Jerusalem Jane/Is Israel heading towards war?

I am on Tom Trento’s email list sent via The United West. The United West has a Counterjihad and pro-Israel agenda. This is the obvious reason I’m on Trento’s email list.

The 3/4/18 Trento email highlights the pro-Israel activist Jane Kiel who Trento calls Jerusalem Jane. I’m using the email as an intro to Kiel’s Jerusalem Post article entitled, “Is Israel heading towards war?” And since I am a Trento fan, I’ll include the rest of the email which advertises a United West sponsored trip to Israel.

At The United West we work with many brave people, all over the world. Few are as brave as Jane “Jerusalem Jane” Kiel, a Christian woman from Denmark who lives in Israel and serves as a “goodwill ambassador” and journalist for Jewish people and for the nation of Israel. In that capacity, Jane has received more death threats from Muslims than any person I know! Yet, undaunted, following her calling from God, Jane keeps moving forward, never complaining, always, Israel first!

Jane is the epitome of “boots-on-the-ground” on the front lines in the middle of geo-politically, critically important, Jerusalem. Jane works very closely with The United West and writes a regular blog for the main newspaper in Israel, The Jerusalem Post.

Is Israel heading towards war?

By JANE KIEL

The Jerusalem Post

magine the scene: More than 3,000 years ago, the big Philistine army was facing the Israelite army. In the midst of that, a huge giant stepped forward. Goliath was frightening and he was mocking the God of Israel. He was calling out the soldiers who would dare to come and fight him, one on one, winner takes it all.

The Israelite army was petrified. Nobody dared to step up and face this giant, so a few days went by while Goliath mocked the Israelites and mocked their God. All of a sudden, a young redheaded shepherd boy stepped forward only carrying his staff that he used to watch his sheep. He walked toward Goliath, who was cursing and mocking him for coming against him, only with a staff and no armor.

We all know the ending of the story, how David in one shot took out this huge giant with his sling and one small rock, and the Israelites won the battle.

Did you ever stop to wonder why David, without any armor, went up to face this huge giant? I think it was because David had faith in the living God of Israel, and nobody dared to step up and stop this bully who was cursing his God, and because of David’s strong faith, that he simply had to act.

Yes, David was brave and courageous, but he acted because of his faith in God and because somebody was mocking his God and his people. He later became King David. He moved the Jewish capital to Jerusalem and fought many wars bringing great victories to Israel!

Today the Jewish nation is still facing giants who are mocking the God of Israel and want to wipe out the Jews and the Israeli army.

The little underdog, Israel is now a thriving nation with the best military in the world, but is still surrounded by Goliaths who have only one goal, and that is to wipe out the Jewish state.

Iran is moving deep into Syria. New satellite images show evidence of a new Iranian military facility at Jabal Ash Sharqi, some 12 kilometers northwest of Damascus. They show two recently constructed hangars that are similar in appearance to Iranian bases in Syria. Reports are saying the new base is operated by Iran’s Quds Force, a branch of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) responsible for operations in foreign countries. When the Iranians say they want to eradicate Israel, you better believe them!

The prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has clearly stated that ”Israel will not allow Iran to set up these military bases in Syria, which makes Israel sittings ducks.” These bases are only 50 km away from the Golan Heights.

Israel has attacked Iranian targets in Syria before and Israel will strike this new military base in Syria. She has no other choice than to defend herself. Chances are big that this could lead to a short and bloody war — a war the IDF is preparing for right now, and it is even saying it has to take out some of the leaders, but there is not really any alternative when your enemies are closing in on you.

King David went into war when it was needed to protect his people, that is exactly what Israel will have to do at this present time.

As I am writing this blog, Benjamin Netanyahu is slated to meet with US President Donald Trump within a few days in America.

There is no question these two world leaders are going to be discussing the deal made with Iran, as Trump did extend a waiver on nuclear sanctions that were imposed on Iran, but he also said it would be the last time he will do so. Trump also ordered allies in Europe and the US congress to work with him to fix “the disastrous flaws” in the 2015 deal or America would pull out. That will only make the situation worse with Iran, but it will be the right thing to do. Bibi and Trump will of course also speak about the whole situation in Syria, and that Israel has no choice but to defend herself.

Pray for wisdom that they will do what is right, and that they will do what is absolutely necessary to protect Israel against not only the mighty aggressor Iran, but also Syria, Hezbollah, Lebanon, Turkey and Russia.  Israel will not be facing only one enemy or nation, it will be several nations that will come against this tiny nation as we have seen before.

Lets not forget the thousands of rockets and missiles that Hezbollah has in Lebanon pointing toward Israel.

Israel is in the palm of God’s Hands. He has been faithful to His own nation and people. He will always be that but it’s not enough to just say “God is in control.”

War means that young Jewish men and women are going to go into battle, it is horrifying!  It means that there would be many casualties and Jewish families will have to say goodbye to loved ones, lots of tears and funerals again.

When Israel will have to do this, you can bet that the entire Arab world will accuse Israel and the mainstream media will again turn on Israel and accuse her of being the aggressor. So it’s crucial that  Christians around the world wake up and get into the fight for the Land Of The Bible, and stand united in prayers, words, deeds and actions. It is important that your priests and pastors are calling to prayer and you have huge pro-Israel rallies around the world, so Israel will know she is not alone.

When Israel’s enemies are taking on The Holy Land and Her people, they are taking on God as well. Israel and God are united. This is His Nation and His people. As Christians, we cannot say it has nothing to do with us. It has everything to do with us and our faith!! (Please feel free to share this blog with your pastors and leadership around the world)

We are living in interesting times, and as we are celebrating Purim and that Haman didn’t succeed in wiping out the Jewish people, nor will Iran or any other enemy of Israel succeed in taking out the Jews!

Israel is here to stay as a blessing to the whole world, I’m honored and blessed to have a front row seat living in Israel. When war will come you can count on me being out reporting the truth for Israel, being your girl with boots on the ground in The Holy Land.

Pray for Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli Government!

Genesis 12:1-3:

I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great,  and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.

UNITED WE STAND WITH ISRAEL!!

The United West About Page under “Our Mission”

The United West is dedicated to defending and advancing Western Civilization against the kinetic and cultural onslaught of Shariah Islam so that America remains a land of freedom, justice, and opportunity grounded in the principles of our Constitutional Republic. The United West has taken up this challenge because the ever increasing forces of darkness, whether political, social, or philosophical seek to destroy, subvert or subjugate all that Americans hold to be right and true. The United West will succeed in this mission by educating, training and activating Americans to stand on proven principles, guide public opinion and amend public policy so that leadership is selected on November 6, 2016, which affirm the canons of jurisprudence.

Specifically, TUW educates and activates freedom minded people, wherever they may live, to effectively develop strategies and tactics which propagate exceptionalism of Western Civilization over and against the totalitarian choke-hold of Shariah Islam. Immediately, our objectives include the mobilization of Americans and Europeans to stand firmly for the defense and protection of the State of Israel.

THE UNITED WEST combines top-shelf academics with a military-grade activism to distinguish itself from every counter-jihad organization. There is no other nongovernmental organization like it, in the world.

Intro to ‘The Gravity of Mohammed’ & ‘Professional Ignorance’

I am on Dr. Bill Warner’s Political Islam email list. Warner has a Doctorate from North Carolina State University in Physics and Mathematics from 1968. Yet his present-day bread and butter is exposing the darker side of Islam. Indeed, Warner is one of the foremost researching experts on Islam today.

Exposing Islam comes with a price in this day and age of Leftist inspired political correctness. Leftists and Muslim Apologists do their utmost to disqualify Warner with the accusations of hate mongering racist. These Leftist/Muslim critics rarely take a critical argument Warner uses in exposing Islam to contradict him. Rather the basis for their criticism is Warner’s enlightening essays, books and videos that directly take Islam in the actual context of the Quran, Hadith and Sira (Sunnah = Sira + Hadith) from the days those manuscripts became accepted and revered by Muslims and demonstrates Islam is much more political in objectives rather than religious.

Warner’s critics claim he takes the revered writings out of context which is a taqiyya/kitman lie. It is the Muslim Apologist that their theopolitical assertions out of context by cherry picking a Surah or a revered comment from the Hadith or Sira to appear as religious, yet when read in the original context the religious aspect becomes subservient to Islam’s political aspect.

Next the Leftist/Muslim Apologist coalition will criticize Bill Warner by exposing his legit name as Bill French. I don’t have specific knowledge for the reason for the pseudonym Bill Warner, but I have an excellent guess.

Critics of Islam have faced death and the threat of the death from practitioners of the Religion of Peace. Until exposed publicly, a pseudonym helps in the protection of life and limb. An example of other famous Counterjihadists with pseudonyms are Fjordman and Brigitte Gabriel.

Well, this is meant to be an intro to the Political Islam email received 1/12/2018 7:46 AM. The email begins with a short essay about Sharia in Iran and the eruption of Iranian protestors displeased with the rule of a theopolitical Ayatollah (let’s call it a Mullahcracy). Warner compares Iran under the Westernization under the Shah and the medieval Sharia instituted in the Mullahcracy.

The second part of the email is a link to a teaching video on which essentially reflects on the idiotic Leftist/Muslim Apologist race-baiting manipulation of the word Islamophobia framing political correctness. Along with the video there is a transcript of said video. All provided below.

