Jesus Akbar
Last week Bill Warner wrote an article that is highly critical of Progressive (i.e. Left Wing Thinking) theologian Miroslav Volf a Professor at Yale University which is popular among Ecumenists due to Volf equating the Christian God and the Muslim Allah as one and the same monotheistic personal deity.

Jesus Akbar
By Bill Warner
June 18, 2012
Recently a Yale theologian, Miroslav Volf, came to a Christian school, Lipscomb University, and talked about how Islam and Christianity can live in harmony and respect. He is part of a new industry in America, Christians constructing beautiful lies about Islam. Fundamentally, he says that we all worship the same god.
Volf says, “one of the best ways for people of different faiths to get along is to study their scriptures together.”
If we want to get along, then looking at looking at scriptures is indeed a most excellent way to get to know each other. The problem is that the only scripture Volf wants to study is the Koran. Any time that someone wants to explain Islam by the Koran, you are dealing with someone who is ignorant or a deceiver.
The Koran proclaims in 91 verses that every Muslim is to model their life after the example (Sunna) of Mohammed, but the Sunna of Mohammed is found only in the Sira and the Hadith. The Koran is only 14% of the Islamic sacred texts. Mohammed, not Allah, is 86% of the textual doctrine. Volf, however, ignores Mohammed and only wants to talk about Allah. There is a very good reason for this. Allah is so conveniently abstract that he can construct his Allah-equals-the-Trinity-god by cherry-picking verses and muddle through as if he were in a dormitory philosophy bull session.
While Volf is comparing scriptures, he should point out that the Koran says that Jesus of the Bible is a fraud and that the Gospels, Psalms and Torah are corrupt. That inconvenient Koranic detail was not mentioned.
Volf ignores a 1400 year history of Islam and Christianity and all other religions. The jihad doctrine found in the Koran is the foundation for the murder of 270 million Kafirs (non-Muslims, including Christians). He also ignores the over 18,000 Islamic terror attacks since September 11, 2001. Why refer to a 1400 year history of continuous persecution if it gets in the way of your arguments? What are ugly facts in the face of a beautiful lie?
Volf: Two faiths, worshipping the same God, can work toward the common good under a single government.
Hello, the only government that Allah wants is the Sharia. The place for Christianity and Judaism in the Sharia is as the dhimmi, a semi-slave. History is very clear that when the Sharia is put into place, Christianity dies. It takes centuries, but Christianity is annihilated. Christianity can survive Communism and Nazism, but it cannot survive the Sharia. When Islam invaded what is now Turkey and installed Sharia, it was 100% Christian. Here is a graph of what Sharia law did to the Christian population.
Growth of Islam – Turkey Chart
Volf : Allah offers a constructive way forward by reversing the “our God vs. their God” premise that destroys bridges between neighbors and nations, magnifies fears, and creates strife.
Mohammed, the prophet of Allah, did not just destroy bridges, he destroyed civilizations. Mohammed attacked each and every neighbor until the day he died. That is the Sunna of Mohammed (perfect example of a sacred life). After he died, his Companions (Abu Baker, Umar and Uthman) followed his Sunna just as he demonstrated, and they killed Christians as fast as they could and placed them under Sharia law as dhimmis. By the time the Companion caliphs died, they had destroyed the classical civilization of the Greeks and Romans that was the matrix of Christianity. The classical church in the Middle East with its incredible variety of Christianity was annihilated by Mohammed and his personal students of jihad. The Christianity of today is a stump of the Christianity of the year 630 AD when jihad began. Whole forms of early Christianity were annihilated by Islamic jihad.
