a sinless man to provide the remittance price that brings humanity back to God Almighty. I believe because of the Abrahamic Covenant Jesus the Messiah was born a Jew and ministered the Good News of His coming to the Jews  because as the Apostle Paul says, “To the Jews first and then the Gentiles.”

From the Christian perspective here is a summary that fits my belief that Israel is a Promise of God to the Jews and eventually the Jews will recognize Christ as their Messiah:

From the first human beings God created and placed in the Garden of Eden, to the very last person born on this earth, our gracious God has offered salvation to sinners on the basis of faith in the promised “seed,” Jesus Christ. Before Messiah’s birth, Old Testament saints admitted their sin and trusted in the “seed” who was to come, and they were saved. Adam and Eve were given the promise of deliverance through their “seed” (Genesis 3:15), and they believed (see Genesis 4:25-26). So it was with Abraham as well:

After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; your reward shall be very great.” And Abram said, “O Lord God, what wilt Thou give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “Since Thou hast given no offspring to me, one born in my house is my heir.” Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one who shall come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.” And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” Then he believed in the Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness (Genesis 15:1-6).

Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God’; and you have not come to know Him, but I know Him; and if I say that I do not know Him, I shall be a liar like you, but I do know Him, and keep His word. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” The Jews therefore said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am” (John 8:54-58). THE ENTIRE ESSAY IS ILLUMINATING – READ IT (The Promised Seed: The Source of Blessing in God’s Perfect Plan; By Bob Deffinbaugh; Bible.org; 5/17/04)

So I am a Jesus-is-the-only-way kind of guy and all the Promises to the Jews from God are still effective and one day the Jews as a religious people will recognize Jesus Christ as their Messiah. I will never condemn Jews with idiotic conspiracy theories and the Promise of Land is a restoration miracle that shows the time of Jesus Christ’s return is closer in time than any other time in history.

Now in affirming my faith in Christ and God’s Promises to the Jews I do get a bit disturbed when I read of Christians that are antisemitic. AND I am disturbed that there are still Christians out there that place blame on Jews for crucifying Christ. This is idiotic considering Christ’s death, burial and Resurrection is what brings Salvation to those who believe in the Redemptive act of the Lord Jesus Christ. How moronic is it to hate Jews or Roman Gentiles for that matter for killing Christ when the Lord’s death was a necessary sacrifice to transfer humanity out of the dominion of Satan and into the Kingdom of the Father’s dear Son?

Since the days of Islamic conquest of the Christian lands of the Middle East that were formerly a part of the Christian Roman Empire, Muslim brutality slowly shrank the Christian majority making the faithful a minority in their own land. Even in seasons of tolerance Christians and Jews were required to submit to the rules of Islam. This meant an absolute acceptance of Islamic Supremacist Sharia Law. Part of Sharia was to enforce rules regarding non-Muslims living under Islamic rule. This meant the rules which can be anglicized as dhimmitude based and later expanded upon the so-called Pact of Umar:

The so-called “pact of Umar” is of uncertain authorship and exists in various versions. It is a document that regulates the behavior of Christians and Jews in Muslim lands, Supposedly, it was supposedly originally given by the Caliph Umar ibn al Khatib as a treaty to the patriarch of Jerusalem, Sophronias. but in actual fact it is a reflection of customs that had evolved in the lands conquered by the Muslims under Umar bin Aziz and later caliphs. The document illustrates the position of Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians and some others in Muslim society: they were “protected,” provided that they “knew their place.”

However, though it is probable that the document itself is an impostor, like the forged “Donation of Constantine,” it is important because it was accepted as genuine. It was used as the basis and justification for enforcing the “Dhimmi laws.” These supposedly guaranteed fair treatment of non-Muslims, actually guaranteed that they would always be singled out in society as second class citizens, and were an invitation to persecution by unscrupulous rulers. The creation of this pact myth allowed rulers to claim that Jews and Christians had “violated the pact” if they dared to dress like Muslims or speak like Muslims, or worship too close to Muslims or violate any other provision of the “pact.” It was also used to justify suppression of Synagogues and Churches that were built or renovated after the Muslim conquest. Whenever Muslim rulers clamped down on non-Muslims and whenever anti-Semites and anti-Christian elements wanted to raise the ire of the masses against the non-Muslims, they referred to this “pact.” For example, the 1354 Decree against the Dhimmi of Al Malik al Salih refers specifically to the pact of Umar and must have had in mind a document similar to the one below, since it mentions wearing of the Zunar and other provisions that noted in this document.

A different and more lenient version of the pact is given as the Covenant of Umar. That version is more specific in its assertion that the pact was given in Jerusalem and really reads as though it was given by Umar to the Jews and Christians of Jerusalem. However, that is not the pact that was referred to in later restatements of the Dhimmi laws.

READ ENTIRETY to view the pact (Broken, useless & hijacked links removed – The pact of Umar – 800? Intro by Ami Isseroff; Zionism-Israel.com; 1/9/10)

Now I realized I utilized a lot of page space on this Pact of Umar but I want readers to understand that once Christians were conquered by Muslim armies they did not have a quaint existence as a vanquished people. Indeed many Eastern Rite Christians initially welcomed Muslim conquest due to the theological differences from the then ruling Byzantines who had made the Eastern Orthodox of the Greek Eastern rite the State Church.

I thought about trying to list the Eastern Rite Churches that separate from the Greek-Eastern Orthodox Rite but I have discovered that may be a bit daunting since after Muslim conquest these Churches have continued to evolve theologically with on and off again unions and disunions amongst themselves which included some associations with the Roman Catholic rite along the way right up to the present day.