The Gravity of Mohammed

By Bill Warner

January 11, 2018

Political Islam

The protests in Iran are not only about economics and politics, they’re also about Islam. Iran in the 1960’s saw mini skirts, smiling women with uncovered hair, men and women freely holding hands on university campuses, and in the air, there was a sense that progress was possible. Then the Shah was deposed during the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and the Ayatollah and imams came to power. Iran had been purified, returned to its Islamic roots of Mohammed. Today, we are witnessing the Persian people rise up again against the Iranian Islamic regime and say “no more”. How will this play out?

Over the 1400 years of Islam, there is a pattern that can be observed that I call THE GRAVITY OF MOHAMMED. It can be visualized as a cycling wave graph, or a sine wave (see figure below). An Islamic nation will cycle between secularism and hard line Sharia, a push and pull of modernity vs Mohammed or civilizations retracting and embracing the perfect example of Mohammed. It is hard to escape the Sunna of Mohammed which the Sharia implements. As long as you have the remnants of Islam in a society, Mohammed will always return. Said another way, as long as a society believes Mohammed is the prophet of Allah, Sharia will return.

Examples of this are Turkey and Iran. Turkey under Ataturk pulled away from Mohammed, only to return with Erdogan. Iran pulled away from Sharia under the Shah only to return under the Ayatollah, and now there is a good possibility that the Persians may push away from the Sharia again. However, this will surely be temporary as the only way to destroy rule by Sharia is to destroy the belief that Mohammed is the prophet of Allah (the Shahada). Thus, the Gravity of Mohammed predicts that although Iran will pull away from Sharia for now, and maybe for years to come, it will fall back again to its Islamic roots. Like gravity, Mohammed is always there.

Professional Ignorance [Transcript]

Political Islam

This is a talk given to political leaders. It covers how universities, law enforcement, clergy, politicians and military are not protecting our civilization via their professional ignorance.

Institutions are failing and not doing their due diligence to learn and explain the true nature of political Islam. The problem is not Islam. We are the problem.

The transcript (done with automatic speech to text software):

Well if any of you all have seen me before you know what I’m going to talk about the same thing I always talk about which is political Islam. I thought I would talk about it this time with what was going on in local politics and in our local school system. For those of you who don’t know me you’re looking at one of America’s most famous. Actually at one time I was in the top 10 of racist or bigot Islamophobia in America. And that ain’t easy. But we did it anyway. Now the reason I’m called a racist hater bigot Islamophobia is what I do as I talk about what Muhammad said and did what Allah says in the Koran.

And for these telling these stories is what gets me the benefit of being a racist hater bigot Islamophobia. And I’ll put it to you that if you’re not a racist hater bigot Islamophobia you’re not doing your political job. Well. In local politics. Recently when Ray asked me to talk I said what I want to talk about. So I decided to talk about the first thing that popped up in front of me which was we had another multicultural moment in the schools and education which was TMAG school went to the Twelfth Avenue mosque to receive their dose of moderate Islam.

And what I want to tell you is what happened what didn’t happen and why it should happen. All right here’s what did happen. The person who gave the lecture to the children from the school was a former Christian convert to Islam. And she tells me that Muslims honor Jesus they honor that this whole event is about critical thought Abraham as the prophet of the Jews Christians and Islam. They honor all the prophets and that the children in front of her were her brothers and sisters. Mary wore a job Jesus will return and fight the anti christ. Jihad is an inner struggle and that Islam is all about the free will. And conservative politicians are haters. So you didn’t know you were being talked about down the cloth have any mosques. So this is what happened. Now what is wrong with this.

I don’t mind somebody standing and staying there. But here’s what did not happen. No one stood up and was able to ask her any questions or tell her you call us your brothers and sisters and yet there are 12 verses in the Koran which say that a Kaffir a non muslim is never the friend of a Muslim. How does this work out? So this is the kind of question that should be asked if this were all about critical thinking and critical learning. Now then. They would also if they were trained well enough to ask questions would find out that although a creature called Jesus is in the Koran His name is Isa. And he is not the Jesus of the Gospels. But no one was able to ask this question nor did the students even know to ask this question. Nor did they even know to ask the question if Abraham is the father of your religion how come the Abraham in the Koran is not the same as the Abraham in the Old Testament. Just a small question perhaps. Now then critical thought involves debate.

You made.

You may remember debates I don’t know but anyway debate is involved in critical thought and sitting there listening to one side of an argument not the other is not what you call critical thought. Now then.

Let’s talk about the jihad.

That’s the J word.

She told them that jihad was the inner struggle and that all members of all religions have an inner struggle to lose weight to not lose their temperature lose their temper or something else. We all have things and we want to correct in our life and this is the inner struggle but no one was able to ask the question if jihad is the inner struggle how common the Hadith which are the traditions of Muhammad. Only 2 percent of the Hadith involving jihad are about inner struggle. Ninety eight percent of the jihad is traditions are about killing gaffer’s but no one was there to ask that question. And by the way on the question of free will there is a verse or two in the Koran which states that an individual has free will but. 98 percent roughly is everything is in Allah’s hands. So if all is determining what I’m to say next to my sentence whereas my free will.

Now then who is going to Islam succeeds to the method of not telling lies and telling half truths. There is a similarity to Isa in the Koran with Jesus. It’s just that he’s not the same person. By the way when Isa returns Jesus is supposed to return. Isa is going to kill the pig and break the cross. And those who do not convert to Islam will be sent straight to hell under his rulership. He’ll get married have children and then die and he prays behind Mohammad. When the imams pray in front of the law. So we don’t get the full story. And I don’t object to them telling half sorry what I object to is that no one was there to tell them the other half of the story.

I’m not for a suppression of speech I’m just for having the whole speech talked about. Now then. This is part of a civilizational war. And I use this term and that precise definition. This is a war between our civilization has as its ultimate foundation two principles and intellectual principle critical thought.

Or debate and argument. The other principle is an ethical principle of a uniform ethical unitary ethic. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you which others all others. So that is the corner the ethical cornerstone. And by the way this ethical Cornerstone only lets us have a form of government. Which is quite flexible and adaptable. When the Constitution was written slaves were not able to vote and of slavery was permitted. But what has happened through the application of the golden rule is that blacks were freed from slavery all slavery was prohibited because if you think about it who here wants you can put an ad for a slave on Craig’s List. And who’s going to respond to it. Nobody wants to be a slave. So the application of the Golden Rule to our constitution as an ethical principle allows us to adapt and change always on the basis. If I were a woman would I want to vote yes, I would. Therefore I think women should have a vote. This is an ethical principle.

Islam teaches a different form of ethics which using the Sharia ethics of dualism. That is a Sharia court Kafir a non Moslem cannot even appear and talk in front of the court is not allowed to bear witness. So if you’re a kafir and you want to appear in court you have to find a Muslim who’s willing to stand in your place. You actually pay him to be your witness and you don’t know if he’ll testifies you’d like to or not. So our civilisation is based on unitary ethics and critical thought. Islam is based on dualistic ethics were how you treated it depends on who you are and it depends not on critical thought but are authoritative thought in Islamic civilisation. No idea is allowed to contradict what is in the Koran and the Sharia. So therefore this is two different civilizations.

And they cannot coexist. It just doesn’t work. If we’re if we’re to find out if knowledge is to be based on the Koran why debate about it. That is there’s no room for critical thought and authoritative thought. There is no room for a golden rule. And in a dualistic form of ethics. So this is a civilizational war that’s being fought and it is a civilizational war because Islam is the most brilliant political power political group you’ve ever met. They change headscarves into war. They change food halal food they change prayer whether it’s in the street or in a mosque or a school. Everything is adaptable for pushing against the Kaffir. Now then. This should not be a problem.

The problem is not Islam. We are the problem because who is not there for instance when they are the major carriers of our civilization our government law enforcement military churches and schools all of these are failing all of them are failing. They’re not doing their job. Many of these children who went to the Maggs mosque.

Have a church they go to and they were not explained to them the true nature of Islam. Because inside the churches there’s been a decision we just don’t talk about that. It upsets people so as a result the church does not prepare children for what they experience. There was Dawa the AWB no church teaches the principles of Dawa to its congregation. So therefore children are secretly joining Islam even in the schools because they were not prepared for what they were being told. These children should have been able to stand up and ask questions if they had gone to a church. That’s just what I think. But they are not told to do that at church. Now let’s talk about. And I call the pastors and most churches being professionally ignorant. They’re not just amateur and ignorant. You can read Yahoo News and learn more about Islam. The average pastor will tell you that he knows. Now then.

Here’s a story from what happened in Tennessee advised one university to reflect what the churches are doing or not doing. Remember this was an event by the Muslim Student Association and they brought in an FBI counterterrorism expert.

We’ll deal more of that in a moment. They also stood and sat in front of the audience. The head of the NSA Muslim Student Association said We have one in Tennessee. All the churches including the fundamentalist churches now accept Islam as a form of religion. So the Muslims are telling their own we’ve defeated the church in Middle Tennessee. Now in.

This kind of terrorism expert let’s talk about why law enforcement is doing or not doing. We explain a little bit about how the counterterrorism aspect of law enforcement was done in the FBI after 9/11 George Bush said to the FBI. We know 110 percent of the FBI agents to be put in the new counter-terrorism unit. Now. Let’s say that you’re an agent in charge in China. You have agents working on the FBI agents are difficult to fire and get rid of because of Civil Service protected but now then you have a way to get rid of the bottom 10 percent of all your law enforcement agencies and the FBI. So this is the cold hard truth of what happens to the counterterrorism because it seems sensical. Of course it does. Now then at the same time I say that there was someone who stood up and asked this counterterrorism expert says Have you ever read the hadith. No didn’t know what it was. Have you read the Koran? Well I’ve had an e-mail from explained some verses to me.