And the Koran spoke wonderfully of Mohammed’s jihad. In the Koran written in Medina, about 24% is devoted to “fighting in Allah’s cause”, jihad.
Volf said, “Faith is often misused for political ends, which frequently leads to violence.”
Mohammed preached the religion of Islam for 13 years and garnered 150 converts. After he turned to politics and jihad and when he died every Arab was a Muslim. It was politics and jihad which made him successful.
The moral demand on Muslims is to practice jihad, deceive Kafirs and impose Sharia law. Islamic morality is dualistic. Islamic ethics have one set of rules for Muslims and a second set of rules for Kafirs. Ethics based on the Golden Rule have only one set of rules.
Thick spirituality, Volf said, is faith combined with morality, which treats all people as equal in God’s sight.
Yet we have Allah who hates Kafirs and who does not have a Golden Rule. Only the Golden Rule makes people equal in God’s sight. Allah denies the Golden Rule. Go ahead, plow through the Koran and find the Golden Rule. Do the same for the Sira and the Hadith. No, the way Mohammed treated you depended upon who you are. A Muslim is treated well, and a Kafir is treated to murder, rape, enslavement and deceit.
A religion of the Golden Rule can lead to peace. A religion of jihad and political Sharia leads to war. Islam will not admit to any fault or take any credit for 270,000,000 dead over the last 1400 years. Look at Islamic Turkey—Turkish Muslims murdered a million Armenians in 20th century, but will not admit to this annihilation and genocide.
Lipscomb professor David Fleer, one of the conference organizers, said that Volf’s experiences in Yugoslavia and his scholarship made him the perfect speaker to address how religion and reconciliation intersect. “He set forth the theological foundation for us,” Fleer said.
Exactly why is this man an expert? An expert is made only by studying the Sira, Hadith, Koran and Sharia—not his zip code. There is one, and only one criteria for being expert on Islam—knowledge about Allah and Mohammed. Volf only talks about Allah.
But the real tragedy is that a religion professor thinks that Volf’s inventions are a solid foundation. Contemporary Christian and Jewish theology has become mere philosophy and has its foundation in Leftist social justice doctrine, not scriptures.
Volf said one of the keys to people of different faiths getting along is for each side to admit that those of other faiths are real members of the community. “It’s not just creating space for them physically,” he said. “You have to create space for them in your own cultural self-perception.”
But Islam insists that Kafirs are not part of the umma (Islamic community) which is pure Islamic doctrine. There are 11 verses in the Koran that say that a Muslim is not even the friend of a Kafir, much less a member of the community.
Islam comes into our civilization and demands the political Sharia. Notice that the accommodation is that we submit to the political Sharia and we have to create a space for it in our culture. And the political Sharia has a definite space for the Kafir, called dhimmi. What is disgusting is that Volf makes submitting to political Sharia seem like a blessing to us and our country.
There is a certain class consciousness in the article, Volf’s Yale elitism is all over the copy. Why is it that the elites are such believers? Why do those who understand the threat of Islam and Sharia called “haters” by the media? The elites control the venue. There is no space in the print media, except for Islam and its apologists. The knowledgeable opposition never gets to debate, is never invited to the party. The elites have ruled that the only views that are legal are Muslims and apologists. Those who disagree are immoral bigots and Islamophobes.
Here is the final test of the “we-all-worship-the-same-god” school of theology. What was the last time that a Christian yelled, “Jesus Akbar” before he blew himself up? What was the last time that a Muslim yelled, “Allahu Akbar”, before he murdered a Kafir?
Sure, all gods are the same.