As far as Islam goes and current events the various Assyrian Churches of present day Iraq and Syria is one region, the Lebanese Maronite Church and the Coptic Church which represents 10% of the Egyptian population have been making the news of Muslim persecution lately. Pakistan’s Christian minority has also been affected by Muslim persecution as well but have not made the news much in the USA.

The IDC Summit that took place in Washington DC was concerned largely of the persecution and genocide taking place under ISIS controlled portions of Iraq and Syria. If you want to sort out some these Eastern Rite churches affected on your own you can wade through the Wikipedia articles I found here:

Eastern Christianity

Assyrian Church of the East

Full communion

The sad thing of all these Churches is that they have lived under the second class status of effective dhimmitude being a people subject to the same propaganda the Muslim majority has received. That propaganda especially since the rise of Islamic reform movements pointing back to the days of purist Islam and the glory days of Muslim domination under Islamic Conquests and the Ottoman Turks at the end of WWI. Mustapha Kemal decided to save everything Turkish by reasserting what was left of the Ottoman domains by establishing the Republic of Turkey abolishing the Ottoman Sultanate and the last Caliphate. Mustapha Kemal changed his Ottoman name to Ataturk to finish this Turkishfication resulted in the Armenian Christian genocide to get rid of the large Armenian minority. Also relatively new Greek independence led to a post WWI attempt to retake ancient Greek locations of Anatolia that included Istanbul which was the Islamized ancient Greek Capital city of Constantinople. Ataturk managed to withstand Greek reunification and in the process gave the Greek indigenous population the violent boot from Anatolia which was also a bit of a genocide.

This post WWI effort to bring Constantinople back under Christian governance by the then nascent Greek nation may have been a lost opportunity to introduce Jihad conquered Christian lands to Western-style forms of governance with an emphasis on Christian Liberty and Civil Rights. The thing is war-weary Europe began to perceive a colonialist mentality might be easier to utilize the extraction of oil reserves the winning powers of WWI could exploit from Muslim dominated oil enriched lands.

If one includes present day Iran as part of the crude oil discovery in the Muslim Middle East then 1903 is the beginning. The largest Middle Eastern oil was first discovered in March 1938 in Saudi Arabia. Oil became the new gold that ran geopolitics. Military powers used their clout to develop the oil fields and the relatively new Arab nations largely carved into existence by WWI and WWII victors became the capital to exploit oil wealth. The Muslim nations soon woke up to their political clout based on oil rather than military weaponry. After two World Wars between military powers largely of Western origin, Muslim nations reaped the benefits of Capitalism rather than the threat of Western military imperialism. As long as weaponized innovations continues from Western powers and now Asian military development in China and India with Japan perhaps compelled to re-militarize, frankly the Capitalist arm of oil control among Muslim nations will eventually be determined by military might again. But that is another essay. (An essay on Middle Eastern oil development)

The seeds of the defeat of WWI inspired European Jews to repopulate the Holy Land of which the new League of Nations awarded the Brits with the Palestine Mandate intended to be developed as a Jewish Homeland. Regardless of Muslim and Arab apologist propaganda to the contrary, Jews immigrating to their original Holy Land revitalized a barren land ignored by Ottomans. (See HERE and HERE) In reality Jews had been immigrating to the Holy Land for some time even while under Ottoman control. The Brits began to view the Jewish Homeland issue as a detriment to their National Interests when it was realized the emerging independent Middle Eastern lands were to be dominated by Muslim Arabs which had loads of petroleum. So the Brits began secret efforts to a Greater Syria to be led by Hashemites to secure an oil supply. The Jewish presence in formerly Muslim conquered land is seen by Muslims as an affront to Islamic Supremacism. Couple Islamic Supremacism with the Antisemitism spreading through Europe which began to infiltrate Muslim nations as well. Also the Christians living in Muslim lands had become totally dhimmified to supporting all causes Islamic even if it was and is to the Christian communities’ own detriment.

In the earliest days of Christianity after the Apostolic days, the Patristic Fathers which are primarily the great theologians – that lived in Christian dominated Middle Eastern areas – taught Jew-hatred as much as Christology:

Tertullian is influential since he writes a tract with the title Adversos Judaeos, which would become the name of the entire tradition, the so-called Adversos Judaeos tradition. This contained of an allegorical anti-Jewish exposition of Old Testament texts. In this tradition the Old Testament promises pertain to Christians, whereas judgements (sic) pertain to Jews. Tertullian repeats (from earlier Fathers) that circumcision is a mark so that they may be punished, referring to texts like Is 1:2, 4, 7, 15; they will not enter into Jerusalem (Tert. Adv. Jud. 3). Cyprian’s influence mainly lies in his extensive list of Scriptural arguments against the Jews, the so-called Testimonia, gaining great influence in the theology of the coming centuries. Later, the eastern church fathers also wrote strongly Anti-Jewish tracts. Gregory of Nyssa: “God-murderers, prophet-murderers, fighters against God, God-haters, they who transgress the Law, they who fights grace, they who have another faith than the fathers, advocates of the devil, brood of vipers, slanderers , those who have darkened minds, the leaven of the Pharisees, the sunedrion of the devil, Destroyers, thouroughly (sic) evil ones, the stoners, the haters of good. ”(Greg. Nyss. Or. in Christi Resurrect. 5). The beloved John Chrysostom is vehement in his assault against Jews.” (see his eight Orations against the Jews). Admittedly, this could be qualified even if not possible to make undone by saying that he in later texts he can acknowledge that God has not rejected his people (Homilies on Romans 18). In sum, these few examples show that this is no small problem in Patristic theology. (Anti-Jewish structures in Patristic theology; By Anders Gerdmar; AndersGerdmar.com; 10/28/09)

