Huma Abedin, Muslim Brotherhood and Benghazigate?

Huma Abedin sneaked away from being Hillary Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff about the same time Rep. Michele Bachman along with Reps. Trent Franks, R-AZ, Louie Gohmert, R-TX, Thomas Rooney, R-FL, and Lynn Westmoreland, R-GA sent a letter to the Inspector General demanding an investigation of Abedin as a Fifth Columnist for the Muslim Brotherhood around July 12 or 13, 2012.
Why is Abedin’s stealth resignation important? After leaving Hillary’s political employ she became employed as a consultant for the State Department which according to the Shoebat Foundation means she no longer needed to make her tax returns public.
Hmm … Apparently Huma Abedin continued her role with Hillary just as a consultant to the State Department. Let’s see possible Muslim Brotherhood collaborator, Benghazigate cover-up, Ambassador Stevens negotiating with Libyan Islamists to deliver arms to Syrian rebel Islamists BUT maybe a MB arms diversion to Egypt to deliver the arms to Hamas. Yeah I know that is a lot of “ifs”.
Here is another “if”. What if Huma Abedin embroiled Hillary Clinton into the negotiations to transfer Libyan arms to either the Syrian Islamist Rebels or to Hamas or to both? Such a scheme would have to be signed off on by President Barack Hussein Obama. Therein would lay the reason for a cover-up: to save Obama from impeachment and to try to keep Hillary’s name sacrosanct for a run for the Dem nomination for President in 2016.

The title of a New York Times article by Raymond Hernandez reads, “Weiner’s Wife Didn’t Disclose Consulting Work She Did While Serving in State Dept.”. However, the headline for another story pops up in the eighth paragraph when a potentially very interesting claim is made. Take note of when Abedin allegedly stepped down as Deputy Chief of Staff for Hillary.

Ms. Abedin reached her new working arrangement in June 2012, when she returned from maternity leave, quietly leaving her position as deputy chief of staff and becoming a special government employee, which is essentially a consultant. A State Department official said that change freed her from the requirement that she disclose her private earnings for the rest of the year on her financial disclosure forms. Still, during that period, she continued to be identified publicly in news reports as Mrs. Clinton’s deputy chief of staff.
Officials in the State Department and Clinton circles seem especially sensitive about the arrangement, and no one would speak about it on the record. Earlier this month, Mr. Weiner released a copy of the couple’s 2012 tax return showing that they had income of more than $490,000.
According to the Times’ sources, Abedin stepped down as Deputy Chief of Staff for Hillary in June of 2012 but continued to be identified as Hillary’s Deputy Chief of Staff – without any announcement by the State Department to the contrary – before Hillary stepped down as Secretary of State seven months later.
Something else happened in June of 2012 as well, the 13th to be exact. That is the date of a letter sent by Reps. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Trent Franks (R-AZ), Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), and Tom Rooney (R-FL) to the State Department’s Deputy Inspector General. That letter specifically named Huma Abedin and her familial connections to the Muslim Brotherhood:
“…the Department’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Huma Abedin, has three family members – her late father, her mother and her brother – connected to Muslim Brotherhood operatives and/or organizations. Her position affords her routine access to the Secretary and to policy-making.”
It is not clear if the letter had anything to do with Abedin ‘quietly’ stepping down at around the same time the letter was sent, largely because of the State Department’s secrecy.
The letter to the State Department’s IG office was one of five sent to various IG’s. Several individuals were named but by far, Abedin’s name caused the most controversy; her ties to the Brotherhood through her mother and brother – as well as her work at the IMMA – are indisputable.
Had an announcement been made in June of 2012 that Abedin was stepping down as Deputy, it clearly would have fueled the controversy. Nonetheless, two questions need to be answered:
1.) Why did Abedin step down as Deputy Chief of Staff when she allegedly did?
2.) Why was it kept secret for nearly a year?
As to the issue of secrecy, the subject of the New York Times article is Abedin’s refusal to disclose her consulting work while she was still at the State Department.
We have expressed – as have others – repeated interest in Abedin disclosing the contents of the Form 86 she should have completed prior to working as Hillary’s Deputy back in 2009.
It is also, indeed interesting that the news of Abedin’s ‘quiet’ departure comes at a time when the State Department is under quite a big microscope over Benghazi. Again, we have expressed – as have others – interest in knowing to what extent Abedin was involved in Benghazi-gate.
Then again, how silly of us. That was before we knew – as well as everyone else – that she stepped down in June of 2012.
Perhaps Anthony Weiner’s decision to run for mayor of New York City might start bringing some interesting things to light after all.