Two Horses
By Unknown Author
Sent Dec 6, 2011 at 4:05 PM
Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it.
From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing….
Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him.
This alone is amazing.
If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.
Attached to the horse’s halter is a small bell. It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.
As you stand and watch these two friends, you’ll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is,
Trusting that he will not be led astray.
When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn’t too far behind to hear the bell.
Like the owners of these two horses, God* does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.
He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.
Sometimes we are the blind horse; being guided by the little ringing bell of those whom God* places in our lives.
Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way….
Good friends are like that… You may not always see them, but you may trust that they are always there.
Please listen for my bell and I’ll listen for yours.
And remember…
Be kinder than necessary – - – Most everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly…….

Four Books from WND Store Relating to Spiritual Warfare
WorldNetDaily usually focuses on Conservative and Pro-Israel articles; however every so often they embark on Christian articles. This is one of those cases; however WND didn’t send me a Christian article. Rather WND sent an email plugging some very fascinating books to do with Christianity and those things Christians war with on a spiritual level: Satan, demonization, the occult and so on.
Those are topics usually avoided by Mainline Protestant Churches and the modern Roman Catholic Church downplays the reality that spiritual evil exists to bring down humankind either knowingly that spiritual evil ultimately faces final defeat and imprisonment in the Lake of Fire or that spiritual evil is under the delusion it can actually defeat the Creator of all that exists.

Four Books from WND Store Relating to Spiritual Warfare
Dr. Karl Payne

The devil is alive and well Released today, new book by Dr. Karl Payne called “fascinating,” “controversial,” “probable bestseller
(WND Exclusive Commentary by Jim Fletcher)
Of all the questions I field from readers of blogs, and all the subjects covered, one of the most popular is that of spiritual warfare.
Often, people will ask, “Can a Christian become possessed?” That kind of thing.
Fortunately for bloggers like me, experts in these various subjects also write books. A new and terrific one on the subject of spiritual warfare is “Spiritual Warfare: Christians, Demonization and Deliverance.” Author Dr. Karl Payne tackles the issues head on, with biblical answers. It’s quite a fascinating read.
Adding some spice to an already hot topic, Payne reveals a “secret” in the title of Chapter 1: “How Did a Non-Charismatic Ordained Conservative Baptist Minister Ever Begin Working with Demonized Individuals?” (He also embraces the truth of inerrancy, by the way.)
Payne’s look at spiritual warfare is controversial, as you might expect. But to be very frank, he raises issues that must be discussed, because they affect individuals leading very “normal” lives, those who seem to come under attacks that can’t be reasonably explained.
In fact, in the foreword, Dr. Fred Dickason (Moody Bible Institute) alludes to this: “For those who have been confused and trapped in a seemingly hopeless battle with intrusive thoughts and suspicions of insanity, this book offers a very plausible and possible solution.”
There you have it; don’t we all know at least one person who fits this description? Payne rightly recognizes – while giving proper due to modern medicine – that some afflictions cannot be explained “normally.” For what he’s really talking about here is the reality of demonic attack.
To allay fears about Payne’s conclusions, let me say this: He is clear that Christians cannot be possessed by demons, but they can certainly intrude into the lives of anyone.
Payne’s quarter-century of experience in confronting this difficult problem makes “Spiritual Warfare” a probable bestseller, so widespread do these problems seem. He also backs his conclusions with Scripture, and gives all due credit to the power of Jesus Christ’s atoning sacrifice.
It is clear, at least to me, that even when Dr. Payne makes provocative statements, he does so with a compassionate heart.
For example, early on, he makes this rather startling statement: “I personally believe that demonic deception is increasing, even within the Christian church, and that the worst of this deception is still to come. If God allows demonic activity to increase until His return, I believe He will also train up and equip a growing number of His children to faithfully and effectively contend with the powers of darkness who oppose His plans and people. Too many North American churches are well on their way to becoming the same spiritually dead museums as Western European churches.”
He also reveals that after years of not dealing with these subjects, his own brush with mortality, and a ghastly encounter with a friend who exhibited classic possession, changed him from a silent observer to one engaged.
Payne also goes to great lengths to present the biblical truth of possession and demonic oppression, which most of us are quite aware that Jesus and the apostles encountered, and often.
Payne describes his first encounter with the supernatural in a chilling account involving a neighbor who served as some sort of spirit guide for folks who would show up at his home at all hours.
One day, Payne decided to confront the spiritual presence indwelling his neighbor. In the man’s living room, reading from 1 John 4, Payne encountered a classic demonic possession. You’ll have to read it for yourself, but the incident convinced him of the reality of such entities.
Payne also confronts the fears and frustrations of believers who realize they are in the grip of “something,” but cannot pinpoint the source of their crippling struggles. He outlines the cleverness used by demonic spirits, who lie to individuals. The result is often that the oppressed person begins to doubt whether God will help him or her. Payne outlines these lies, and solutions for dealing with them, so “Spiritual Warfare” is not a book written on theory, but practicality and compassion.
Chapter 9 (“Demonic Warfare: Common Questions”) is worth the price of the book. One of the things I like about this book is that Payne doesn’t “conjure” an answer if he can’t answer. For example, when asked, “How and where do demons attach themselves to a believer?” Payne says clearly that he does not know, but cites Ephesians 4:27 as an example of a demon able to control a place (or space or territory) in a believer’s life.
Such questions and answers are throughout the book, which is also, I would like to add, saturated with Scripture.
All in all, Karl Payne has become one of my favorite authors, with this single volume. His profound humility, balanced with enough saucy commentary and courage, makes “Spiritual Warfare” a book that needs to be read and discussed widely. Every day, I talk with Christians who believe “something is in the air.”
Surely, the subject of this fine book is front-and-center in that world we all find ourselves in.