The Patristic Fathers are a source of rich theology for the Episcopate Churches (e.g. Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox) that place a high stock on tradition more than Scriptures. Unfortunately these early Church Fathers became entrenched in an unscriptural blame game that the Jews in entirety are Christ-killers due to the Crucifixion. As I already mentioned the sinless man portion of Christ needed to die as a sacrifice of blood to remit and expiate the price needed for humanity’s Redemption. The reality was that the Jewish ruling class that empowered the Temple Sanhedrin were jealous and fearful of losing their entrusted status provided by Roman conquering authority. Due to that fear of status loss, Jesus was perceived as a person that would rock the boat by inspiring Jewish rebellion against Roman authority. Thus the Sanhedrin leadership convinced Pontius Pilate that Jesus represented that rebellious spark and under threat of the Sanhedrin squealing to the megalomaniac Caesar of the day authorized Jesus’ humiliating Crucifixion. Or at least so the Holy Word of God portrays in the four Gospels.

The leading Clergyman of Christian Eastern Rite Churches in the 21st century are alarmingly in the same position as the Sanhedrin in Christ’s pre-Resurrection days right now in today’s age. The primary difference being in Christ’s day the Sanhedrin had an influence of a Jewish majority in Judea. Due to a millennia of Jihad the former Christian majority of the Middle East has been reduced to the minority under even worse restrictions under Islamic Sharia than the majority Jews experienced under Roman law and Roman military enforcement. The Roman solution for Jews that desired self-determination in their own homeland was extermination and eviction of the majority. The Jihad Islamic solution to reduce a Christian majority to a minority was convert, live under a humiliated status or die.

The Christians that didn’t convert to Islam immediately did so after centuries of humiliation removed memories of the previous generations of faithful Christians eventually reducing the faithful to a minority. Becoming a minority was not an overnight phenomena.

Here are excerpts that should give you an inkling of how Jihad Islamized and Arabized the formerly Christian majority of the Middle East and North Africa:

Most of what follows are quotations that illustrate the plight of Eastern Christianity since the Islamic conquests of the Eastern and Southern parts of the Mediterranean world.  … While modern Islamic scholars have endeavored to re-define jihad, claiming that it is primarily a struggle with self, Jacques Ellul points out that history proves otherwise.

“In Islam, however, jihad is a religious obligation. It forms part of the duties that the believer must fulfill. It is Islam’s normal path to expansion.” P. 18, 19

“Hence, the second important specific characteristic is that the jihad is an institution, and not an event, that is to say it is part of the normal functioning of the Muslim world. The conquered populations change status (they become dhimmis), and the shari’a tends to be put into effect integrally, overthrowing the former law of the country. The conquered territories do not simply change owners. Rather they are brought into a binding collective (religious) ideology — with the exception of the dhimmi condition — and are controlled by a highly perfected administrative machinery.” P. 19

“The religious obligation to fight the Christians required a permanent state of war which justified the organization of seasonal raids (ghazwa)’They sometimes consisted of short pillaging incursions to collect booty, steal livestock, and enslave the villagers. Other campaigns, led by the caliph in person, called for considerable military preparations. Provinces were ravaged and burned down, towns pillaged and destroyed, inhabitants massacred or deported.” P. 48

“Under the Umayyads, the Peoples of the Book, particularly the Christians, represented the large majority of the Islamic states’ subjects and —with the Zoroastrians — its principal taxpayers. This economic strength also constituted a political power that had to be controlled, since revolts would have paralyzed the Arab army, which was accumulating booty and slaves for the caliph in the dar al-harb.” P. 69

“The two pillars of the nascent Islamic state in the conquered lands were the army — formed by Arab tribes and the slaves taken as spoils of war — and the conquered masses: tributaries, slaves, freed men, and converts, a workforce which fed the economic sector. The third pillar — juridical power — was being elaborated. It would undertake to balance and rectify the enormous demographic disparity between the conquered Peoples of the Book and the Muslims. – the legal institution would formulate a collection of laws which gradually whittled down the rights of the dhimmis and confined them to a cramped condition, by transferring to the umma all the key positions that the dhimmis had formerly held.” Pp. 69, 70

“Does the expression ‘protected religious minorities’ or ‘tolerated religious minorities’ adequately describe the dhimmi peoples?

“In the lands conquered by jihad the Peoples of the Book formed majorities, among whom the Arabs of the first wave of Islamization and the Turks of the second wave were in the minority. Presumably the complex and little-known processes that transformed those majorities into minorities covered some three or four centuries for each wave of Islamization. By contracting it, the expression ‘religious minorities’ reverses a chronological process that had spread over centuries, whose result — the minority condition — is taken as its starting point.”

“Decimated by razzias in the countryside, they sought refuge in the towns which they developed and embellished. Branded with opprobrium, the conquerors still chose to drag them from region to region in order to revive ravaged lands and restore ruined towns. Once again, they built, again they worked. Once again they were driven out, again pillaged and ransomed. And as they dwindled, drained of their blood and spirit, civilization itself disappeared, decadence stagnated, barbarism reigned over lands which, previously, when they were theirs, were lands of civilization, of crops and of plenty.” P. 265

“The elites who fled to Europe took their cultural baggage with them, their scholarship, and their knowledge of the classics of antiquity. Therefore, in the Christian lands of refuge — Spain, Provence, Sicily, Italy — cultural centers developed where Christians and Jews from Islamized lands taught to the young Europe the knowledge of the old pre-Islamic Orient, formerly translated into Arabic by their ancestors.” P. 265