Huma Abedin’s Mother exposed by CSP

The Leftist Mainstream Media (MSM) – sometimes recognized as the lamestream media – in collusion with Muslim apologists have attacked Rep. Michele Bachmann and four other Congressmen have been attacked as bigoted Islamophobes for demanding an investigation to Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in the U.S. government.
Although I don’t have an irrational fear of Muslims as connoted by the epithet of Islamophobe, I like to think I wear the Islamophobe badge proudly. Islamophobia could better be defined as a rational caution relating to the agenda of Radical Islam to force an international Caliphate on the world that if they are sane will have nothing to do with the anti-Liberty principles inherent within Sharia Law.
As such Radical Islamic proponents view that there are two enemies to be destroyed; i.e. the little Satan Israel and the great Satan America.
Now that Egyptian voters have elected a Muslim Brotherhood (MB) candidate to be President of Egypt, the MB is now or should be recognized as a transnational organization that government National Security interests should be focusing on. Somewhat in the same way (hopefully) there is a National Security watch on Iran.
The MB is big on the concept that the USA is the big Satan that must be destroyed by infiltrating America to create the environment that will allow Islam to overcome the U.S. Constitution. You Need to READ:

So when U.S. Congressmen recognize there are individuals with ties to the MB or an MB affiliate in the U.S. government and desire an investigation then that is NOT bigotry! Rather an investigation is awareness that something is afoot that endangers the U.S. Constitution of which every government employee up to and including the Office of President of the United States is sworn to uphold. If there are people in government that have sworn to uphold the Constitution OR at the very least work in a government Office sworn to uphold the Constitution yet desire the Constitution’s demise, then those people need to be excised from government responsibility at the very least. If there is an “at most” a criminal investigation must occur to discover if our nation has been harmed internally.
I am glad that the Center for Security Policy (CSP) has put together an exposé of Huma Abedin’s mother Saleha S. Mahmood Abedin. Huma Abedin is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s close aide. That means she has access to Classified materials that her MB mother might be interested in acquiring. That would not be good for America. WASHINGTON, D.C.: A book published and translated by the mother of Obama administration State Department Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin provides fresh evidence that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s closest aide has deeply problematic foreign associations that could, in violation of departmental guidelines, “create… a heightened risk of foreign exploitation, inducement, manipulation, pressure, or coercion.”
In light of the escalating controversy over the role being played in U.S. security policy-making by Ms. Abedin and others with personal and/or professional ties to the Muslim Brotherhood (see Part 8 of the Center for Security Policy’s online curriculum at MuslimBrotherhoodinAmerica.com), the revelations contained in a new Center report– Ties That Bind? The Views and Agenda of Huma Abedin’s Islamist Mother– could not be more timely, or important.
The Center’s report excerpts and analyzes relevant passages from a book published and translated by Saleha S. Mahmood Abedin called Women in Islam: A Discourse in Rights and Obligations by Fatima Umar Naseef. Naseef is a past head of the “women’s section” and professor of shariah at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, where Dr. Abedin is also on the faculty. The book was published in 1999, the same year Dr. Abedin founded Dar Al Hekma, a university for women also in Jeddah, that Secretary Clinton visited and spoke admiringly of with Huma Abedin in February 2010. [See Remarks on that occasion by Mrs. Clinton, including her comment that Huma holds a "very sensitive and important position" in her department, and those by her hosts.]