Know Thine Enemy: A Guide to Intelligent Deception – (Paperback)
By Connie A. Huft
Once you read this well-researched, very readable investigation of the supernatural, the paranormal and the abodes of the dead, you will be armed with the truth.
Having been a victim of witchcraft at the age of 21, Connie Huft had numerous spiritual encounters with the paranormal, witches and demonic forces. From the time she was a small child she was enamored with the paranormal, with secret, hidden things, and wanted to know about aliens, UFOs, ghosts, the Bermuda Triangle, angels, demons and other mysterious things.
After having several ominous occult encounters, she became concerned about who or what was really behind the paranormal. Her curiosity led her to the Bible and finally to Jesus, where she learned the dark truth behind her former life in the occult.
This is an important and timely book that leaders and laypersons alike will find to be an important reference guide for dealing with this subject matter. Chapters include Lucifer: His Origin, Nature and Agenda; Fallen Angels; Possession; Horoscopes and Astrology; UFOs & Aliens; The Occult, Witchcraft, Sorcery and Magic; Satanic Symbols of the Occult; Ghosts and many more.

The Lennon Prophecy: A New Examination of the Death Clues of The Beatles (Paperback)
By: Joseph Niezgoda
You remember all those “death clues” from the Beatles albums that supposedly hinted at the death of Paul McCartney?
Well, maybe they meant something completely different.
This very thorough examination of the Beatles’ recordings and album artwork theorizes that John Lennon’s murder was eerily foretold. Following a fascinating and unique trail of sorcery, mysticism, numerology, backwards masking, anagrams, and literary and theological writings, the book posits that John Lennon sold his soul in order to achieve international fame and fortune and subsequently paid the ultimate price for his success.
Highly controversial, the book includes a chapter on John Lennon’s parentage and birth as well as chapters covering his uncanny popularity, his statement that he was “more popular than Jesus,” and much more striking evidence that points to Lennon’s association with the occult.

The Great Compromise – (Paperback)
By Greg Laurie
There are countless provocative messages flashed before Christians daily. We want to live effective Christian lives, yet the lure of life on the edge is still there. Temptation. Idolatry. Immorality. Adultery. Our minds are repeatedly assaulted with hundreds of ways to take a little off here, a little off there, until biblical truth and values are completely eroded.
With each small step, each subtle compromise, we’re drawn further from Christ and closer to the abyss of spiritual failure. There is that last little push, that one last compromise, “The Great Compromise” the one we can’t pull out of.
Is there hope? Is there help? Greg Laurie says, “Yes!” In “The Great Compromise,” he exposes Satan’s favorite ploys to pull Christians away from their faith and explains how each of us can take measures to avoid common pitfalls. This encouraging message for today also offers a way back for those who have found themselves ensnared. “Once you understand how compromise works,” says the author, “it will change your spiritual life!”