The brainwashed Eastern Rite Christians that have lived for about a millennia under this kind of Islamic Supremacist indoctrination have caused these people who cling to what tradition they can inherent in Patristic writings combined with Islamic theology on the People of the Book (Jews and Christians), it is not surprising that Eastern Rite Christians have embraced the same Antisemitism that is ingrained into Muslims via their Quran, Hadith, Sira and Sunna. (This essay on the shrinking of Middle Eastern Christianity may be of interest: The Forgotten Christian World)

This explains but does not excuse the hostility of Arab Christians booing Senator Ted Cruz off the stage at the September 10 In Defense of Christians summit held in Washington DC. I wasn’t surprised in the glee of Muslim apologists cheering the IDC Arab Christians. I won’t be surprised if Leftists that believe Israel is occupying land that should be a Palestinian State cheered on the IDC Arab Christians. I was surprised at some of the criticism delivered by stalwart Conservatives who whined Senator Cruz undermined the purpose of the IDC summit for self-promoting political reasons among pro-Israel supporters.

Frankly I don’t know if Senator Cruz realized that a chunk of Arab Christians representing Middle Eastern Christians being exterminated by ISIS were there. I don’t know if Senator Cruz misjudged a Support-Israel message meant to enlist Israeli help against the Christian genocide. I don’t know if Senator Cruz was aware that antisemitic Middle Eastern Christians were in the audience and it disgusted him as a supporter of Israel.

AND frankly I don’t care about all those scenarios. Dear God in Heaven the same Muslims exterminating Christians want to do the same thing to Jews while wiping Israel off the map. Arab Christians need to get over the Christ-killer malarkey and abandon any belief in antisemitic Conspiracy Theories either developed by Jew-hating Muslims or adopted from pre-WWII European Jew-hatred Conspiracy Theories that blame Jews for all the woes of the globe and the idiocy of Jewish world domination.

Jews left to their own devices are pretty much an insular group. The Jewish desire is to live in peace in their own God-Promised homeland (religious) or in secular land free from Jew-hatred (non-religious). Whether religious or secular the land today an independent and free Jewish State called Israel was well placed for that situation. The Ottoman Turks and the Arab Notables that administered the Levant before 1917 had allowed the area to be stripped of effective resource productivity forcing near slave conditions upon serf like agrarian Arab farmers to struggle to produce crops in which a mere survival portion was given back. In coming Jewish immigrants brought Western technological knowledge of agrarian techniques that revitalized the land agriculturally. The revitalized land needed laborers that the Jews were not able yet to provide opening the door for more Arab Muslims to emigrate to labor (under better circumstances I might add then provided by Arab Notables) for life sustaining work.

The Arab speaking Christians that were in the Levant were primarily urban dwellers still under the Christ-killer mentality. As more Jewish immigrants to the Levant under Turkish authority grew harmonious Jewish-Muslim relations existed until the power-wealth minded Arab Notables began to realize Jewish competition might affect their bottom line economically. Hence the Notables and Muslim Clerics began planting seeds of Quranic Islamic Supremacism into the Laborer Muslims producing a lifestyle fear of the old Jewish Conspiracy Theories. Dhimmified Arab Christians bought into this fear mongering joining Muslim Arabs in complaining about the increasing Jewish immigration to the Jewish Homeland.

Here are a few of the Israel-hating Christian Clergyman that attended the IDC summit that were disgusted with Senator Cruz’s pro-Israel key note speech:

Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rai – Lebanon

Antioch Church patriarch Gregory III LahamMelkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch Syria

Syriac Orthodox Church Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II

Patriarch John X (Yazigi)

[JRH Observation: I haven’t found any real associations with Israel-hatred with Patriarch John X. Which means he probably cares more for his flock than Jewish stereotypes, but still he has associated Syrian dictator and Jew-hater President Bashar al-Assad. The simple answer could be al-Assad has been friendly to Syrian Christians. However, al-Assad has not been so friendly to Christians outside of Syria such as in the days of Syrian domination of Lebanon.]

Syriac Catholic Patriarch Ignatius Joseph III Younan – Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch Syria

“The Free Beacon notes that other IDC summit speakers, including Antioch Church leader John X (Yazigi) and Syriac Catholic Patriarch Ignatius Joseph III Younan, have all persistently defended the Assad regime.

A report from CNEWA in May of 2013 cited Younan’s statement that events in Syria were the result of Western nations carrying out a geopolitical strategy “to split Syria and other countries” in the Middle East.

“It’s not a question of promoting democracy or pluralism as the West wants us to understand of its policies,” Younan said. “This is a lie, this is hypocrisy.”

Younan added that Western nations “bear responsibility for what is happening in Syria,” and that his and other leaders’ warnings about the violence in the region leading to chaos to countries such as the United States “chose not to believe that.” (‘IN DEFENSE OF CHRISTIANS’ SUMMIT FEATURES SUPPORTERS OF HEZBOLLAH; By DR. SUSAN BERRY; Breitbart.com; 9/11/14)

Aram I Keshishian, Catholicos of the Great House of Ceilicia of the Armenian Apostolic Church – Lebanon

The Armenian Orthodox Catholicos of the House of Cilicia called Monday for a serious effort to put an end to Israel’s “criminal practices” against the Palestinians.

In a statement made on his return to Beirut from Damascus, where he participated in an annual religious gathering, Aram I Keshishian also called for dialogue and negotiations between all parties concerned in the Middle East conflict.

“(This is) the only way to achieve a just, comprehensive and permanent peace,” he said, stressing the need for the Palestinians to gain their “full and legitimate rights, by the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

Keshishian questioned why the international community especially the UN and the United States “overlooked the Israeli aggressive policy in the Middle East that has dissipated all hopes for achieving peace.” (
Armenian Orthodox prelate flays Israeli ‘criminality’; from Daily Star Lebanon; 3/12/02)

[JRH Observation: Aram I comments on Israel a little over a decade ago reflect the dhimmi attitude toward Jews rather than the Biblical view of a Promised Land to the descendants of Abraham through the Old Testament child of Promise Isaac. This is rather than the Quranic lie that Abraham’s promise was from Allah pertaining to Ishmael.]