So this is what we have in this one no Muslim Student Association meeting is we have an FBI agent said I don’t. But I’m an expert and we have the Muslims bragging about the fact that they have defeated the churches in Middle Tennessee. And you know what. I don’t think they’re bragging.

Here’s another thing about the churches. I. Bobbie portray taught me how to do lobbying the legislature not to tag along behind her for a while. When she moved to the wake swinish told me I do lobbying and so I tried. I says you know what I want a resolution to come out of the Tennessee legislature condemning the persecution of Christians in Islamic countries. So I went to a legislator who is favorable to the cause gave her my idea and she wrote it up for me. She says this is great this will be easy to pass. Well there was one thing that was not easy to pass and that was Turkey who was mentioned as a persecutor of a Christian. There was a big pushback from the legislators about naming turkey. You see the Turkish Chamber of Commerce has a heavy influence on the legislature.

Now then here’s what I did not do. I did not go under the direction of pastors or anything and say Can you help push on the legislators so that we can include Turkey because they kill the Armenian Christians. I didn’t even bother thinking about that. Why. Because it’s useless to do.

So therefore I just said take Turkey out. So this is an example of what’s going on because the churches are not properly trained and by the way there is a story about the legislature model books which I sell in the back of the room or a little because of being down to the legislature. We were trying to pass a bill that was about Sharia law. And I realize in listening to the senators that they had too much to read. So when I got through the thing I went home to call our printer says how many pages are in one eighth of one inch 62 pages.

So I wrote a 62 page reload book I’ve sold tens of thousands of them. So when you get down to the legislature you can learn a lot that can be very useful to you. And as a consequence it took all my big books and made little books out of them as well. Now I’ve said them 10 and 20 to 1. So it was not a total loss for me. But do you understand what I’m telling you that I wouldn’t even try to go out and raise that pastor’s trouble about a resolution talking about condemning persecuting Christians. What do you think about doing that.

Why bother. They don’t want to get involved. The Muslims want to get involved. Oh yes they do. Big time. Now then. This was a school event. What’s the school’s actually be teaching. You’re going to be surprised when I tell you I think the schools should teach Koran zero hadith and Sharia. Straight up. You don’t need to. You don’t even need to comment about it. When you read sir for 24 and it says that a Muslim can beat his wife. You know you really don’t do a lot of explanation of that and I think that every child should know that that is possible to do. So I am not for suppression of speech. I am for all out speech including let’s read the Koran and see what’s in it. You can read for yourself the 12 verses say that a Muslim is never your true friend. We’re read to comment about that. Just teach the actual facts.

60 million Christians have died and yet when you go to a church school you won’t learn anything about it. And by the way it’s true to my knowledge of all church schools. Speaking of schools I did a little research project for a senator and my research project was to find out how Islam was being teach the teacher. I can do better. That was being taught. In our school system. I was surprised at the insolence and arrogance. Of the universities in dealing with the senator. There were like What do you want this catalogue for. Who’s doing this. Why should we give you one? Who is this.

This was the senator. So a gentleman who was here earlier I don’t see him now.

When he talks about the fact that UT is not under the control of the legislature. It is not. To my knowledge no one is controlling our state universities. Think about that. And I think that is our own problem as well.

I talked to a Vanderbilt professor who teaches Sharia law. She doesn’t know Hadith from haggis. But she does. She said. She was simply a law professor and the head of the department said you’re going to be teaching Sharia law. I said Well that’s interesting. So you teach Sharia law and you don’t teach Koran. You don’t teach Siri don’t teach hadith. Now. I said What do you teach about jihad. She says no we don’t teach you about that. Is. What we teach about women’s rights. We don’t teach about that. What do you teach. She says Wills and business law. So this is from Vanderbilt University. This is what being taught there. What I would like to see is that the state schools would teach the Koran and Hadith of private schools will do it.

Then as we have here Jackie can tell you more about this than I can the textbooks in Tennessee now do not reflect our civilization but they reflect the civilization of Islam. Jackie.

Who did this. We did it to ourselves in the sense that when you look notice something about Islam how brilliant it is that Muslims don’t do the actual work. We do the work for them. The textbook company was owned by cappers. This money went to cavern’s everyone Kaffir is a non Muslims. And yet here they are hiring any mom to vet everything that they do. So Islam is not the problem. We are the problem. I just keep coming back to that. We’re getting the short end of a stick because we even grab the stick.

I want to say something about homes schools and private schools that are bad idea for the civilization. There is a good idea for your family. But there is a bad idea for the civilization because those who are powerful enough and wealthy enough to put their children in their own school then just sort of say bye bye to the school system. So as a result those who could be politically powerful in influence the school system is saying nope we’re taking our children out of it. Now this is the best decision for your family. But it’s a bad decision for the civilization because it’s a fortress kind of concept instead of controlling all the territory.

We just put up a wall and say we controlled what’s in this wall that wall will get smaller and smaller and smaller. Now then. Tell us something about the media that affects me. Right now. I’m a presence on the Well my idea of doing my business and by the way if I’m going to deal with Islam I have to have a source of money. I’m not paid with taxes. If I’m going to get money it comes from this. So what I did was I started myself a business on books. The idea was that the Web would be a place in which I would try to get the newsletters out of videos. It was a level playing field and I could succeed. And I did. I created a quite profitable tax book company you a textbook company although I do view them as textbooks. Not so much anymore. You know why. We you what’s happening on the web. I invented the term political Islam.

And if you put it in google the actual search engine Google that used to be six months ago that I own the top three screens outdid all.

It was all my turf. Not so much anymore. Two thirds of those are gone. He hung on paranoid. Well of course I’m paranoid but there’s another issue which is Google has stated as a matter of corporate policy that they will suppress those who criticize Islam and elevate those who praise Islam. So therefore a corporate policy is the playing field is not level anymore. I used to get about a thousand new members of Twitter every month. Now 300. I post on Facebook. Now then I get a peculiar kind of phone call an e-mail from people, Bill how come you are putting out a new video every two weeks? Oh I am. Oh well I’m a follower of yours on YouTube and Facebook and I don’t get notified. So what they’re doing is not banning me they’re just cutting off the oxygen. Facebook Twitter Google. All of them. Have. And it’s not just me in particular.

It’s anybody who’s on the southern poverty law centers handbook of hatred bigot Islamophobia press the Southern Poverty Law Center has a different concept now. The first concept was will shame these people put them on a list. And so it used to be when I was on the Southern Poverty Law Center was like finding my name on a truckstop say for a good time call Bill. Yeah yeah but now then the Southern Poverty Law Center has a new idea that’s driving these bigots out of business. And so they’ve gone to the Silicon Valley Megatron Mega Man mega manias and they’ve said let’s put these guys out of business. So I’m not the only one who’s getting bad calls on the web. So as a result and I have to look at another way of selling my books. Let’s talk about the military.

Juman [???] not mention the dirty word of the military now with the military supposed to defend us right. The dirty word McMaster.

Our military does not study the history of jihad. West Point and Annapolis do not teach the history of jihad. They don’t teach the major Jihad riders. They should because you’ll find some interesting things to learn a general in the military and that includes the Islamic State sees all combat as virtually civilizational war and a religious war and that the critical thing is to destroy the enemy’s faith. Let’s go back to what I was saying about the churches.

That the churches have committed suicide on their own faith. They’re lukewarm than either hot or cold. And in Islam that is the first place to try to take down a civilization is in its religion.

But military doesn’t study this. The military studies kinetic war bullets and bombs. Are not against bullets and bombs but there are other forms of fighting wars. And if all your military is capable of doing it’s fighting with bullets and bombs they’re going to lose because the enemy is going to defeat him with another method. General Stanley McChrystal who is there for a while under Obama was his top man for Afghanistan wrote up an entire paper on how to defeat Islam how to win in Afghanistan. I think it was a title that was heavily redacted for tactical purposes. That is personal names were taken out. There were three words that did not occur in this document. Those three words are Islam jihad and Muslim. They are going to defeat an enemy in the longest lasting war we’ve had. And you’re never going to mention those three words.

This is not to demean McMaster. I’m not a master. Stanley McChrystal he probably has never been told about this himself or if he knows about it he knows he can’t talk about it. So the military is not doing a good job either. As a matter of fact. The only people who are doing a good job in resisting Islam are rooms filled to people like yourself. Oh.

Another personal thing by the way is an attribute to who I am. There’s been recently some talk about one of the things that the FBI used to do is they used to train people. People like myself and Spencer would write position papers white papers for the FBI.

Then under was it Bush or Obama. They were pretty much the same on this issue. I forget who it was. No no. I mean I hate to break that to you about the first man who was fired from being in the military knowing what Islam was with Steve Kathlyn. And he was fired under Bush. So anyway I think that law enforcement you know what Islam is I think the military should know what Islam is. I think the churches should know what Islam is. I think the average citizens you know what Islam is. And if you do all of these things you’ll be like me you’ll become a racist hater bigot.

Now by the way I laugh at the concept that this is a very effective weapon. It keeps most people shot up. The average pastor does not want to be seen in print that he is an Islamophobic although he can’t. No one can define that term for me. Can you. What is an Islamophobic. You’re afraid of wife beating and jihad. Torturous death. Me too. Now then. I want to say a couple things about myself because I can’t win this war. I’ll go into small groups I go to Europe and I give talks like this Some better some worse. I can’t do this. I mean who else is beating the bushes on Islam here in Tennessee. Well there’s Kathy Henares. And we might and you in jail. Maybe a half a dozen people but we cannot possibly win this war because you see we’re just irritants.