Don’t Listen to Atheists – God is Love
John R. Houk
© June 6, 2011
Some atheists go to great lengths to find snippets of the Bible or physical science to disprove the existence of God Almighty. I am one that believes that if the Old and New Testament are taken as a whole there is a harmonious explanation to be found. If one chooses to set to find disharmony they will find it easily. Believers seeking harmony will find harmony. Unbelievers seeking disharmony will find disharmony. Seek and you shall is the principle.
Here is a video that atheists like to show with the belief that the God of the Bible is not a God of love or perhaps does not exist at all:
LOL I don’t even have to watch the entire video to answer this. God is love because of the promise in Genesis 3: 14-15.
14 So the LORD God said to the serpent:
“ Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go,
And you shall eat dust
All the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”
Adam fell and turned man into a fallen nature and the earth into a twisted nature because Adam’s stewardship was transferred to the prince of deception that old serpent Satan – aka the adversary.
What is the reason for suffering, natural disasters, and all matters of evil that God is wrongly accused of causing? It is the Fall of Adam.
What is the solution? The Redemptive act of Jesus Christ who emptied Himself of his Divine attributes to become a man not stained with the Adam’s Fall because a part of His DNA was God. Divine DNA trumps human DNA. The LOVE is in that God did not start all over by destroying the rebellious creation and starting over. Furthermore as the centuries passed on, man became more and more corrupt and the earth more and more twisted and awaiting for the promise of Genesis 3:15.
That promise is partially fulfilled in the death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ paying the penalty of Adam’s rebellious Fall. That which is Redeemed is the human spirit. The human mind, body and the Earth await Full Redemption that begins with Christ’s Parousia (i.e. 2nd Coming). The end of the BOOK tells us that Full Redemption does not arrive until Satan has been secured after his last deception upon humanity after the 1,000 year reign of Christ on Earth. Then the ravaged old Earth is changed into the New Earth and the old Heaven is changed into the New Heaven and man and Earth discover FULL Redemption.
The suffering of the Old Testament is the result of Adam’s Fall and a Fallen nature. The promise of Genesis 3: 15 is the demarcation line that divides fallen humanity that results in the blood line that the last child of Promise would be born to begin the Redemption of Christ bruising the Old Serpents head with the Lord’s feet. That bruising began with the unseen battle between Jesus and Satan between the Lord’s death and the Lord’s Resurrection.
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. (Ephesians 1: 17 – 23 NKJV)
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. (Ephesians 2: 1 – 7; 19 – 22 NKJV)
11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2: 11 – 15 NKJV)
1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 Therefore He says:
“ When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.”
9 (Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)
17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4: 1 – 9; 17 – 24 NKJV)
These verses catch up with the reason evil things happen with a loving God. God is Love and that Love is evidenced of Him emptying the Divine attributes to suffer the same as a man by becoming man and then redeeming to be back on the path to union with God. All that is left is the future of Full Redemption.
1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. (Revelation 21: 1 – 7 NKJV)
I know the next criticism from unbelievers is that the Bible is a collection of old myths; However at this point that argument is irrelevant because the whole basis of this response is because of the YouTube video that enjoys utilizing Scriptures out of the context of the Plan of Redemption to prove the premise that God is not a loving God. Ergo, according to the video, God is either non-existent or a lying higher been that is actually evil. This short version of the Plan of Redemption shows the person behind the dialogue to be a deceiver or a deluded individual according the Scriptures chosen.

Discourse on the Reality of God
Between My Son and John R. Houk
April 28, 2011
There has been an ongoing dialogue between my son My Son and I. Below is latest that I have responded. The discussion has been ongoing on my Facebook page that was highlighting the SlantRight post of “Go See ‘Atlas Shrugged’ the Movie”.
On Facebook others have been involved in the conversation. Some of those conversant on the Facebook discussion have had insight that I agree with and disagree with. Since My Son is my son I will focus on him.
I should note that My Son is very adamant in his atheism and has a difficult time letting loose of a dialogue which I sense is due to a desire to be right and everyone else wrong. When things get repetitive I will simply and unilaterally quit responding.