Bishop Angaelos, General Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria – Egypt

[JRH Observation: Bishop Angaelos as Patriarch John X (Yazigi) also, seems to be more concerned about his flock but the Bishop’s criticism of Senator Cruz makes me suspicious he has a bit of Antisemitism running through him. Below is a quote trying to be an apologist for those who booed Senator Cruz’s Pro-Israel stand at an anti-Christian genocide being perpetuated by ISIS IDC summit.]

As mentioned in my previous statement of 10 September 2014, “Christians, along with those who live by faith, morals, and ethics, and the international community, must collaborate to address this threat against not only innocent civilians, but our way of life as we know it today.” Having spoken at this IDC Summit on the plight of Christians in the Middle East, and particularly in Iraq and Syria, I take personal exception to sweeping statements made about those in attendance as espousing “bigotry and hatred…against Jews and Israel”. In light of the current very real challenges, this is not a time for such divisive and inflammatory language that demonises communities and causes rifts between them when their collaboration is most needed.

As servants of the people, clergy, politicians or otherwise, we are accountable and responsible as representatives, stewards and reconcilers to deal at the most difficult of times and circumstances with the most peaceful means to overcome apparent misunderstanding and conflict. (Comment on the recent IDC Gala dinner by His Grace Bishop Angaelos, General Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the United Kingdom; Posted by The Coptic Orthodox Church Centre; The Coptic Orthodox Church UK; 9/12/14 16:14)

There is a culture of Antisemitism among Middle Eastern Christians. It is inexcusable. Nonetheless the genocide perpetrated on behalf of Islamic Supremacism is as reprehensible as Hitler’s genocide perpetrated against the Jews in the Holocaust of WWII. The sad thing is in today’s Middle East Hitler’s genocide is seen as a heroic event among Muslims and I have no doubt due to the culture also among Middle Eastern Christians. Indeed Hitler’s Mein Kampf in an Arabic translation is a best seller even today.

In a final word on Senator Cruz at the IDC Summit let’s look at this guy’s obvious amateur news editorial praising the Senator for his stand with Israel and in my opinion showing that a remarkable chunk of Christianity are still Jew-haters.

VIDEO: Ted Cruz Walks Out of In Defense of Christians Gala Event After Being Booed! IDC News Commentary

In Depth Commentary & highlights on Ted Cruz walking out of the In Defense of Christians annual gala event 2014. Includes a clip from the event @ 3.5 minutes in.

FITR News is a Fork In The Road Media Production. We encourage patriots to make a right at the fork in the road.

This first video is our maiden voyage and was uploaded on September 11th of 2014.

The Facebook post of Senator Ted Cruz of the state of Texas of the United States of America, is as follows: “Tonight in Washington should have been a night of unity as we came together for the inaugural event for a group that calls itself ‘In Defense of Christians.’ Instead, it unfortunately deteriorated into a shameful display of bigotry and hatred.

When I spoke in strong support of Israel and the Jewish people, who are being persecuted and murdered by the same vicious terrorists who are also slaughtering Christians, many Christians in the audience applauded. But, sadly, a vocal and angry minority of attendees at the conference tried to shout down my expression of solidarity with Israel.

They cannot shout down the truth. And we should not shy away from expressing the truth, even in the face of – especially in the face of – ignorance and bigotry.

I told the attendees that those who hate Israel also hate America, that those who hate Jews also hate Christians, and that anyone who hates Israel and the Jewish people is not following the teachings of Christ.

These statements were met with angry boos. I went on to tell the crowd that Christians in the Middle East have no better friend than Israel. That Christians can practice their faith free of persecution in Israel. And that ISIS, al Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah, along with their state sponsors in Syria and Iran, are all part of the same cancer, murdering Christians and Jews alike. Hate is hate, and murder is murder.

I came to this event tonight to help shine a light on the tragic persecution and slaughter of Christians by ISIS and Islamic radicals throughout the Middle East. American leaders have been far too silent as to this horrific evil.

But bigotry and hatred have no place in this discussion. Anti-Semitism is a corrosive evil, and it reared its ugly head tonight.

After just a few minutes, I had no choice. I told them that if you will not stand with Israel, if you will not stand with the Jews, then I will not stand with you. And then I walked off the stage.”

The IDC (In Defense of Christians) website was down at the time of the editing of this YouTube video, due to high traffic. When accessible it can be found at http://www.indefenseofchristians.org

Here is their official statement regarding this situation of September 10th: “Statement of IDC President following disruption at IDC Gala Dinner

In Defense of Christians President Toufic Baaklini issued the following statement in response to a disruption at the Inaugural Summit Gala Dinner: “As Cardinal Rai so eloquently put it to the attendees of the In Defense of Christians’ inaugural Summit gala dinner: ‘At every wedding, there are a few problems.’ In this case, a few politically motivated opportunists chose to divide a room that for more than 48 hours sought unity in opposing the shared threat of genocide, faced not only by our Christian brothers and sisters, but our Jewish brothers and sisters and people of all other faiths and all people of good will.

“Tonight’s injection of politics when the focus should have been on unity and faith, momentarily played into the hands of a few who do not adhere to IDC’s principles. They were made no longer welcome.