So we have to have a way of bringing in groups and that’s the reason I’m saying that in particular the church should become our most powerful weapon. A winning feels good. I recommend it. But the idea of becoming a racist hater bigot will suppress most people’s opinions that just shut up because they don’t want to be called that. Now let me give you a little good news because everything I told you here is bad news. The reason I tell you nothing but bad news, is I do not know any good news about Islam in America. I mean I had some hope when. Trump won but he’s turned out to be not so good on the subject other than putting off another occasional irritating tweet. But he chose McMaster to be charge of basically what is it intelligence. What is MacMasters actual right. National security adviser. When your national security adviser thinks there’s good Muslims and bad Muslims and the Islamic State are not really Muslims you’re not going to go anywhere.

The good news is this an organization in Europe and there are several attributes it has which this group does not. It’s called Center for the Study of Political Islam international and it’s centered in Czech Republic Slovakia Poland Hungary and Austria and Germany. Now when I talk to them the room looks very different. They’re all under the age of 35.

All of them. I’m the oldest man in the room. I usually I’m the oldest man in the room anyway. But in this case I’m by far the oldest man in the room. And so I was curious why is it that in Central Europe they oppose this law. Why is it that Orbán who’s the head of Hungary will say we do not want any migrants? We don’t need them. How come they tell the truth. In Central Europe. We see Central Europe remember something called the Soviet Union. They were under the boot heel of Soviet Union. And the group and Bruno check. One man told me the story of how his father could not go to college because he was a merchant under the Soviets. Another man told me how his uncle was killed by the KGB as they said we know tyranny.

We have seen tyranny. We remember tyranny. And Islam is tyranny with a god. So there is hope. What’s happening is they’re translating my books into for my books like Sharia law for non Muslim who translated into 20 languages now. Being translated and also we have influence there with political parties. Not fringe elements like this meeting at a fairground meeting in Legislative Plaza. I gave a talk to the F.D. which is now the third ranking party in Germany executive committee and the title of the talk was using proper language. TOI gave them a talk on how to not how to talk not about Muslims but about Islam political Islam. Not religious Islam. How to talk about the principles of Islam and its political principles. When the talk was over. One of the members came up and said to me I can now see after your talk we will never defeat Islam using our methods and that the only method will work are yours.

Now this isn’t a personal attaboy it’s just that I was the first person ever to talk to him and knew anything about Islam and using proper words. So there are freedom parties now which are rising in Europe France Germany Austria Poland Czech Republic Slovakia and Romania. So what I’m saying is in Europe it’s different because they’re the threat is.

It is in your face. It is interesting to walk see a bunch of women pushing strollers with a black bag on. It’s demoralizing.

And now then Austria has made it illegal to wear the niqab. So we find that where people are closer to the edge work is being done.

So I think what is happening in America is right. They are not here yet. OK. I’ll tend to that later. I’m going on a diet after Christmas and it starts I’m gonna stop smoking in the fall. So dealing with Islam has this quality to it.

About Political Islam

What is Islam?

Islam is a cultural, religious and political system. Only the political system is of interest to kafirs (non-Muslims) since it determines how we are defined and treated. The Islamic political system is contained in the Koran, the Hadith (the traditions of Mohammed) and his biography, the Sira.

Wes Pruden writes about the obvious collusion the Mainstream Media (MSM) refuses to cover because of its irrational hatred of President Trump. This story would be huge in any period in the 20th century. In a polarized 21st century, not so much.

Here’s a clue: Nefarious Barack Obama and Project Cassandra. If there is not a crime in this somewhere, then the Left can do whatsoever it pleases and basically screw the U.S. Constitution and We The American People.

A collusion bombshell, but not on target

You’ve got to give the Democrats and their acolytes in the media credit for courage and a talent for tolerating bad taste and smell. It’s not easy to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to a corpse.

How else to keep alive the Trump-as-Russian agent investigation? Robert Mueller keeps hiring help, reluctantly cutting loose his chief investigator who turned out to be a Hillary plant eager for revenge, and keeping skeptics at bay with promises that he’ll light the fuse on a bombshell just as soon as he can find one.

Mr. Mueller may have a secret witness or two ready to come forward, but Deep Throat is dead and gone, and secrets are never kept in Washington. The Nation’s Capital leaks like a month-old infant.

From time to time someone obsessed with finding the key to nullifying the 2016 election and restoring Hillary to the White House, has stepped up with something new — not new evidence, but the same old song sung in louder voice, full of noise and gas, only to be soon revealed as signifying nothing. It’s back to waiting for something next week, or next month or even next year for the bombshell that will rattle the universe, or at least a few of the suburban precincts.

There’s lots of scandal out there, with fuses waiting for the match, and but for preoccupation with Russian collusion some of the more energetic Woodward-and-Bernstein impersonators might stumble upon some of it. One ambitious reporter, Josh Meyer of Politico, the Capitol Hill political daily, has delivered with a remarkable story on the weekend of how Barack Obama, with connivance of John Kerry, the Obama secretary of State, and John Brennan, Mr. Obama’s director of the CIA, scuttled an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) of Hezbollah, one of the most lethal distributors of worldwide terror, because the investigation was getting too close to Iran.

Mr. Obama’s obsession was with cutting a deal with Iran, and he cut it by giving the Iranians everything they wanted. Then he set out to avoid upsetting the mullahs. Mr. Obama knew enough about Islam, radical and otherwise, not to hurt the feelings of mullahs.

Called Project Cassandra, the investigation was opened in 2008 to track Hezbollah’s trafficking of drugs and weapons, money laundering and other sordid crime. Some of it was plotted in the United States. One investigator likened Hezbollah to the John Gotti crime family in New York, Gotti the so-called Teflon don who eluded justice for years.

In fact, the story does read like the plot of a double episode of a British detective mystery with so many twists, turns and dead-ends that only the man who wrote the script could keep up with them all (and he was never sure).

What comes through loud and clear is how Barack Obama, whose first presidential trip was to Cairo to apologize to the Muslims in the name of the United States for being the United States. He and his administration were determined never to disappoint Islam again.

The faces of Project Cassandra were those of John (“Jack”) Kelly, 51, and David Asher, 49, who, working out of a secret DEA safe house near Dulles International Airport, scoured wiretaps and patiently built a network of informants to map Hezbollah mischief with the help of U.S. and foreign intelligence and security agencies. The Politico account describes how Messrs. Kelly and Asher tangled with rival agencies that, in true and tested Washington bureaucratic practice, were sometimes more interested in protecting their turf than the nation’s security.

“But other agents embraced their swashbuckling reputation,” according to Politico, “claiming that more aggressive tactics were needed because the CIA had long turned a blind eye to Hezbollah’s criminal networks, and even cultivated informants within them, in a misguided and myopic focus on preventing terrorist attacks.”

They were so determined, Politico reports, that they damaged their careers by the intensity of the pursuit of the investigation. “It got to the point where a lot of people didn’t want to have meetings with them,” said one FBI terrorism task force who worked often with the two. “They refused to accept a ‘no’ for an answer. And they were given a ‘no’ for an answer, even though they were usually right.”

John Brennan, the former CIA director, was determined that the United States would embrace Hezbollah as an influence for tolerance and compassion, and this appealed to Mr. Obama’s instinct to blame America first for the sins of its tormentors. Mr. Brennan has been dogged for years by a story that he converted to Islam years ago in Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Obama wanted a deal, any deal, with Iran to cement his “legacy.” Now he has one. It’s just not the legacy he ordered.

REGIONAL HEGEMONY

Eligah Barrett (not sure if a pseudonym or actual) uses sources to put together a profile of Iran’s agenda. As the title suggests, Iran is seeking to be a military power at least regionally. I suspect an even greater agenda with Iran’s pursuit of nukes.

This yet another reason to NOT TRUST Iran about any nuclear deal WHATSOEVER! Especially as negotiated by former President Barack Hussein Obama, the most corrupt President in American history.

REGIONAL HEGEMONY

By Eligah Barrett

Back in 1992, the New York Times wrote, “Becoming second to Saudi Arabia as a world oil power, IRAN EXPECTS TO FURTHER ITS GREATER AMBITION OF BEING THE MOST IMPORTANT REGIONAL POWER IN THE PERSIAN GULF, A LONG-HELD FOREIGN-POLICY OBJECTIVE” (NOV. 7, 1992).

The article examined how Iran planned to achieve this objective: More troubling to other countries in the area and to the west is the other side of Iran’s plan to achieve this objective: A HUGE REARMAMENT PROGRAM, financed largely by the New oil money.

“The Islamic Affairs Analyst of Gloucester, England, printed an article in August 1994 that said, ‘Iran is pursuing a parallel policy of surrounding Israel with implacable enemies. Turkey is moving closer to Iran. To Israel’s North, IRAN has deluged Hezbollah in Lebanon with money and weapons. With Hamas in control of Gaza, Tehran could ignite another conflict on Israel’s western and northern borders at any moment. Iran is also’ opening another front in the West Bank, which crawls with zealots sympathetic to if not in the pay of Iran. And Egypt, since the ouster of President Mubarak, is moving rapidly toward discarding its peace treaty with Israel as it moves into Iran’s camp.’” [Found at the Trumpet]

Of course, the Shiites controls Iran and are a majority 60 percent in Iraq. The U.S.’s removal of Saddam Hussein in 2003 opened the way for Iran to heavily infiltrate Iraq, providing armaments, financing and training to Shiites militias, sending thousands of operatives into the country and establishing economic ties with it. Moreover, the most powerful political party in Iraq is allied with Tehran. This could be a decisive factor causing Iraq to fall under Iran’s control.