MY SON SAYS: “You’re saying that god transcends evidence, science, reason, critical thinking, etc. The list goes on. I can understand that you have faith that god exists but let’s not put god in a conversation involving the things I just mentioned.”
JOHN SAYS: Why? God is existence.
MY SON SAYS: “The only reason you aren’t locked up in a mad house for your beliefs is that a lot of people are delusional.”
JOHN SAYS: LOL My Son you are dipping a little into the old ad hominem well are you not? Dialogue of Faith and Creation
John R. Houk
© February 16, 2011
I am posting the middle of a dialogue between my son Adam and me. I should have kept the dialogue from the beginning but I had no idea these thoughts we go on for this long.
The theme is Creationism which we both believe in; however Adam is in line with most Creationists that the earth is only 6,000 years old, I believe the earth is in the billions of years old. Creationists would call this a sell-out to the Word of God, but I believe was not limited to a small time frame in the realm of natural law which God. Adam is very adamant in his position yet refrains from the hostility many Creationists would display. Incidentally I don’t begrudge Creationist hostility to an idea they would consider as part of the godless Theory of Evolution. People of the Christian faith have been the object of ridicule by the Western scientific community for generations because of the insistence of objective facts to formulate an objective solution while ignoring the subjective paradigm of faith.
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Cor. 4: 16-18 NKJV)
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Cor. 5: 7 NKJV)
I should note that Adam is a grad student in Physics at Texas Tech. Here is the dialogue:

RE: The young faint Sun paradox and the age of the solar system
February 15, 2011 1:41 PM
Also note that whether creation has been around billions of years or thousands of years only limits physical temporal existence and has no bearing on God’s temporal influence. Because God is infinite he has no beginning or end so whether we existed billions of years or thousands of years is at his pleasure? In other words a young universe doesn’t have any effect on God’s infinite eternal existence nor does an old universe.
I would even go further to suggest whether the universe is young or old is still not even close to a blink of the eye in comparison to the infinite existence of God. Because of this I believe to require the universe to be old because it makes sense that something that vast must be old is a limit on God’s power. I approached the age of the universe with this concept in mind. Starting by not limiting God to have a young or old universe but to having the universe at whatever age God wanted it. Then I went through scripture and the empirical evidence I have found over the last say 5 years and came to the conclusion that it is more likely that the universe is young. I also believe that a young universe is a much larger testimony to God’s limitless power than anything, because to just snap such vastness in existence at such speed is amazing and awesome.
Here is something that even strengthened my belief in a young universe. God does not want to leave room for error in his existence. Scripture lets us know that existence itself is evidence enough for God’s existence. To make an old universe leaves room for the Evolutionist theory as it requires vast amounts of time to be true. To have a young universe removes any possibility whatsoever for random creation of existence.
And the scripture as evidence
Romans 1:20 KJV
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse

RE: The young faint Sun paradox and the age of the solar system
From God’s infinite perception toward temporal existence as it exists after the Fall I completely agree with you. Adam was created an eternal being outside the plain of temporal existence. When Adam realized he was naked it was not because nibbling on the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil awakened his intellect that he was walking around in the nude. Rather it was the realization that his clothing of glory of the eternal realm was gone because by eternal standards he died just as God told Adam would happen if he ate that fruit. Adam and Eve’s embarrassment was beyond just knowing they no longer had any clothes, the embarrassment was in knowing their Divine clothing of glory was gone. In selling their God-given lease to Satan they became temporal beings and the Earth became a cursed existence in the temporal realm. Part of the Future aspects of Redemption will be further than a new Creation of our human spirit that exists in this temporal realm with the hope of glory in the future. Full Redemption occurs after the 1,000 year reign of Christ and Satan’s final defeat. Then God will Re-Create a New Earth and a New Heaven and the two will become one as Christ is in the Father and the Father is in Christ and Christ is in humanity by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Humanity will again wear the clothes of glory and enter eternal existence as God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Whether God’s Creation was 6,000 years ago (unlikely) or billions or years ago (more likely) man became limited in comprehending God’s eternal existence; thus the Bible is not written for God’s perception, rather the Bible is written for humanity to have a shot at perceiving God which is near impossible without Christ. Humanity’s Fallen finite temporal existence has difficulty perceiving God’s eternal infinite existence.