“When we set out to form In Defense of Christians, many in the foreign policy and faith-based communities said such an effort was impossible. That it would be too difficult to bring such a diverse group of Christian sects, religious and human rights organizations together to draw attention not only to the plight of the deteriorating situation facing our Christians brothers and sisters, but also to the plight of all people of faith, in the Middle East who are suffering.

“For more than 48 hours, our initial IDC conference was successfully bridging divides of faith, language, geography and politics. It has not been easy, and not without challenges. Tonight’s events make clearer than ever, that In Defense of Christians is desperately needed in a world that remains divided to the point where even the most fundamental value of life and human dignity are cast aside.

“We remain undaunted and focused on achieving our goals.”

Palestinians aren’t Arab.

Palestinians aren’t Arab. Genetic testing shows they’re an amalgamated people who are culturally Arab. They were there before the British Mandate, otherwise there would have been no existing city of Jerusalem prior to the Mandate. Your writing of the history makes it seem as though no one lived in the current land of Israel prior to that point. Clearly that is not the case.

I appreciate your statement about the ethnicity of the people that call themselves Palestinians; nonetheless these people consider themselves as Arab and as you pointed out their culture is Arabic. Hence I will continue to call them “Arabs who call themselves Palestinians”.

Raginman of course there was a majority Muslim population prior to the existence of the Jewish State, BUT the population of indigenous Muslims descended from generations of centuries was very small. Only as Western technology emptied swamps and properly made the land fit for agriculture then did the Muslim population grow larger. Note the Western technology was largely initiated by Jewish immigrants from Europe willing to do the hard work that the land looked profitable for Muslims to emigrate from other Muslim regions as a land of opportunity. Proximity and Islamic Supremacism made Muslim culturally Arab people immigrate faster to the Holy Land than the Jews were able to their own Homeland.

The Myth of Jewish “Colonialism”: Demographics and Development in Palestine

By David Wollenberg

Spring 2001Issue 1

Harvard Israel Review

A Student Publication on Israeli History, Politics and History

One of the most powerful and widespread arguments against Zionism and the State of Israel has been the claim that Jewish settlement in Palestine led directly to the displacement and exploitation of the land’s long-established Arab population. In 1939, on the eve of the Holocaust and at the height of British attempts to divide the region into separate Arab and Jewish states, Jamal Husayni, spokesman for the effective government of Palestinian Arabs, forcefully raised this very argument against the Jewish national home:

Is it in any way just, that the Arabs, who have lived on this land uninterruptedly for 1300 years, and whose lives are rooted in its soil—should be dispossessed by force, should be pushed aside, and should be blackmailed to enable the Zionist Jews to fashion a Jewish National Home on this land? That’s the problem….1

This was also the claim made by five Arab states to justify war against the State of Israel in 1948, just one day after it had declared its independence. According to this view, Jews had been absent from the land of Israel for too long to claim their right to return. In their absence, another group of people had come to occupy the land, and thus the Zionist movement could succeed only at this people’s expense. The West, embarrassed by the horrors of the Holocaust, had founded the State of Israel to clear its conscience, and the Arab residents of Palestine were forced to pay the price. The creation of the Jewish State was thus an outrage, so the argument goes, because the very settlement of the land by Jews was illegitimate.

Yet this argument rests on an inaccurate description of the country’s history, namely, a mischaracterization of the demographics of Palestine before 1948. For a number of reasons, both political and environmental, the Arab population of Palestine had been in a constant state of flux for much of the region’s history. There was of course a small Arab population in Palestine that could trace its roots back for centuries. But overall, the Arab population, which had remained dormant for centuries, began to blossom only after the beginning of Jewish immigration and the subsequent improvements in economic conditions, infrastructure, and agricultural techniques. The idea of “uninterrupted settlement…rooted in its soil,” is thus inconsistent with history. It was put forward primarily in an attempt to delegitimize Jewish immigration.

This essay will explore the various reasons for the Arab population shifts over time, focusing mainly on the first half of the twentieth century. Such an examination demonstrates that Jewish settlement in Palestine did not amount to the sudden disruption that Husayni and others claim, since there was no continuous national history or uniform population to disrupt. It also suggests that Jewish settlement was in many ways beneficial to the land and all of its inhabitants. In this light, it is clear that the two main tenets of the myth of Jewish “colonialism”—that Zionism uprooted a long-established nation and led to its uniform exploitation—are ideologically motivated distortions.

Arab Demographics Prior to British Governance: Dramatic Underpopulation

From the period of the Crusades to the beginning of modern times, the population of Palestine remained at a near constant level.2This apparent stability is significant, as populations naturally tend to increase over time. It is estimated that there were 205,000 people living in Palestine in the mid 1500s.3By 1800, the population had only grown to 275,000, reflecting about a thousandth of a percent of average growth a year.4By 1890, still before any significant Jewish immigration, the population had made a slightly larger jump, to 532,000.5But even with this increase, the nineteenth century growth rate was still a small 0.7% per year.6By comparison, in the 1940s the Muslim growth rate in the Middle East was closer to 3.07%.7

A number of factors account for this dramatic underpopulation, one of which is environmental. Many people fled the area as early as the fourteenth century as a result of the Black Plague. Starting shortly thereafter, many areas became swamp-infested and malarial, especially in the northern valleys. There is much evidence to suggest that, by the mid-nineteenth century, the region had become nearly uninhabitable. Around this time, German Templars tried to settle the Kinrot Valley, where Jesus had lived, but were forced to leave due to the prevalence of malaria.8Jewish settlers in the 1880s attempted to inhabit the Hula valley, but in some places child mortality rates were nearly 100% because of disease.9The Talmud remarks, “If the Garden of Eden is in the Land of Israel, Beit-Shean is its gateway.”10But when the scholar H.B. Tristram visited the area in the 1860s, traveling in the footsteps of Jesus, he claimed, “We saw not a tree….It is scarcely conceivable how any human beings can inhabit such sites; but such is the contrast, nowhere more settling than here, between ancient civilization and modern degradation.”11 Mark Twain was disillusioned by his trip to the Holy Land. He wrote, “Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes…desolate and unlovely…it is dreamland.”12Even by 1931, after many early Zionist efforts to clear the land, only a third of the whole region was cultivable.13No doubt, the lack of fertile land and presence of disease contributed to the comparatively limited population growth.