“That 1994 Islamic Affairs Analyst article said further, starting at the foot of the Red Sea, ‘IRAN is set to increase its influence considerably in both Somalia and Yemen. … Further up the Red Sea coast, Sudan is already firmly in pro-Iranian hands with [Omar Hassan] al-Bashir’s military regime no more than a front for Hassan al-Bashir’s Islamists. And it is from bases in Sudan that Islamist fundamentalists are beginning to undermine the stability of the newly independent Eritrea, which, it should be noted, now controls all of what was formerly Ethiopia’s Red Sea coastline.’” [ibid.]

These trends continue today. Iran has continued to send arms shipments to Islamists in Somalia. In March 2008, Iran signed a military agreement with Sudan. In May 2008, it further boosted its ties with Eritrea, signing trade and investment agreements. Again, the following year, in April 2009, IRAN and Eritrea, together with Algeria, agreed to expand their bilateral cooperation. Iran has a frightening influence and control in North Africa, which greatly intensified with the unrest that began erupting in Arab states in early 2011. The Tunisian government fell in January into the hands of the radical Muslims. The Ennahda party, the Islamist party banned under the dictatorship of Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, quickly emerged as probably the most powerful political force in the country. In October 2011, the Islamists party won the nation’s first free elections since independence in 1956. That is almost exactly what happened in Egypt when its first-ever free elections ushered in the Muslim Brotherhood in 2012. However, it didn’t take long before discontent surged against the hard-liner Ennahda. Assassinations of two prominent opposition figures in 2013 threatened another revolution in Tunisia. It was only averted when rival factions negotiated a peaceful abdication of the elected Islamist government. Tunisia then elected the secular-nationalist Nidaa Tounes Party. Its candidate, Beji Caid Essebsi, became president. Essebsi, however, is a former official of the ousted Ben Ali regime. He has come under fire for Tunisia’s failing economy and for terrorist attacks that have crippled Tunisia’s tourism industry. Again, it is a scenario not much different from Egypt’s.

Iran has also heavily infiltrated Yemen and Bahrain, and it is deeply entrenched in Afghanistan. Many moderate Arab nations fear, and are afraid to offend, IRAN.

Here is what the Islamic Affairs Analyst of May 13, 1992, said: “The main strategic aim of Iran is to dominate the Persian Gulf and environs. An important step in achieving this goal is to GAIN UNDISPUTED LEADERSHIP OF THE RADICAL ISLAMIC CAMP.” Many of the good intelligence reports about Iran have proven true. Do we see just how powerful Iran is becoming militarily? Prof. Barry Rubin wrote in 2007, “IRAN tries to extend its influence in THREE ways: propaganda and incitement; the promotion of client groups, and projecting the state’s own power. Today, IRAN sponsors radical Islamist groups in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and among in Palestinians as well as in other countries. Its two most important clients are Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Palestinian Hamas group (Global Politician, July 25, 2007).” [the Trumpet]

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has put together a map showing how the Russian military is targeting civilians in Putin’s effort to support Iranian client dictator Bashar al-Assad to remain in power in Syria.

Take notice of the regimes in full military cooperation to keep al-Assad in power: Russia, Iran and incredulously NATO-member Turkey.

Russia officially may not be a Communist nation, but an old Communist former-Soviet Union KGB officer runs Russia in Vladimir Putin. Ever since the October 1917 Lenin led Communist revolution overthrew and assassinated the Russian Czar and the entire royal family, Russia has been no friend of the USA.

Iran ceased being an American friend after crazy Khomeini kicked out the Shah, killing royal loyalists, killing fellow anti-Shah revolutionaries, including Western-minded Iranian civilians, and allow Khomeini activists to overrun the U.S. Embassy in Tehran holding American Embassy staff under torturous conditions for 444 days.

Turkey became an essential Cold War ally of the U.S. because the Communist Soviet Union was an actual threat to the Turkish Republic. Hence, Turkey became a member of NATO in Europe’s goal to be protected from Russian Communist imperialism which at the time made Eastern Europe Communist vassals. What changed with Turkey?

One – Russia became less a Communist global exporter and more a nationalist power broker. Two – Turkey under Erdogan’s leadership, has experienced a revival of Islamic originalism. Meaning Turkey is on a path to be a Sunni radical Islamic propagator as much as Iran is a radical Shia Islamic propagator. The only redeeming factor Turkey-Iran is eventually the age-old Sunni-Shia rivalry will eventually click in. Until Sunni-Shia mutual hatred diverts Turkey and Iran, Russia, Iran and Turkey have one mutual interest of taking down American power. Eventually all three will turn on each other, but until then American National Interests will face a tough road of uneasy speculative choices.

Russia Renews Targeting Civilians

[Info pertains to these dates: August 14 – October 7, 2017]

Russia renewed its violent, indiscriminate air campaign against civilians in Western Syria in order to coerce groups opposed to the Bashar al-Assad regime to accept a ceasefire or ‘de-escalation zone’ in Idlib Province. Russia shifted its air campaign to target rebel-held terrain in Idlib and Hama Provinces following an offensive launched by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) – the successor of Syrian al Qaeda affiliate Jabhat Fatah al-Sham – in Northern Hama Province on September 19. The Russian Ministry of Defense launched an immediate disinformation operation to present this shift in its air campaign as a legitimate series of strikes against extremist groups attempting to disrupt a ‘de-escalation zone’ in Idlib Province brokered by Russia, Turkey, and Iran on September 15. Russia nonetheless mounted a systematic campaign of airstrikes against civilian infrastructure – including hospitals, schools, power stations, and mosques – as well as former U.S.-backed rebel groups unaffiliated with HTS or al Qaeda. The strikes marked a return to the widespread punitive air campaigns Russia previously directed against opposition-held terrain across Western Syria. Russia also employed advanced weapons systems to further inflict violence against Idlib Province under the guise of counter-terrorism operations. The Russian Black Sea Fleet’s Permanent Mediterranean Task Force launched Kalibr cruise missiles targeting Ma’arat al-Numan in Southern Idlib Province on September 22. Russia Tu-95MS ‘Bear’ strategic bombers later launched Kh-101 cruise missiles targeting the outskirts of Idlib City on September 26. Russia’s deliberate use of violence against civilians precludes any legitimate, Russian-enforced ‘de-escalation’ zone in Idlib Province.

Russia also leveraged its ongoing air campaign to co-opt Turkey away from the U.S. and NATO in order to further set conditions for the planned ‘de-escalation zone’ in Idlib. Russia concentrated its airstrikes in areas of Western Idlib Province along the Syrian-Turkish Border from September 25 – 30. The Russian Air Force likely sought to interdict the movement of HTS and opposition forces ahead of a Turkish Armed Force (TSK) deployment into Idlib by targeting rebel-held areas connecting Western Aleppo Province to the Bab al-Hawa Border Crossing on the Syrian-Turkish Border as well as key supply routes around Idlib City. Turkish President Recep Erdogan subsequently announced the start of cross-border operations to implement the Idlib ‘de-escalation zone’ on October 7. Erdogan stated that Russia would support his intervention. The TSK began deployments to observation positions in Northern Idlib Province near the majority-Kurdish Afrin Canton on October 12 following earlier reconnaissance missions. Russia likely perceives an opportunity to exploit widening diplomatic fissures between the U.S. and Turkey. Russia could thus attempt to use the ‘de-escalation zone’ to compel Turkey into deeper – albeit temporary – cooperation with Russia in Northwestern Syria at the expense of the United States.

The following graphic depicts ISW’s assessment of Russian airstrike locations based on reports from local Syrian activist networks, statements by Russian and Western officials, and documentation of Russian airstrikes through social media. This map represents locations targeted by Russia’s air campaign, rather than the number of individual strikes or sorties. The graphic likely under-represents the extent of the locations targeted in Eastern Syria, owing to a relative lack of activist reporting from that region.

High-Confidence Reporting. ISW places high confidence in reports corroborated by documentation from opposition factions and activist networks on the ground in Syria deemed to be credible that demonstrate a number of key indicators of Russian airstrikes.

Low-Confidence Reporting. ISW places low confidence in reports corroborated only by multiple secondary sources, including from local Syrian activist networks deemed credible or Syrian state-run media.

Rocket Man Verbally Spanked at UN

VIDEO: Trump on Kim Jong-un: “Rocket man is on a suicide mission for himself”

On Monday, President Donald Trump gave one of the best speeches at the United Nations I have ever heard from an American since President Reagan. President Trump verbally spanked North Korea, Iran, the UN over sovereignty issues and members paying their fair share, Radical Islamic terrorism, the Maduro Socialist dictatorship in Venezuela, spanked Cuba over its Marxist dictatorship, International Multi-national trade agreements that place an undue financial burden on American taxpayers and in relation to those Multi-national deals, the President spanked unaccountable globalist bureaucracies that impose rules/laws that sovereign nation legislatures have not agreed to.

I felt like I was watching football team score touchdown after touchdown. I cheered and shouted throughout the roughly 40-minute speech.

