Eat this Bread, Drink this Wine

We think about God. We wonder about God.

Because we want to do what God wants us to do.

We want to become what God wants us to become.

 

Our faith remains a simple faith, because

even with all the wisdom the world can offer,

we do not define God. God defines us.

 

We just know that God loves us and protects us.

That Jesus died for us and for every child of God,

because each of God’s children has value.

We have faith that even when we turn away from God,

God never turns away from us.

 

The hand of Jesus is on your shoulder.

He stands with you, and with me, and with every soul.