The higher growth rate of the nineteenth century (relative to the previous rates) must be attributed to a different set of conditions, namely major demographic shifts stemming from emigration and immigration. In 1831, Muhammad Ali of Egypt invaded the region to obtain raw materials and a market for his country’s industrializing economy.14As a result of the violence, many fellaheen, or farmers, fled Palestine to neighboring regions. Yet these emigres were soon replaced by a new wave of farmers from Egypt seeking to escape their country’s military draft.15According to the French scholar M. Sabry, the Egyptian governor Ibrahim Pasha brought over six thousand people to settle empty stretches of land in Palestine.16Although his leadership brought a greater sense of law and order to the land than ever before, the conquest precipitated a half-century of intertribal warfare, especially among the Bedouin.17The British decided that this instability threatened their economic interests in the region and forced Ibrahim to retreat to Egypt.18The net result of this upheaval was a positive but minor population increase. It would not be until the end of the century that modernizing developments would cause major demographic changes.

British Control: Population Shifts and the Beginnings of Growth

With British control during the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries came greater material stability and economic growth. As a result of the construction of railroad lines that led to the sea, the population of Haifa tripled and that of Jaffa more than doubled from 1880 to 1910.19But while the population shifted toward these areas, the overall growth rates for the country stayed low. According to British investigations, there were 689,275 persons in Palestine in 1915, about 590,000 of whom were Arab.20 Given a population in 1890 of 532,000 (473,000 Arab), this still represents only a 0.8% per year growth rate.

Soon afterwards, during World War I, the Ottomans tried to muster troops from the region, prompting many of the upper classes to flee. It appears that the war prompted a massive flight, immediately followed by a huge influx. According to contemporary surveys, the Arab population declined by 35,000 during the years 1915 to 1919. While many Arabs may have fled to escape the draft, others were expelled by force. To defend against the British, the Ottomans, still nominally in control, expelled both Jews and Arabs from cities across the coast on the assumption that their nationalistic intentions could lead them to sympathize with the British invaders. This effort was massive: twenty-eight thousand Arabs were forced out of Gaza alone.21By 1922, however, just three years later, the Arab population had increased by 80,000 above the 1919 level.22After the War had ended and Britain had taken formal control of the area (with the collapse of the Ottoman Empire), Arab population rates recovered quickly and significantly. Many Arabs took advantage of the improved economic conditions that resulted from British administration; and by 1922, the population of Haifa—which had declined by 30% from 1915 to 1917 due to Ottoman expulsions23—had become greater than it was before the war.24 The Zionists, also eager to take advantage of this economic growth, had hoped that the British government, the country’s largest employer, would hire Jews in construction. But the British preferred cheaper foreign labor; and in the period leading up to 1922 they employed fifteen thousand foreigners (mostly from Egypt and Syria) and only five hundred Jews.25Despite this low employment rate, however, the Jewish population continued to grow through immigration. The increasing numbers of these two populations would soon lead to a significant clash.

Approaching 1948: Economic Growth and the Population Burst

After years of relative stagnation, the few decades leading up to 1948 saw significant growth in both Arab and Jewish populations. Had the Arab population remained at its pre-WWI growth rate (0.8%) after 1922, one would have expected a population of approximately 785,000 by 1947. But there were in fact between 1.2 and 1.3 million Arabs in all of Palestine by 1947.26What could have caused this sudden burst?

To investigate possible causes, it is important to examine where in the country the growth took place. Non-Jewish population growth rates were highest within modern-day sovereign Israel and in the West Bank and Gaza Strip regions. These rates cannot be explained by higher birth rates alone.

One major factor accounting for the unexpected growth was the potential for upward mobility that existed in the western cities. The wages of western cities were more attractive, no doubt bringing many people from surrounding areas. Port cities also offered greater employment opportunities, which helps explain the fact that there was a dramatic influx into Haifa and Jaffa relative to cities like Beit-Shean and Jerusalem.

Another major reason for the population explosion was the revolution that took place in farming and thus in the ecosystem generally. Agriculture had been the main source of income of 90% of Muslims in 1931.29With the increase in Jewish immigration during this period, Arab farmers began to pressure the British to stop the Jewish influx, arguing that the land could not sustain any more inhabitants. The result was the Passfield White Paper of 1930, which claimed:

It can now be definitely stated that at the present time and with the present methods of Arab cultivation there remains no margin of land available for agricultural settlement by new immigrants, with the exception of such undeveloped land as the various Jewish agencies hold in reserve.30

Although this document would be repudiated only a year later, it reflects the widespread and strongly-held belief that the land’s resources could not be shared. Yet this belief was based on the assumption that the state of agriculture could not improve, an assumption that experience would soon prove false.

One major reason for this improvement was swamp drainage. The project, largely conceived and carried out by Jewish immigrants with some British help, was enormous in magnitude. It provided dramatic health benefits in addition to large increases in the amount of arable land.

Another development in farming took the form of improved agricultural techniques. Formerly, according to historian Kenneth Stein, “the cultivated land was not very fertile or sufficiently irrigated. The failure or inability to use modern agricultural techniques such as manuring and mechanization kept yields to a minimum. Crop rotation was rarely practiced.”32This would all change in a very short time.