Unsurprisingly, the Leftist Mainstream Media (MSM) acted as the opposing football team going hysterical with each point scored by Trump. Especially the President’s classic branding acumen in giving Kim Jong-un a new nickname: ROCKET MAN. I know of the ballistic Leftist MSM reaction not by observation but thanks to Fox News exposing Leftist propaganda of their competitors. I saw a clip on Fox News of George Stephanopoulos berating UN Ambassador Nikki Haley over the Rocket Man branding. Here’s the quote I heard from Ambassador Haley defending the NoKo branding to Stephanopoulos that I found on Business Insider:

Nikki Haley responds to Stephanopoulos Rocket Man quip 9-20-17

“I was talking to a president of an African country, and he actually cited ‘Rocket Man’ back to me. So, I will tell you that look — this is a way of getting people to talk about him, but every other international community is referring to him as Rocket Man.”

Here’s a little Rocket Man fun that the American Left and Kim Jong-un will not appreciate – eh, so what.

In remembering the great victory that led to this body’s founding, we must never forget that those heroes who fought against evil, also fought for the nations that they love. Patriotism led the Poles to die to save Poland, the French to fight for a free France, and the Brits to stand strong for Britain. Today, if we do not invest ourselves, our hearts, our minds, and our nations, if we will not build strong families, safe communities, and healthy societies for ourselves, no one can do it for us.

Mr. Secretary General, Mr. President, world leaders, and distinguished delegates, welcome to New York. It is a profound honor to stand here in my home city as a representative of the American people to address the people of the world. As millions of our citizens continue to suffer the effects of the devastating hurricanes that have struck our country, I want to begin by expressing my appreciation to every leader in this room who has offered assistance and aid. The American people are strong and resilient, and they will emerge from these hardships more determined than ever before.

Fortunately, the United States has done very well since Election Day last November 8. The stock market is at an all-time high, a record. Unemployment is at its lowest level in 16 years, and because of our regulatory and other reforms, we have more people working in the United States today than ever before. Companies are moving back, creating job growth, the likes of which our country has not seen in a very long time, and it has just been announced that we will be spending almost $700 billion on our military and defense. Our military will soon be the strongest it has ever been. For more than 70 years, in times of war and peace, the leaders of nations, movements, and religions have stood before this assembly.

Like them, I intend to address some of the very serious threats before us today, but also the enormous potential waiting to be unleashed. We live in a time of extraordinary opportunity.

Breakthroughs in science, technology, and medicine are curing illnesses and solving problems that prior generations thought impossible to solve. But each day also brings news of growing dangers that threaten everything we cherish and value. Terrorists and extremists have gathered strength and spread to every region of the planet. Rogue regimes represented in this body not only support terror but threaten other nations and their own people with the most destructive weapons known to humanity.

Authority and authoritarian powers seek to collapse the values, the systems, and alliances, that prevented conflict and tilted the world toward freedom since World War II. International criminal networks traffic drugs, weapons, people, force dislocation and mass migration, threaten our borders and new forms of aggression exploit technology to menace our citizens. To put it simply, we meet at a time of both immense promise and great peril. It is entirely up to us whether we lift the world to new heights or let it fall into a valley of disrepair. We have it in our power, should we so choose, to lift millions from poverty, to help our citizens realize their dreams, and to ensure that new generations of children are raised free from violence, hatred, and fear.

This institution was founded in the aftermath of two world wars, to help shape this better future. It was based on the vision that diverse nations could cooperate to protect their sovereignty, preserve their security, and promote their prosperity. It was in the same period exactly 70 years ago that the United States developed the Marshall Plan to help restore Europe. Those beautiful pillars, they are pillars of peace, sovereignty, security, and prosperity. The Marshall Plan was built on the noble idea that the whole world is safer when nations are strong, independent, and free. As president, Truman said in his message to congress at that time, our support of European recovery is in full accord with our support of the United Nations.

The success of the United Nations depends upon the independent strength of its members. To overcome the perils of the present, and to achieve the promise of the future, we must begin with the wisdom of the past. Our success depends on a coalition of strong and independent nations that embrace their sovereignty, to promote security, prosperity, and peace, for themselves and for the world. We do not expect diverse countries to share the same cultures, traditions, or even systems of government, but we do expect all nations to uphold these two core sovereign duties, to respect the interests of their own people and the rights of every other sovereign nation.

This is the beautiful vision of this institution, and this is the foundation for cooperation and success. Strong sovereign nations let diverse countries with different values, different cultures, and different dreams not just coexist, but work side by side on the basis of mutual respect. Strong sovereign nations let their people take ownership of the future and control their own destiny. And strong sovereign nations allow individuals to flourish in the fullness of the life intended by God. In America, we do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example for everyone to watch.

This week gives our country a special reason to take pride in that example. We are celebrating the 230th anniversary of our beloved Constitution, the oldest constitution still in use in the world today. This timeless document has been the foundation of peace, prosperity, and freedom for the Americans and for countless millions around the globe whose own countries have found inspiration in its respect for human nature, human dignity, and the rule of law. The greatest in the united States Constitution is its first three beautiful words. They are “We the people.” Generations of Americans have sacrificed to maintain the promise of those words, the promise of our country and of our great history.

In America, the people govern, the people rule, and the people are sovereign. I was elected not to take power, but to give power to the American people where it belongs. In foreign affairs, we are renewing this founding principle of sovereignty. Our government’s first duty is to its people, to our citizens, to serve their needs, to ensure their safety, to preserve their rights, and to defend their values. As president of the United States, I will always put America first. Just like you, as the leaders of your countries, will always and should always put your countries first.

All responsible leaders have an obligation to serve their own citizens, and the nation state remains the best vehicle for elevating the human condition. But making a better life for our people also requires us to work together in close harmony and unity, to create a more safe and peaceful future for all people.

The United States will forever be a great friend to the world and especially to its allies. But we can no longer be taken advantage of or enter into a one-sided deal where the United States gets nothing in return. As long as I hold this office, I will defend America’s interests above all else, but in fulfilling our obligations to our nations, we also realize that it’s in everyone’s interests to seek the future where all nations can be sovereign, prosperous, and secure.

America does more than speak for the values expressed in the United Nations charter. Our citizens have paid the ultimate price to defend our freedom and the freedom of many nations represented in this great hall. America’s devotion is measured on the battlefields where our young men and women have fought and sacrificed alongside of our allies. From the beaches of Europe to the deserts of the Middle East to the jungles of Asia, it is an eternal credit to the American character that even after we and our allies emerge victorious from the bloodiest war in history, we did not seek territorial expansion or attempt to oppose and impose our way of life on others. Instead, we helped build institutions such as this one to defend the sovereignty, security, and prosperity for all. For the diverse nations of the world, this is our hope.

We want harmony and friendship, not conflict and strife. We are guided by outcomes, not ideologies. We have a policy of principled realism, rooted in shared goals, interests, and values. That realism forces us to confront the question facing every leader and nation in this room, it is a question we cannot escape or avoid. We will slide down the path of complacency, numb to the challenges, threats, and even wars that we face, or do we have enough strength and pride to confront those dangers today so that our citizens can enjoy peace and prosperity tomorrow.

If we desire to lift up our citizens, if we aspire to the approval of history, then we must fulfill our sovereign duties to the people we faithfully represent. We must protect our nations, their interests and their futures. We must reject threats to sovereignty from the Ukraine to the South China Sea. We must uphold respect for law, respect for borders, and respect for culture, and the peaceful engagement these allow.

And just as the founders of this body intended, we must work together and confront together those who threaten us with chaos, turmoil, and terror. The scourge of our planet today are small regimes that violate every principle [on which] the United Nations is based. They respect neither their own citizens nor the sovereign rights of their countries. If the righteous many do not confront the wicked few, then evil will triumph. When decent people and nations become bystanders to history, the forces of destruction only gather power and strength.

No one has shown more contempt for other nations and for the well-being of their own people than the depraved regime in North Korea. It is responsible for the starvation deaths of millions of North Koreans. And for the imprisonment, torture, killing, and oppression of countless more. We were all witness to the regime’s deadly abuse when an innocent American college student, Otto Warmbier, was returned to America, only to die a few days later.

We saw it in the assassination of the dictator’s brother, using banned nerve agents in an international airport. We know it kidnapped a sweet 13-year-old Japanese girl from a beach in her own country, to enslave her as a language tutor for North Korea’s spies. If this is not twisted enough, now North Korea’s reckless pursuit of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles threatens the entire world with unthinkable loss of human life. It is an outrage that some nations would not only trade with such a regime, but would arm, supply, and financially support a country that imperils the world with nuclear conflict.

No nation on Earth has an interest in seeing this band of criminals arm itself with nuclear weapons and missiles. The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea. Rocket man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime. The United States is ready, willing, and able, but hopefully this will not be necessary. That’s what the United Nations is all about. That’s what the United Nations is for. Let’s see how they do.

It is time for North Korea to realize that the denuclearization is its only acceptable future. The United Nations Security Council recently held two unanimous 15-0 votes adopting hard-hitting resolutions against North Korea, and I want to thank China and Russia for joining the vote to impose sanctions, along with all of the other members of the Security Council. Thank you to all involved. But we must do much more.

It is time for all nations to work together to isolate the Kim regime until it ceases its hostile behavior. We face this decision not only in North Korea; it is far past time for the nations of the world to confront another reckless regime, one that speaks openly of mass murder, vowing death to America, destruction to Israel, and ruin for many leaders and nations in this room.