RE: The young faint Sun paradox and the age of the solar system
Here’s a question for you. Why do you say 6000 years is unlikely while billions of years ago are more likely? Is it because today’s society is so ingrained in the doctrine of old earth that maybe it has been so long stated that it has been imprinted on you? I have presented many evidences that have been discovered and what I would say has been repressed from being publicized. Would you not agree with me that a young Earth is more likely to show God’s magnificent and eternal power as it is not limited by a human standard that would require a long time for creation to be made?
I also pulled out the verse below (i.e. Romans 1: 20 above in this post) that was uncommented on that points out that God left plenty of evidence of his awesomeness that would lead me further to believe that God might set things up to make it impossible for anything other than him to create it. A young Earth would do just that as it would remove all possibilities that science has for a universe without God; thus leaving even further proof of his awesomeness and glory. To go further I believe that temporal existence was created on the first day, and that even though Adam was a spiritual being he did exist in a temporal universe. I believe before the first day, time did not exist and time might possibly not exist again after Satan’s final defeat, but I give room for time still existing because even though God makes a new earth and heaven he doesn’t imply the retraction of time. I don’t really think it makes a difference and that I will understand that part when the time comes. I agree with everything you said below except what you say on time.
On a side note I have come to believe that God exists beyond the temporal as I believe he sees all of time at once, which is evidence by the fact that prophecy is even given. Whatever is going to happen then has already happened. This proposes a problem for many scientists as they believe that this interprets that no one has free will. But that is not true, just because God sees all of time does not remove free will as we are bound by time. I might state differently if we could perceive every moment of our existence on this temporal field and never changed any decisions. If upon the final defeat we moved into a timeless existence that is much more complicated and beyond my ability to understand. But there is something I still understand; we will still have free will.
As a physicist there is one interesting thing I have learned that you might not know. Time is a physical parameter that only exists because we are in the physical. I don’t think time will exist If physical will leave, and because physical was created in the first day time started.
From current understanding of relativity time slows down in the presence of mass. Infinite mass means time stops. The opposite is true with lack of mass. Where there is no mass movement is at the speed of light and time stops for that unit while everything else moves at an infinite rate of time. Also the universe contracts to 0 for anything moving at the speed of light. This is where relativity has become so complicated it is just too hard for many to think about. Light at this point is beyond our understanding. Because if the universe contracts to 0 for something at the speed of light, why does it take any time for light to travel in the first place? From the perception of light no time has passed for it while the rest of the universe should immediately die because time of everything outside it passes at infinite rate, yet light gets from one place to another without all of existence passing by. This suggests incompleteness in the understanding of light. Relativity is incomplete.
Also here comes the incompleteness of Quantum Mechanics for any one that believes in God. There is a relation called the uncertainty principle. It states that the uncertainty of position times the uncertainty of momentum cannot be less than a value of h bar over 2. That’s about .5 *10^-34 Joule seconds. Basically the uncertainty of position or momentum cannot be 0. This is obviously wrong because there is no uncertainty in position or momentum when it comes to God so again Quantum Mechanics is also incomplete. These 2 things are one of the most ingrained and highly accepted things in physics.
I am also totally convinced in a young Earth now because of all the evidences that has been presented to me. It now has become my duty in life to fix these 3 things and 1 outside these 3.
1) Propagate Young Earth science and continue to find more evidences of it.
2) Find what is incomplete in Quantum Mechanics that will explain an exact position with exact momentum.
3) Define light better than I might be able to do 2 things:
1) solve the problems with the relativity principle
2) explain why light travels across 13 billion Light years in less than 6000 years.
4) Solve what is wrong with radioactive decay.

Adam you are a true stubborn Houk, but so am I. I simply cannot accept a short term Creation Theory; however I do believe in the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and all that exists but on a long term basis.
A short term Creation points toward the omnipotent supernatural power of God to break natural law which I do believe in. Since I do believe that, when we are both in Heaven you can say, “I told you so.” OR if I am correct I can say, “I told you so.” I believe the long term theory of Creation points to God’s immeasurable eternal existence. As to lingua-physics, my brain shuts off when it comes to mathematical thinking.
Love ya Dad