Yet another reason for improvement was the growth of citriculture, the most profitable form of agriculture in the country.33From 1931 to 1937, land used for citriculture increased by almost 200%, with total citrus output rising 380%. During the same period, total wheat cultivation remained near constant, dropping about 4% in total area, but tripling in output. Arab agricultural techniques improved in other ways as well, resulting in increased production of produce, tobacco, watermelons, cattle, and fowl. With new farming techniques and more cultivable land, the naturally sustainable population increased exponentially.

Another Piece of the Puzzle: Property Ownership

One of the major obstacles faced by Jewish immigrants who tried to purchase land prior to 1948 was the unique system of property ownership established in much of the country. In 1932, 117,869 dunam of land was held by absentee landowners. In most cases, tenant farmers worked the land, creating a dilemma for land purchasers.34 Even after buying the land from the “real” owner, the tenant farmers would generally remain in place. In 1927, the British passed a law preventing the transfer of land without first securing new land for the tenant farmer or making a cash settlement.35Yet this had already been the policy of the Jewish Agency, which had explicitly sought to avoid controversy in its land purchases. The Shaw Commission reported:

We think that the Jewish Companies are not open to any criticism in respect of these transactions. In paying compensation, as they undoubtedly did, to many of the cultivators of land which they purchased in the Plain of Esdraelon [Jezreel Valley] those companies were making a payment which at the time of the transactions the law of Palestine did not require. Moreover, they were acting with the knowledge of the Government.36

Despite this careful attention to the tenant farmers’ reimbursement, Arab fellaheen often claimed that Jews had given them little or no compensation. In response, the British launched investigations into over 3000 claims, of which about 2500 were ultimately rejected.37For the 600 or so claims that were accepted, the Development Department was required to provide 60 dunam of irrigable land or a cash settlement that would presumably allow the farmer to move to a city.38 The immigration of Jews to Palestine was thus done both legally and ethically.

But the local Arab elite’s complaints about Jewish immigration were not about legality anyway. These leaders claimed that the presence of outsiders would destroy the Arab nature of the country, a claim that can still be heard among Palestinians and pro-Palestinian advocates today. Ironically, however, many of the strongest opponents of Jewish land purchases were also the people who profited most from them. A brief list of Arab leaders who sold land to Jews includes Fahmi el-Husayni, mayor of Gaza; Ragheb Nashashibi, mayor of Jerusalem and founder of the “National Defense Party”; Mussa el-‘Alami, Government Advocate of the Palestine Government and a member of the Arab Higher Committee; As’ad el-Shuqairi, father of Ahmed Shuqairi, the first chairman of the P.L.O.; and Jamal el-Husayni, who is quoted at the beginning of this essay.39 Of course, the Arab leadership attempted to suppress this information, but it was brought to public attention by Lewis French, the first director of the British Mandatory Government’s Department of Development.40The news of the Arab leadership’s hypocrisy eventually led to the collapse of the Arab Executive (the governing Arab body in the Mandate) in the early 1930s. It would not be until 1936 that another body of political leadership would come to exist, in the form of the Arab Higher Committee.41

Husayni’s claim of 1300 years of uninterrupted Arab presence in Palestine is clearly a convenient simplification. Any statements about the demographics of Palestine before 1948 must recognize the country’s dynamic history. The first half of the twentieth century was a period of sweeping changes for the land and all the people living on it—Arab and Jew. After remaining nearly stagnant for centuries, the population exploded in modern times due to improved infrastructure, agriculture, and immigration, both Jewish and Arab. As a result, from 1890 to 1947, in less than sixty years, the population grew from 532,000 to 1,845,560.42The Arab population of Palestine grew more from 1922 to 1947 than it had over the previous 400 years. But the population shift that would occur over the following three years, as a result of the U.N. partition plan and the Arab-Israeli war, would be so momentous that it almost makes this prior data seem irrelevant. Each side blames the other for the consequences of the war, including some who point to the war as proof of “Zionist aggression.” But even Benny Morris, the historian who argued that the Palestinian refugee problem was caused in part by Israeli military actions43points out that “the [refugee] problem was a direct consequence of the war that the Palestinians—and, in their wake, the surrounding Arab states—had launched.”44From the beginning, it was Arab intolerance of the Jewish presence that caused the widespread opposition to Israel, an intolerance that resulted in the war of 1948. Jews, of course, had not chosen arbitrarily to immigrate to this area of the world. Moreover, they did so legally and with positive effects. As evidenced by the massive growth in population, the improvement of agriculture, and increased wages, the claim against Jewish return to Palestine was not pragmatic but ideological. The idea of a Jewish State as such was, from the beginning, anathema to the Arabs living there, and they sought to discredit and defeat it by any means possible. It is in this context that the birth of the Arab-Israeli conflict must be considered.

The Myth of Jewish “Colonialism”: Demographics and Development in Palestine

This issue of the Harvard Israel Review represents the hard work of many students over several months. The individuals who produced this issue share a common concern for the deteriorated political situation and abhorrent violence in the Middle East. They also share the hope that, one-day, Israel, living beside its neighbors in peace and security, will empower Jews around the world by creating communal self-reliance and protecting Jews from anti-Semitism.

The West once viewed the idea of the Jewish State with this same hope. In the aftermath of the Holocaust, when the world learned the extent of the horror visited upon the Jewish people, Jewish empowerment became a moral imperative to those in the West. World leaders and intelligentsia, especially in Europe and America, felt that Jewish self-reliance through the creation of a Jewish State was the only way to prevent another Holocaust.

Today, this hope is a reality and READ THE REST