The Iranian government masks a corrupt dictatorship behind the false guise of a democracy. It has turned a wealthy country, with a rich history and culture, into an economically depleted rogue state whose chief exports are violence, bloodshed, and chaos. The longest-suffering victims of Iran’s leaders are, in fact, its own people. Rather than use its resources to improve Iranian live, its oil profits go to fund Hezbollah and other terrorists that kill innocent Muslims and attack their peaceful Arab and Israeli neighbors.

This wealth, which rightly belongs to Iran’s people, also goes to shore up Bashar al-Assad’s dictatorship, fuel Yemen’s civil war, and undermine peace throughout the entire Middle East. We cannot let a murderous regime continue these destabilizing activities while building dangerous missiles, and we cannot abide by an agreement if it provides cover for the eventual construction of a nuclear program. The Iran deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into. Frankly, that deal is an embarrassment to the United States, and I don’t think you’ve heard the last of it. Believe me.

It is time for the entire world to join us in demanding that Iran’s government end its pursuit of death and destruction. It is time for the regime to free all Americans and citizens of other nations that they have unjustly detained. Above all, Iran’s government must stop supporting terrorists, begin serving its own people, and respect the sovereign rights of its neighbors. The entire world understands that the good people of Iran want change, and, other than the vast military power of the United States, that Iran’s people are what their leaders fear the most. This is what causes the regime to restrict internet access, tear down satellite dishes, shoot unarmed student protesters, and imprison political reformers.

Oppressive regimes cannot endure forever, and the day will come when the people will face a choice. Will they continue down the path of poverty, bloodshed, and terror, or will the Iranian people return to the nation’s proud roots as a center of civilization, culture, and wealth, where their people can be happy and prosperous once again? The Iranian regime’s support for terror is in stark contrast to the recent commitments of many of its neighbors to fight terrorism and halt its finance, and in Saudi Arabia early last year, I was greatly honored to address the leaders of more than 50 Arab and Muslim nations. We agreed that all responsible nations must work together to confront terrorists and the Islamic extremism that inspires them.

We will stop radical islamic terrorism because we cannot allow it to tear up our nation and, indeed, to tear up the entire world. We must deny the terrorists’ safe haven, transit, funding, and any form of support for their vile and sinister ideology. We must drive them out of our nation. It is time to expose and hold responsible those countries … who support and finance terror groups like al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, the Taliban, and others that slaughter innocent people.

The United States and our allies are working together throughout the Middle East to crush the loser terrorists and stop the reemergence of safe havens they use to launch attacks on all of our people. Last month I announced a new strategy for victory in the fight against this evil in Afghanistan. From now on, our security interests will dictate the length and scope of military operation, not arbitrary benchmarks and timetables set up by politicians. I have also totally changed the rules of engagement in our fight against the Taliban and other terrorist groups.

In Syria and Iraq, we have made big gains toward lasting defeat of ISIS. In fact, our country has achieved more against ISIS in the last eight months than it has in many, many years combined. We seek the deescalation of the Syrian conflict, and a political solution that honors the will of the Syrian people. The actions of the criminal regime of Bashar al-Assad, including the use of chemical weapons against his own citizens, even innocent children, shock the conscience of every decent person. No society could be safe if banned chemical weapons are allowed to spread. That is why the United States carried out a missile strike on the airbase that launched the attack.

We appreciate the efforts of the United Nations’ agencies that are providing vital humanitarian assistance in areas liberated from ISIS, and we especially thank Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon for their role in hosting refugees from the Syrian conflict. The United States is a compassionate nation and has spent billions and billions of dollars in helping to support this effort. We seek an approach to refugee resettlement that is designed to help these horribly treated people and which enables their eventual return to their home countries to be part of the rebuilding process. For the cost of resettling one refugee in the United States, we can assist more than 10 in their home region.

Out of the goodness of our hearts, we offer financial assistance to hosting countries in the region and we support recent agreements of the G20 nations that will seek to host refugees as close to their home countries as possible. This is the safe, responsible, and humanitarian approach. For decades the United States has dealt with migration challenges here in the Western Hemisphere.

We have learned that over the long term, uncontrolled migration is deeply unfair to both the sending and the receiving countries. For the sending countries, it reduces domestic pressure to pursue needed political and economic reform and drains them of the human capital necessary to motivate and implement those reforms. For the receiving countries, the substantial costs of uncontrolled migration are born overwhelmingly by low-income citizens whose concerns are often ignored by both media and government.

I want to salute the work of the United Nations in seeking to address the problems that cause people to flee from their home. The United Nations and African Union led peacekeeping missions to have invaluable contributions in stabilizing conflict in Africa. The United States continues to lead the world in humanitarian assistance, including famine prevention and relief, in South Sudan, Somalia, and northern Nigeria and Yemen.

We have invested in better health and opportunity all over the world through programs like PEPFAR, which funds AIDS relief, the President’s Malaria Initiative, the Global Health Security Agenda, the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery, and the Women Entrepreneur’s Finance Initiative, part of our commitment to empowering women all across the globe.

We also thank—we also thank the secretary general for recognizing that the United Nations must reform if it is to be an effective partner in confronting threats to sovereignty, security, and prosperity. Too often the focus of this organization has not been on results, but on bureaucracy and process. In some cases, states that seek to subvert this institution’s noble end have hijacked the very systems that are supposed to advance them. For example, it is a massive source of embarrassment to the United Nations that some governments with egregious human rights records sit on the UN Human Rights Council.

The United States is one out of 193 countries in the United Nations, and yet we pay 22 percent of the entire budget and more. In fact, we pay far more than anybody realizes. The United States bears an unfair cost burden, but to be fair, if it could actually accomplish all of its stated goals, especially the goal of peace, this investment would easily be well worth it. Major portions of the world are in conflict, and some, in fact, are going to Hell, but the powerful people in this room, under the guidance and auspices of the United Nations, can solve many of these vicious and complex problems. The American people hope that one day soon the United Nations can be a much more accountable and effective advocate for human dignity and freedom around the world.

In the meantime, we believe that no nation should have to bear a disproportionate share of the burden, militarily or financially. Nations of the world must take a greater role in promoting secure and prosperous societies in their own region. That is why in the Western Hemisphere the United States has stood against the corrupt, destabilizing regime in Cuba and embraced the enduring dream of the Cuban people to live in freedom. (Screengrab: YouTube/via Global News)

My administration recently announced that we will not lift sanctions on the Cuban government until it makes fundamental reforms. We have also imposed tough calibrated sanctions on the socialist Maduro regime in Venezuela, which has brought a once thriving nation to the brink of total collapse. The socialist dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro has inflicted terrible pain and suffering on the good people of that country.

This corrupt regime destroyed a prosperous nation—prosperous nation, by imposing a failed ideology that has produced poverty and misery everywhere it has been tried. To make matters worse, Maduro has defied his own people, stealing power from their elected representatives, to preserve his disastrous rule. The Venezuelan people are starving, and their country is collapsing. Their democratic institutions are being destroyed. The situation is completely unacceptable, and we cannot stand by and watch.

As a responsible neighbor and friend, we and all others have a goal—that goal is to help them regain their freedom, recover their country, and restore their democracy. I would like to thank leaders in this room for condemning the regime and providing vital support to the Venezuelan people. The United States has taken important steps to hold the regime accountable. We are prepared to take further action if the government of Venezuela persists on its path to impose authoritarian rule on the Venezuelan people.

We are fortunate to have incredibly strong and healthy trade relationships with many of the Latin American countries gathered here today. Our economic bond forms a critical foundation for advancing peace and prosperity for all of our people and all of our neighbors. I ask every country represented here today to be prepared to do more to address this very real crisis. We call for the full restoration of democracy and political freedoms in Venezuela. The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that socialism has been faithfully implemented.

From the Soviet Union to Cuba to Venezuela, wherever true socialism or communism has been adopted, it has delivered anguish and devastation and failure. Those who preach the tenets of these discredited ideologies only contribute to the continued suffering of the people who live under these cruel systems. America stands with every person living under a brutal regime. Our respect for sovereignty is also a call for action. All people deserve a government that cares for their safety, their interests, and their well-being, including their prosperity. In America, we seek stronger ties of business and trade with all nations of goodwill, but this trade must be fair and it must be reciprocal.

For too long the American people were told that mammoth, multinational trade deals, unaccountable international tribunals, and powerful global bureaucracies were the best way to promote their success. But as those promises flowed, millions of jobs vanished and thousands of factories disappeared. Others gamed the system and broke the rules, and our great middle class, once the bedrock of American prosperity, was forgotten and left behind, but they are forgotten no more and they will never be forgotten again.

While America will pursue cooperation and commerce with other nations, we are renewing our commitment to the first duty of every government, the duty of our citizens. This bond is the source of America’s strength and that of every responsible nation represented here today. If this organization is to have any hope of successfully confronting the challenges before us, it will depend, as President Truman said some 70 years ago, on the independent strength of its members. If we are to embrace the opportunities of the future and overcome the present dangers together, there can be no substantive for strong, sovereign, and independent nations, nations that are rooted in the histories and invested in their destiny, nations that seek allies to befriend, not enemies to conquer, and most important of all, nations that are home to men and women who are willing to sacrifice for their countries, their fellow citizens, and for all that is best in the human spirit.

This is the ancient wish of every people and the deepest yearning that lives inside every sacred soul. So let this be our mission, and let this be our message to the world. We will fight together, sacrifice together, and stand together for peace, for freedom, for justice, for family, for humanity, and for the almighty God who made us all. Thank you, God bless you, God bless the nations of the world, and God bless the United States of America. Thank you very much.