The organization responsible for the publication of Women in Islam was the International Islamic Committee for Woman & Child (IICWC), chaired at the time by Dr. Abedin. IICWC misleadingly describes itself as “an international organization of concerned women who are committed to improving the condition of women and children around the world.” In fact, like the Muslim Brotherhood, the Muslim World League (MWL) and other Islamist organizations with which it is associated, the IICWC is committed to eviscerating the rights of women and children by imposing everywhere shariah, a code that denies them fundamental – and, in the United States, constitutional – liberties.
Specifically, the book published by Dr. Abedin wholeheartedly affirms: limits on women’s free expression; the permissibility of stoning as a punishment for adultery, killing of apostates and female genital mutilation; the contention that “man-made laws” enslave women; and more. It also endorses women’s right to fight in armed jihad. Women in Islam is available online and sold at the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs, an Islamist organization co-founded by Huma Abedin’s mother and her late father, Dr. Syed Zainul Abedin.
On July 21, former federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy posted an essay at National Review Online that should be required reading for everyone commenting on the request by five Members of Congress led by Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota for Inspector General investigations of Muslim Brotherhood influence operations within the U.S. government. In it, he observed that the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs “was backed by the Muslim World League. As the Hudson Institute’s Zeyno Baran relates, the MWL was started by the Saudi government in 1962 ‘with Brotherhood members in key leadership positions.’ It has served as the principal vehicle for the propagation of Islamic supremacism by the Saudis and the Brotherhood.”
Mr. McCarthy notes that:
The five House conservatives… are asking questions that adults responsible for national security should feel obliged to ask: In light of Ms. Abedin’s family history, is she someone who ought to have a security clearance, particularly one that would give her access to top-secret information about the Brotherhood? Is she, furthermore, someone who may be sympathetic to aspects of the Brotherhood’s agenda, such that Americans ought to be concerned that she is helping shape American foreign policy?
Andrew McCarthy, who successfully prosecuted the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdul Rahman – a convicted terrorist and clerical inspiration for jihadists worldwide, whose release from federal prison at the insistence of Muslim Brother and Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi has been the subject of discussions within and enabled by Mrs. Clinton’s State Department – goes on to observe that:
The State Department is particularly wary when it comes to the category of ‘foreign influence‘ – yes, it is a significant enough concern to warrant its own extensive category in background investigations. No criminal behavior need be shown to deny a security clearance; access to classified information is not a right, and reasonable fear of “divided loyalties” is more than sufficient for a clearance to be denied. The [Department's own security] guidelines probe ties to foreign countries and organizations because hostile elements could “target United States citizens to obtain protected information” or could be “associated with a risk of terrorism.” Note: The Brotherhood checks both these boxes.
Frank J. Gaffney, Jr., President of the Center for Security Policy, said upon the release of the Center’s new report, Ties That Bind? The Views and Agenda of Huma Abedin’s Islamist Mother:
In the interest of informing the debate about the need to investigate Huma Abedin’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and its agenda, and those of others shaping policy in the Obama administration, the Center for Security Policy offers in Ties That Bind? further cause for such an investigation. That includes, for instance, evidence of Dr. Saleha Abedin’s personal involvement with the International Islamic Committee on Woman and Child’s affiliated organization, the International Islamic Council for Da’wah and Relief (IICDR). The IICDR was banned in Israel in 2008 for its collaboration with Muslim Brotherhood cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi’s Union for Good in the funding of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization, Hamas. In the United States, the Union for Good was designated a terrorist entity in late 2008.
This further documentation of Dr. Abedin’s positions on shariah law, her leadership of the IICWC and its affiliation with a designated terrorist entity such as the IICDR makes plain that a thorough investigation is fully justified regarding her daughter’s access to classified information and policy-influencing role. In particular, in connection with the latter, Ties That Bind powerfully reinforces the Center’s earlier warning that the IICWC is currently advocating for the repeal of Egypt’s Mubarak-era prohibitions on female genital mutilation, child marriage, and marital rape, on the grounds that such prohibitions run counter to shariah. Americans want no part of such an agenda. They should they have no reason for concern that senior officials in their government are stealthily encouraging it.

Dear Colleagues:
I write to gather more information regarding the allegations you made in letters dated June 13, 2012 to the Inspectors General of the Departments of State, Justice, and Homeland Security, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, stating that individuals and organizations allegedly associated with the Muslim Brotherhood have nefariously influenced the U.S. government.
In your letters, you allege that:
• “Brotherhood operatives” within the U.S. government may have directly influenced the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment of the Muslim Brotherhood, as presented by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on February 10,2011;
• The mother, brother and deceased father of Huma Abedin, Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State 1-lillary Clinton, are connected to the Muslim Brotherhood, and that she, too, by extension, may be working on the organization’s behalf;
• The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, an international organization of 57 countries to which President George W. Bush created a special envoy position, is “determined to impose shariah worldwide” and undermine the U.S. Constitution;
• The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), an umbrella organization of American Muslim groups, is “the largest Muslim Brotherhood front in the United States,” and
• The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and Muslim Advocates, two civil rights organizations, “exercise influence in ways that align with Muslim Brotherhood agendas.”
As evidence for these allegations, you reference Muslim BrotherhoodinAmerica.com, a Web site created by Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy (CSP). Mr. Gaffney has a long history of making unsubstantiated anti-Muslim allegations, including:
• Accusing then-ISAF Commander General David Petraeus of “submission” to Islamic law because he condemned Florida pastor Terry Jones’ burning of a Quran;
• Accusing presidential candidate Herman Cain after meeting with ISNA of meeting with “the largest Muslim Brotherhood front in the United States” (language that appears verbatim in your letters);
• Accusing New Jersey Governor Chris Christie of “corruption” and “treason” for appointing a Muslim lawyer to be a judge;
• Accusing anti-tax advocate Grover Norquist of “enabling and empowering Muslim Brotherhood influence operations against our movement and our country”;
• Accusing former Bush Administration official Suhail Khan of conducting a “Muslim Brotherhood Influence Operation” against the American Conservative Union (ACU), the host of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), and
• Accusing Republican Virginia House of Delegates member David Ramadan of waging “stealth jihad” by seeking elected office.
Mr. Gaffney’s views have been widely discredited, including by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and conservative organizations. The FBI said his research made “unsubstantiated assertions” and relied on “outdated information.” After the ACU board conducted a full investigation of Mr. Gaffney’s accusations against Grover Norquist and Suhail Khan, the board found Mr. Gaffney’s accusations “reprehensible,” “baseless” and “false and unfounded.” The ACU even barred Mr. Gaffney’s participation from CPAC in 2011.
Despite Mr. Gaffney’s record of unsubstantiated allegations, you appear to have based your letters to the Inspectors General on his views.
I request that you provide my office a full accounting of the sources you used to make the serious allegations against the individuals and organizations in your letters. If there is not credible, substantial evidence for your allegations, I sincerely hope that you will publically clear their names.

And then something unusual happened—at least unusual as far as how prepared most Members of Congress are to defend their actions when it comes to protecting our nation against the threat of radical Islam. Representative Bachmann politely replied to Congressman Ellison’s letter in her own 16 page—multi-footnoted—correspondence offering detail after detail about why the letters to the IGs were necessary.

As usual, many in the mainstream media are attacking Representative Bachmann and her colleagues. They are doing so by working to shift the focus from the issue at hand—examining whether the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated specific federal agencies—to a tangential issue.
We cannot let that happen. We must send a strong message of support for the calls for investigations by the Inspectors General. That is the issue at hand, and that must be our continued focus.
While this issue is receiving much attention by both the media and up on Capitol Hill, the U.S. Congress is watching and listening. What will they hear from the people back home?