PUTIN’S REAL SYRIA AGENDA

While Dems are crying about the unproven collusion between President Trump and the Russians to win Election-2016 AND ignoring Dem collusion with the Russians (which is better documented), Russia is quietly changing the balance of power in the Middle East by colluding with Iran for geopolitical regional power.

The Dems are either saps or more than willing to stealthily cooperate with the former Soviet Union whose President is a former uber-spy Vladimir Putin.

PUTIN’S REAL SYRIA AGENDA [Summary/Intro]

By Genevieve Casagrande

Mar 20, 2017

Institute for the Study of War [ISW]

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s primary objective in Syria is to constrain U.S. freedom of action – not fight ISIS and al Qaeda. Russia’s military deployments at current levels will not enable the Iranian-penetrated Assad regime to secure Syria. Moscow’s deepening footprint in Syria threatens America’s ability to defend its interests across the Middle East and in the Mediterranean Sea. The next U.S. step in Syria must help regain leverage over Russia rather than further encourage Putin’s expansionism.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) produced this report with the Critical Threats Project (CTP). The insights are part of an intensive multi-month exercise to frame, design, and evaluate potential courses of action that the United States could pursue to destroy the Islamic State in Iraq and al Sham (ISIS) and al Qaeda in Syria. The ISW-CTP team recently released “America’s Way Ahead in Syria,” which details the flaws in the current U.S. approach in Iraq and Syria and proposes the first phase of a strategic reset in the Middle East.

Putin’s Real Syria Agenda

By Genevieve Casagrande and Kathleen Weinberger

March 2017

ISW – PDF

Russia’s intervention in Syria in September 2015 fundamentally altered the balance of the Syrian Civil War.1 Russia re-established momentum behind Syrian President Bashar al Assad and his Iranian allies at a moment when major victories by ISIS and Syrian rebels threatened to force the regime to contract into Syria’s central corridor.2 The capabilities Russia deployed were not limited to the airframes, artillery, and personnel needed to conduct a counter-terrorism or counterinsurgency mission, however. Russia deployed advanced air defense and ballistic missile systems, naval units, air superiority aircraft, and other capabilities in a display of major Russian force projection in the region. Russian President Vladimir Putin is altering the balance of power in Syria and the Eastern Mediterranean through sustained Russian military operations and additional deployments of high-end capabilities.

Russian Force Projection

Russia ultimately seeks to expand its permanent naval and air bases on the Syrian coast in order to further project force into the Mediterranean and Middle East. Russia’s establishment of an anti-access and area denial (A2/AD) exclusion zone from its bases at Latakia and Tartous allows Russia to create de-facto no fly zones in the Eastern Mediterranean as well as over most of Syria. These A2/AD zones constrain U.S. freedom of movement and ultimately raise the cost of U.S. involvement in Syria.3 Russia deployed the naval version of the S-300 to protect the airspace over Latakia airbase in Syria in November 2015.4 Russia also deployed the S-400 in late November 2015 shortly after the Turkish downing of a Russian jet.5 Russia has since deployed an additional seven S-300 systems in an effort to build in redundancies, advance the integration of its air defenses, and provide more comprehensive coverage.6 The S-300 and S-400 systems are road mobile and interoperable, increasing the difficulty of neutralizing the systems. [See Appendix I]

Putin wants to challenge the U.S. and its allies by increasing Russian military and political influence in the Middle East. Russia has rotated a wide range of naval vessels to participate in the conflict in order to demonstrate the capabilities of these units and Russia’s willingness to deploy them in the Mediterranean. Russia has deployed some of its most advanced non-nuclear naval capabilities to the Eastern Mediterranean.7 Russian subsurface and surface vessels successfully engaged ground targets in Syria after launching Kalibr cruise missiles from the Mediterranean and Caspian Seas.8 Russia has shown it can undertake precision strikes with the nuclear-capable Kalibr cruise missile at significant distance.

Russia also maintains anti-ship capabilities in the Mediterranean, including the Bastion-P coastal defense system. Russia demonstrated the land attack capabilities of the Bastion in November 2016.9 Russia has also deployed battle cruisers that bring advanced anti-ship and air defense capabilities off the Syrian coast. Russia’s deployment of its much-ridiculed aircraft carrier the Admiral Kuznetsov nevertheless showcased its force projection capabilities and intent to exhibit its naval presence in the Mediterranean.10 [See Appendix II]

Putin has deployed air defense and anti-ship systems to Syria in order to threaten the United States. Russia does not need these systems to support the counter-terrorism campaign it claims it is waging against anti-Assad opposition groups in Syria. Those groups do not operate aircraft or naval vessels. Russia also deployed the nuclear capable SS-26 ‘Iskander’ ballistic missiles to Syria and used the systems to attack opposition held terrain.11 The Iskander missiles provide no meaningful additional advantage against the opposition. The only conceivable target for these advanced systems is the U.S. and its allies. [See Appendix III]

Constrain U.S. Freedom of Action

Russia has used its deployment to constrain U.S. freedom of action and limit American policy options in Syria. Russia deployed the S-300 and S-400 air defense systems to deter the U.S. from direct military action against the Assad regime through the unilateral establishment of a no-fly zone. Russia has also forward deployed assets beyond its air and naval bases on the coast in order to further complicate the personnel are primarily concentrated in Latakia, Aleppo, and Tartous Provinces, but are also active in Hama, Homs, Damascus, and Hasakah and include a wide range of units including air assault, tank, medical, naval infantry, and special operations forces. [See Appendix IV]

Russia has intentionally removed potential U.S. partners within the armed opposition from the battlefield in Syria. Russian airstrikes from October 2015 to March 2017 have primarily targeted the mainstream Syrian opposition – not ISIS – in order to ensure the opposition’s defeat through its submission, destruction, or transformation. The Russian air campaign has driven what remains of the mainstream opposition closer to Salafi-jihadi groups, which are stronger and better able to defend against intensified pro-regime military operations. Russia is also exacerbating radicalization through its deliberate, illegal targeting of civilians. Russia has consistently targeted hospitals, schools, and other critical civilian infrastructure throughout the sixteen months of its air campaign.

Russian Testing Grounds

Russia has also used sustained use of transport aircraft in Syria to exercise the Russian military’s overall combat readiness and force projection capabilities. Expeditionary logistics and force projection is difficult for militaries to exercise, in general. Russia is exercising expeditionary logistics by air and sea in Syria.13 Russia is refining its ability to deploy its military personnel and equipment rapidly at a large scale in order to message its ability to threaten the U.S. and its NATO and European allies. Russia announced its intent to prioritize the development of naval equipment for troop transport on March 8 in order to increase the Russian Navy’s ability to provide logistical support in Syria and in other coastal zones.14 Russia also re-supplies and provides combat support for prospect of direct U.S. strikes against the Syrian regime for fear of inadvertently hitting Russian troops. Sources estimated that Russia maintains between 1,500 and 4,000 military personnel in Syria.12 These forces in Syria through frequent deliveries from Russian Il-76 and An-124 transport aircraft. As of October 2016, these transport aircraft were making multiple trips to Syria each month and it is likely that these aircraft continue to make regular trips to Syria. [See Appendix V]

Limitations of Russian Capabilities

Putin faces a number of economic and military constraints that limit the resources Russia can bring to bear in Syria. Russia’s economic crisis has forced Russia to balance limited resources across key theaters like Ukraine, the Baltics, the Middle East, and domestically in Russia. Putin has opted to pursue multiple, mutually reinforcing lines of effort using a diverse set of naval, air, missile, and ground capabilities in Syria. The overlap allows Russia to extract significant benefits with minimal cost. The Russian military has demonstrated its many shortcomings during its deployment to Syria, including frequent friendly fire incidents, losses of Russian aircraft, a poor performance by Russia’s aging aircraft carrier the Admiral Kuznetsov, and reports of mechanical failure of Russian equipment.15

The Russian deployment, at current levels, will be insufficient to grant Assad victory over the opposition, al Qaeda, or ISIS. Russia, Iran, and the regime have been unable to sustain significant simultaneous operations against ISIS and the Syrian opposition, despite Russia’s considerable airframe deployments. Russian airframes were unable to prevent ISIS’s recapture of Palmyra in December 2016 alongside a final pro-regime push to defeat the opposition in Aleppo, for example.16 Russia has instead used ‘cessation of hostilities’ agreements to drawdown its airstrikes against the opposition and surge its air campaign against ISIS for limited periods of time.17 Salafi-Jihadi groups have meanwhile begun to consolidate the opposition under more effective command-and-control structures, increasing rebels’ capabilities and resiliency.18 This dynamic will not only lead to a protracted and bloody civil war for the foreseeable future, but it ultimately raises the requirements for the U.S. to deal with the conflict.

Implications

Russia is both an unacceptable and ineffective partner against jihadists in Syria. The Russian deployment is inconsistent with Putin’s narrative that Russia intervened in Syria in order to combat terrorists. Many of its capabilities have no utility in the anti-ISIS fight. Putin instead seeks to use Russia’s deployment to subordinate U.S. military action and policies to Russian objectives in Syria. Russia’s aggressive deployment to Syria intends to deter the U.S. from intervening for fear of incurring significant costs. Russia has largely pursued its objectives in Syria with impunity. It has deprived the U.S. of freedom of maneuver, disrupted U.S. partnerships with key allies in the region, and facilitated Russia’s emergence as a geopolitical force in the region. Any potential partnership with Russia in Syria will further strengthen jihadists and force the U.S. to capitulate to a Russian vision for the broader Middle East that endangers America’s security interests.
